National audience; ABSTRACT – The increasing electrification of urban public transports requires to improve the design of the electrical infrastructures in order to account for all the technical and financial challenges involved in the creation of a new line. This paper presents a new optimization tool dedicated to the sizing of tramway electrical infrastructures: power substations, overhead transmission line, feeders, equipotentials. The goal is to determine the number, positions and technical characteristics of all these components in order to achieve the best trade-offs between investment costs, energy costs and the quality of the traffic power supply. The sizing problem is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem and solved using the NSGA-II genetic algorithm. The proposed method is applied to a simple test-case and results are analyzed.; RESUME – L'électrification croissante des transports publics urbains nécessite d'améliorer la conception des infrastructures électriques afin de prendre en compte l'ensemble des enjeux techniques et financiers liés à la création d'une nouvelle ligne. Cet article présente un nouvel outil d'optimisation dédié au dimensionnement des infrastructures électriques des tramways : sous-stations électriques, lignes aériennes de contact, feeders, équipotentielles. L'objectif est de déterminer le nombre, les positions et les caractéristiques techniques de tous ces composants afin d'obtenir les meilleurs compromis entre les coûts d'investissement, les coûts énergétiques et la qualité de l'alimentation du trafic. Le problème de dimensionnement est formulé comme un problème d'optimisation multi-objectifs et résolu à l'aide de l'algorithme génétique NSGA-II. La méthode proposée est appliquée à un cas test simple et les résultats sont analysés.

International audience; This paper presents two mathematical models to solve the Energy Management problem of a building microgrid. In particular, it proposes a deterministic Mixed Integer Linear Programming and Non-Linear Programming formulations. This article focuses on the modelling process and the optimization performances for both approaches regarding optimal operation of near zero energy buildings connected to an electric microgrid with a 24 hours time horizon. For that purpose, a general architecture of a microgrid is detailed, involving energy storage systems, distributed generation and a thermal reduced-model of the grid-connected building. A continuous non-linear model is detailed along with linearisations for the mixed-integer liner formulation. Multi-physic, non-linear and non-convex phenomenon are detailed, such as ventilation and air quality models. Results show that both approaches are relevant for solving the energy management problem of the building microgrid.

Depuis l'essor des ordinateurs et des capacités de calcul, la conception des composants du génie électrique repose largement sur des simulations informatiques et sur des calculs numériques. Dans les systèmes complexes, où de nombreux composants interagissent pour le bon fonctionnement du système, le dimensionnement optimal du composant dépend nécessairement de son environnement systémique. La conception de celui-ci est fortement liée au fonctionnement du système global. La conception intégré du composant dans son environnement systémique permet ainsi de repousser les limites de l'efficacité énergétique, pour des systèmes plus performants et moins consommateurs. En support à ce contexte méthodologique, nous proposons de dimensionner par optimisation un moteur électrique pour un véhicule hybride dans le but d'améliorer l'efficacité énergétique globale du véhicule. Dans ce travail, nous avons modélisé le moteur électrique par un schéma réluctant, et nous proposons deux approches méthodologiques différentes du même problème. Les points clés de notre approche sont : la prise en compte de l'environnement du moteur, du cycle de fonctionnement et de la gestion de l'énergie du système. The improvement of computational capabilities allows researchers to improve models and complexity of the optimization problem. In transportation applications, electrical machines are subjected to a large panel of operating points. Moreover, for hybrid vehicles, the sizing problem involves a control problem as a sub-optimization problem (power sharing between electric and thermal transmission). Therefore, a joint optimization of the energy management and sizing of the EM over a driving cycle shall be considered. The paper presents the modelling of the electrical machine based on magnetic circuit equivalence.

The paper proposes an optimal component sizing process taking into account the entire system, using an optimal energy management, in order to minimize the fuel consumption on a driving cycle. This optimization approach of the HEV uses Radial Basis Function (RBF) models which allow a fast constrained optimization.
