The internationalization brought about by online finding aids and the United States' expanding diverse population necessitates a renewed focus on representation and accessibility in archival research. The accessibility of archival resources depends on the language in which the content is offered to the public. Throughout the United States, the Spanish-speaking population continues to grow. Employees in the University of North Texas Special Collections department obtained grant funding to translate finding aids and digital exhibits into Spanish, with an emphasis on finding a translation solution that offered a balance between cost and quality (i.e., readability and accuracy). This article discusses possible options for translation, including translation vendors, Office 365, and DeepL; findings of the project, with specifics about the cost-effectiveness and quality of each option; and general advice to other institutions interested in undertaking translation projects, regardless of available resources. The fruit and vegetable sector produce waste significantly, causing social, environmental, and economic loss. Thus, a study was conducted at Pasig Mega Market, Pasig City to describe the fruit and vegetable vendors' waste management practices. Vendors and government employees participated in focus group discussions and key informant interviews. Results showed an average of 100-200 kilograms of waste were collected in the market daily, with leafy vegetables, watermelon, melon, and saba as common types. Focus group discussions revealed that discounted prices for suboptimal items, quality assurance methods, adherence to First-In-First-Out principles, and marketing strategies were the vendors' efforts to reduce waste. The identified approaches in handling wastes were, giving them as animal feed, creating alternative products, and returning damaged products to suppliers. Key informant interviews disclosed that the local government and market administration practices in waste management were composting and donation as animal feed for the local zoo. Moreover, it revealed improvement in the management of implementing the ordinances. Problems encountered were focused on supplier issues, weather, market competition, and consumer preferences. Overall, their waste management reduces food waste disposed of in landfills. Recommended strategies for vendors and administration are valorizing food waste, organizing awareness and livelihood programs, and conducting regular evaluations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: This paper aims to explore the increasing importance of the intraorganizational dimension of the sales role (IDSR) based on service-ecosystem theory. Specifically, it examines how firms can improve interactions both internally and with external actors and stakeholders to both create and sustain advantageous "thin crossing points" (Hartmann et al. 2018). Academic research on sales ecosystems has yet to fully harness the rich insights and potential afforded by the crossing-point perspective. Design/methodology/approach: After developing and unpacking the paper's guiding conceptual framework (Figure 1), the authors focus on crossing points and the diversity of interactions between the contemporary sales force and its many stakeholders. They examine the sales literature, identify opportunities for thinning sales crossing points and propose dozens of research questions and needs. Findings: The paper examines the importance of improving interactions both within and outside the vendor firm to thin crossing points, further develops the concept of the "sales ecosystem" and contributes a series of important research questions for future examination. Research limitations/implications: The paper focuses on applying "thick" and "thin" crossing points, a key element of Hartman et al. (2018). The primary limitation of the paper is that it focuses solely on the crossing-points perspective and does not consider other applications of Hartman et al. (2018). Practical implications: This work informs managers of the need to improve interactions both within and outside the firm by thinning crossing points. Improving relationships with stakeholders will improve many vendor firm and customer outcomes, including performance. Originality/value: Integrating findings from the literature, the authors propose a conceptual framework to encompass the entire diversity of idiosyncratic interactions as well as long-term relationships the sales force experiences. They discuss the strategic importance of thinning crossing points as well as the competitive disadvantages, even peril, "thick" crossing points create. A Business-to-Business commercial (B2B) transaction is different from normal retail transactions with customers. Organisations engage with each other and vendors in a specific manner in a B2B purchase environment. Organisations, big or small, spend money to keep up with their business operations. This requires them to deal with many other business units called vendors/suppliers to help them with necessary input resources for their business operations. In B2B transactions, organisations deal with each other to purchase goods and services. These associations work on long-term business relationships. The vendor organisations hire sales teams and relationship managers to work with the client organisation in order to maintain healthy business relationships. It is a point of debate whether the relationship that exists between the vendor and the client is because of the personnel who is responsible for the relationship or is it the vendor organisation as a whole that has built its capability and experience over the years has been successful in maintaining business relationships with the client. A client who engages with a vendor will have certain criteria for selection and engagement with a vendor. With this view, we have decided to study this phenomenon by comparing the two factors – sales person’s relationship and vendor’s capability and check which of the two factors influences the awarding of contracts from the clients. Purchase is more process driven it evaluates the vendors strongly on their capability to deliver on the purchase terms. The data analysis and the hypothesis testing results obtained indicate that evaluating vendors by their capabilities for awarding contracts is a more pragmatic way of supplier selection. Consignment stocks agreement had been very useful in inventory control. The benefit ranges from improved cash flow, reduced risk level, savings on investment, reduced ownership cost, low inventory carrying cost and regular restocking to mention few. Also, small batch delivery is an effective strategy for launching a product since it enables a business to assess the market and validate the product before committing to a large production run. In this paper, we combined small batch delivery and consignment stock policy by considering a supply chain setting where a vendor fulfilled the shipment requirement of each buyer sequentially in a single production set up. To achieve this, and as against the equal size shipments policy assumed in literature for different buyers, the vendor sends a smaller shipment first as early entry, followed by n equal shipments. These n shipments are proportionately increased according to the vendor rate of production to each buyer's demand rate. A mathematical cost function is developed to reduce the overall cost of the integrated supply chain system through the optimal cycle time and the optimal numbers of shipments to be delivered to each buyer. Numerical example is given using data from an existing literature, results were compared, and the new distribution policy gives better financial savings in terms of cost over the equal shipment policy assumed in literature. Purpose: The purpose of this work is to draw future research directions on how to ease adoption of continuous delivery (CD) for business-to-business (b2b) critical infrastructure products. CD is a recognized software lifecycle management practice reducing go-to-market time, strengthening customer feedback loop, and improving product quality. Telecommunication networks, considered critical infrastructure, are sensitive to changes in delivery models. Design/methodology/approach: Literature review was performed by combining bibliometric analysis and the own model gauging telecom software vendors’ interest in shaping CD practices across the industry. Findings: The research is skewed toward engineering practices excellence. Little is spent on the customer challenges. Transformation slowdowns are attributed to product teams. Research limitations/implications: Some software vendors, especially smaller ones, may prefer not to publish the outcomes before validating them with the customers. This work looked at publicly available materials therefore not capturing the picture of internal corporate experimentation on continuous delivery. Practical implications: Scientists should seek access to customer perspective. Sales, services, and business managers may be invaluable proxies of such information. This article argues that street food was an essential part of the social reproduction of Mombasa's working class during the colonial period. Like in other expanding capitalist cities, as Mombasa grew, urban workers lived further from their place of employment, which meant they could not return home for their midday meal. Street-food vendors provided them lunch at low prices in convenient locations, and therefore reproduced the working day by provisioning the calories that bridged morning to afternoon. However, postwar municipal authorities also wanted to create a particular kind of urban society in which the 'informal' activities of street-food vendors did not fit, and tried to expel them from the city's streets. As these campaigns unfolded, an unresolved contradiction emerged between this elite view of Mombasa, and the reality that the services vendors provided were necessary for the reproduction of the city's economy. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations play an increasingly important role in investment decisions. Due to data vendors’ lack of a common framework for creating ESG ratings, substantial disparities exist across vendors in their ESG ratings for the same company. ESG rating disparities make it difficult to assess whether ESG ratings are aligned with companies’ ESG performance and how ESG investing affects investment performance. This presents challenges to asset owners, policymakers, academics, and asset managers. This article highlights the nature and sources of the ESG rating disparities and advises investors to understand these aspects of noisy ESG ratings and to exercise caution when implementing ESG integration. The authors propose a model based on statistical learning techniques to predict unreported corporate greenhouse gas emissions that generates considerably better results than existing approaches. The model uses one linear learner and one nonlinear learner only, which reduces its complexity to the minimum required. An iterative approach to detecting and correcting data significantly improves the model predictions. Unlike mainstream approaches, which tend to construct one model for each industry, we construct one single global model that uses industry as a factor. This addresses the problem of lack of breadth or lack of reported data in some sectors and generates practical results even for industries where other approaches have failed. We show results for Scope 1 and Scope 2 corporate carbon emissions. Adapting the framework to Scope 3 will be the focus of a future article. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article aims to explain the influence of vendor cognition and advertise cognition on vendor usage intention mediated by positive attitude towards of vendor. The literature review was conducted to identify the variables that build the conceptual model. The expected findings are that there is a positive relationship between vendor perception and positive attitude towards vendor usage intentions and a positive relationship between advertise cognitive and positive attitude towards vendor usage intentions. This study also explains the dimensions of familiarity, credibility, and trust that produce vendor cognition. Furthermore, this study also explains the dimensions of entertain, creativity, and informative that produces advertise cognition. This study provides an alternative conceptual model in the field of consumer behavioral. Researchers hope this research can provide an understanding to wedding marketers to design effective marketing strategies to influence potential consumers. The article presents a survey on investment securities under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) focusing on the case re Karcredit LLC, wherein a secured lender's protected purchaser status was considered after a wrongfully invalidated stock collateral. The court found the issuer of the certified stock liable for the first lender's lost of first-priority security position in the stock and damages equal to the value of debt secured. The potential harms of conflicting property rights are discussed.

Roadside vendors survive from the traffic of tourists along major tourists' routes in the country selling different wares. The study was stimulated by need to avert product marketing challenges faced by roadside vendors vending curios and crafts. It was also prompted by the need to improve the livelihoods of the roadside vendors who are working from unsuitable environments and to expose their products to a broader pool of potential customers. The study focused on the case of Vumba road from Mutare to Leopard Rock hotel. Data was collected by conducting interviews with roadside vendors along the route and it was analysed qualitatively. The thrust of the paper is to find how online marketing strategies can be harnessed by the roadside vendors to improve their business through capturing more customers. The results showed that the vendors do not use online marketing strategies in their business; they lacked better marketing strategies for their products. The researchers proposed development of an online marketing application that can be used by roadside vendors to improve their business linking them with tourists. This paper examines the contribution of out-of-town second-house buyers to mispricing in the housing market. We show that demand from out-of-town second-house buyers during the mid 2000s predicted not only house-price appreciation rates but also impliedto- actual-rent-ratio appreciation rates, a proxy for mispricing. We then apply a novel identification strategy to address the issue of reverse causality. We give supporting evidence that out-of-town second-house buyers behaved like misinformed speculators, earning lower capital gains (misinformed) and consuming smaller dividends (speculators). Road-side vendors work every day along the roadsides and rarely have any break. They are at the highest risk of the exposure to vehicular and industrial emissions. Road dust and unfavourable weather conditions harm them due to their long working-shifts. Because of long working duration at road-sides they are under high respiratory health risks. In present cross-sectional comparative study, major ambient air pollutants (PM2.5, PM10, NO2 and SO2) had been monitored and recorded at two study locations. Air pollution induced respiratory health issues developed in the vendors working at industrial city Gajraula had been studied during January-February 2019. The annual average means of PM2.5, PM10, NO2 and SO2 air pollutants were significantly higher at exposed site compared to the control site. There were high incidences of ill-respiratory symptoms among road-side vendors working at the exposed sites. The symptoms of cough, phlegm, headache and eye irritation were significantly higher in the participants from exposed site compared to the control site. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this two‐part case study, Part 1 provides the overall context and the performance analysis component of this transformational project to tie learning to quantifiable metrics of performance improvement. The ubiquitous nature of the internet has made it easier for criminals to carry out illegal activities online. The sale of illegal firearms and weaponry on dark web cryptomarkets is one such example of it. To aid the law enforcement agencies in curbing the illicit trade of firearms on cryptomarkets, this paper has proposed an automated technique employing ensemble machine learning models to detect the firearms listings on cryptomarkets. In this work, we have used part-of-speech (PoS) tagged features in conjunction with n-gram models to construct the feature set for the ensemble model. We studied the effectiveness of the proposed features in the performance of the classification model and the relative change in the dimensionality of the feature set. The experiments and evaluations are performed on the data belonging to the three popular cryptomarkets on the Tor dark web from a publicly available dataset. The prediction of the classification model can be utilized to identify the key vendors in the ecosystem of the illegal trade of firearms. Amidst the pandemic, Filipinos enjoy eating on the street, which creates and replicates Filipino cuisine in every corner with various exotic dishes and foods. This study aims to determine the coping mechanism among Nasipit Port vendors during the COVID-19 pandemic. ffis study employed the descriptive survey meffod conducted among different vendors located in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, particularly in Barangay Talisay, Nasipit Port. The respondents of the study were a total of 29 vendors. The study followed an effical standard by giving a survey questionnaire to the respondents with an attached inform consent form to protect the conffdentiality of their information. The ffndings of the study revealed that among the four (4) areas such as product, price, place and promotion, the price has the major distribution of responses which means that coping mechanisms in this area were being used and applied by different vendors to keep their business survive. Threfore, coping mechanism in price, affordable and can be bought by people in the average class, exact to people expectations and enough to gain a profft and capital back, bring a big contribution as it helps them to maintain their business operation during diffcult times given by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was recommended that vendors should provide beneffts such as food feed daily by people, students, workers, shoppers, and travelers on a low income that is relatively cheap and effctively available. The article presents reflections on the bill on the protection of the rights of a purchaser of residential premises or a single-family house and on the Developer Guarantee Fund, Parliamentary printed matter no. 985. According to the bill drafter, the proposed changes are a response to "bankruptcies of property developer businesses and related financial losses of those who have purchased residential premises or houses through these businesses". A number of provisions of the Act, the structure of which remains unclear, give rise to numerous interpretation disputes and significantly undermine the certainty of legal dealings. Firstly, there is no regulation regarding the supervision of the developer guarantee fund and its legal status. The regulation regarding the developer guarantee fund is scarce compared to that of the Bank Guarantee Fund, thus leaving significant room for abuse. Secondly, the bill is significantly defective in its lacking any method for calculating the contribution depending on the level of risk of a given developer going bankrupt. The article discusses the AAT decision which illustrates the difficulties that can be encountered where a taxpayer seeks to challenge an assessment and relevant evidence is lacking. Topics discussed include the Commissioner assessed the taxpayer company on the basis that the sale by the company in July and August 2018; and the Commissioner expressed the view that, because the company was, quite apart from activities in relation to the land, carrying on an enterprise for GST purposes.

Purpose: This article aims to determine the significance of cooperation between final purchasers and offerors in the process of creating a marketing offer, as well as identify the dependencies between this cooperation and purchasers’ trust in products, according to the scope of purchasers’ involvement in their preparation. Design/methodology/approach: The results of a cognitive-critical analysis of the world literature on the subject indicate a cognitive and research gap in this area. Until now, cooperation between final purchasers and offerors has not been examined in the context of mutual trust. In order to reduce the gap, empirical studies were conducted, in which a questionnaire was used to gather primary data. The data was subjected to a quantitative analysis, including statistical analysis. Findings: The results made it possible to verify three research hypotheses and draw conclusions of cognitive and applicability value. Statistically significant dependencies were identified between respondents’ trust in products and three analysed variables reflecting their attitudes towards cooperation with offerors and their prosumptive behaviours. The relatively strongest dependence is visible between trust in products according to the scope of respondents’ involvement in their preparation and respondents’ willingness to cooperate with producers. Research limitations/implications: The research has certain limitations, such as its subjective and objective scope. It comprised only adult final purchasers and the analysis comprised only selected aspects of cooperation between final purchasers and offerors. Originality/value: The results of the research contribute to the theory and practice of marketing and consumer behaviour, reducing the cognitive and research gap in the analysis of this cooperation in the context of trust in products. Through its website, Amazon.com retails its own products as well as those of nearly three million third-party vendors through the Amazon Marketplace. With few exceptions, courts have concluded Amazon.com should not be considered a "seller" for purposes of strict products liability for products sold through its online Marketplace. In many cases, this leaves consumers without recourse for injuries suffered due to defective products purchased through Amazon.com, since many of these third-party vendors cannot be located. This article raises the question of whether Amazon.com, as a matter of public policy, should be subject to liability since it can better absorb the cost of compensating for injuries resulting from defects. This article concludes that courts and legislatures need to recognize that traditional methods of selling products to consumers have been upended by companies such as Amazon.com and the laws need to be updated to reflect the new methods by which Amazon. com places potentially defective products into the stream of commerce.
