The main objective of this paper is to analyze the relationship between women's football and lesbianism during the 1970s in Spain as well as the invisibility characteristics of this group of women in the context of the invisibility of women's football in this period and in the context of the political transition until 1982. In the repressive context of late Francoism and given the validity until 1978 of laws that expressly persecuted homosexuality, social, cultural, legal, and political pressure had a very important impact on lesbian women who participated in the incipient practice of football in Spain in the 1970s. Some of these players built gay social networks through sports clubs and later started clandestine meetings in bars and private celebrations. The period studied—between 1970 and 1982—coincided with the rebirth of women's football in Spain and the international emergence of this sport. The research has been based on the use of in-depth interview as a method and historiographical technique that has allowed us to obtain the life stories of nine lesbian or heterosexual women football players in different Spanish cities (who in general have lived and live in a private sexual identity) and two coaches linked to women's teams. These sources have been expanded and contrasted from others of a documentary nature (specialized press and bibliography) to reconstruct the context studied and contrast the reliability of the information collected. In conclusion, it has been established that, despite the low visibility of women's football and homosexuality, the legal pressure of the period and the opposition of the public authorities and institutions of the dictatorship, the field of football allowed these women to overcome some of the difficulties in the process of building their identity and discrimination based on sexual orientation. In turn, support networks—especially of teammates—private parties and atmosphere bars, were fundamental to the life experience of young lesbian athletes in the still repressive context of the end of the Franco dictatorship and the first years of the young democratic regime in Spain. BACKGROUND: Percutaneous vertebroplasty is the most widely used method for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, and most studies have concluded that percutaneous vertebroplasty increases the probability of adjacent vertebral secondary compression fractures in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. However, controversy remains regarding the risk factors associated with adjacent vertebral re-fracture caused after percutaneous vertebroplasty. OBJECTIVE: To summarize the influencing factors of adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, in order to provide a certain reference for reducing the risk of its occurrence as well as formulating the corresponding treatment plan. METHODS: Using “osteoporosis, fracture, percutaneous vertebroplasty, adjacent vertebral compression fractures, risk factors” as the Chinese search terms, “osteoporosis, osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures, percutaneous vertebroplasty, adjacent vertebral compression fractures, risk factors” as English search terms, computerized searches were conducted on CNKI, Wanfang Medical Network, VIP, PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and Elsevier databases. The search timeframe focuses on January 2018 through September 2023, with the inclusion of a few classic forward literature. The literature was screened by reading the titles and abstracts, and 83 papers were finally included in the review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures are one of the most common complications of osteoporosis, placing elderly patients at a significant risk of disability and death. Percutaneous vertebroplasty is a practical and effective treatment for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. (2) With the popularity of percutaneous vertebroplasty, its secondary vertebral compression fractures have gradually increased, with adjacent vertebral compression fractures being the most common. (3) Previous studies have only discussed the effects of factors such as bone mineral density, multiple vertebral fractures, body mass index, age, sex, amount of bone cement, cement leakage, and anti-osteoporosis treatment on secondary compression fractures of adjacent vertebrae after percutaneous vertebroplasty, and summarized the number of vertebral fractures, timing of the operation, surgical approach, cement material, diffuse distribution of bone cement, recovery height of the injured vertebrae, and wearing of a support after surgery, which is not yet comprehensive. The analysis of the specific mechanisms of risk factor-induced adjacent vertebral fractures is relatively rare. (4) The results of the article showed that low bone mineral density, advanced age, perimenopausal women, multiple vertebral fractures, excessive recovery of the height of the injured vertebrae, cement leakage, comorbid underlying diseases, and poor lifestyle habits were the risk factors for secondary adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty, and that maintaining a normal body mass index, early surgery, bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty, use of a new type of cement material, an appropriate volume of bone cement injection and uniform cement dispersion, regular anti-osteoporosis treatment, and postoperative brace wearing are protective factors for secondary adjacent vertebral compression fractures after percutaneous vertebroplasty. Background: Radical cystectomy in women generally includes the removal of the uterus, ovaries, and anterior vaginal wall, but the criteria for reproductive organ sparing are not clear. Methods: A total of 2674 patients with bladder cancer were retrospectively reviewed, having undergone cystectomy at this nationwide multicenter from January 2013 to December 2019. We evaluated the incidence of malignancy in reproductive organs in a cohort of 417 women and analyzed the clinicopathological features of reproductive organ involvement. Recurrence-free survival and overall survival were reported using Kaplan–Meier survival curves. Results: Median follow-up was 36.9 months. Of the 417 patients with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, 325 underwent hysterectomy, and 92 had a spared uterus and anterior wall of the vagina. Twenty-nine (8.9%) patients exhibited reproductive organ involvement; this consisted of 22 (6.8%) uteri, 16 (4.9%) vaginas, and two (0.6%) ovaries. Incidental primary reproductive malignancies were found in only two (0.6%) patients. Recurrence-free survival and overall survival were significantly shorter in patients with reproductive organ involvement than in those without. Patients with reproductive organ involvement were more likely to have tumors with ≥ cT3 or sub-localization at the posterior/trigone/bladder neck. Conclusions: The risk of reproductive organ involvement cannot be ignored in women undergoing radical cystectomy for urothelial carcinoma of the bladder, therefore, the eligibility criteria for reproductive organ preservation should be considered carefully. BACKGROUND Evidence has indicated that nocturia is a clinical manifestation of adverse health conditions, including cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders. However, previous studies are less available for the clinical implication of nocturia on the development of hypertension. METHODS Study participants were 32,420 working-aged Koreans (21,355 men and 11,065 women) who periodically received health checkups. They were categorized into 4 groups by the frequency of nocturia (never, <1, 1–2, and ≥3/week). We used Cox proportional hazards models to analyze the multivariable-adjusted hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for incident hypertension (multivariable-adjusted HR [95% CI]) in relation to the frequency of nocturia. Subgroup analysis was conducted by gender and sleep quality (good and poor sleep quality). RESULTS In women, nocturia was associated with an increased risk of hypertension, compared with never nocturia (HR [95% CI]; never: reference, <1/week: 1.33 [1.10–1.60], 1–2/week: 1.26 [1.00–1.58], and ≥3/week: 1.34 [1.05–1.72]). This association was not observed in men (HR [95% CI]; never: reference, <1/week: 1.00 [0.93–1.08], 1–2/week: 1.00 [0.88–1.12], and ≥3/week: 1.06 [0.94–1.23]). In subgroup analysis by sleep quality, only women with good sleep quality showed an association between nocturia and the risk of hypertension. However, women with poor sleep quality and men did not show an association between the frequency of nocturia and the risk of hypertension. Objective Methods Results Conclusion It is extremely important for healthcare professionals to protect patients' privacy during diagnosis and treatment processes related to gynecology and obstetrics and to warn them in case patients' privacy is violated. This study was aimed at determining attitudes of female patients having obstetrics examination towards privacy and raising their awareness of privacy.This cross‐sectional‐descriptive study was conducted with 410 patients who presented to the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient clinic of a university hospital. The survey form consisted of two forms: The descriptive characteristics questionnaire and the body privacy scale for gynecology and obstetrics (BPSGO). Frequency tables, descriptive statistics, Mann–Whitney U‐test, Kruskal–Wallis H‐test, and Bonferroni correction were used in the analysis of the data.The mean age of the participants was 36.75 ± 11.18 years. Of these, 38.0% were in the age group of ≥40 years, 84.0% were married, 66.8% presented to the gynecology clinic, and 58.3% had negative emotions before they had gynecologic examination. Ethics and privacy subscale scores of the single participants were significantly higher than were those of the married participants.It was determined that privacy was affected by cultural characteristics, belief systems and personal values, and that most of the participants were likely to experience negative emotions. It is important to raise health professionals' awareness of privacy by drawing their attention to the value of privacy which is among ethical values in their education and to support the better functioning of legal regulations on this issue. ABSTRACT Although body image is one of the essential concepts that should be addressed in comprehensive care, the question of how body image affects women with schizophrenia remains unanswered. This study aimed to explore the body image experiences of women living with schizophrenia. This study employed a qualitative approach and participants were recruited from a community mental health center in Türkiye. Semi‐structured interviews were conducted with 18 women with schizophrenia. Data were analysed via content analysis. The data were categorised into five themes: (i) body image evaluation, (ii) factors affecting body image, (iii) effects of body image distortion, (iv) coping with body image challenges and (v) protective factors. Schizophrenia affects body functionality, appearance and the self. Women living with schizophrenia experience feelings of shame, sadness, worthlessness and anger related to their body appearance. Body image distortion leads to social distancing and treatment compliance problems. Mental health nurses should support patients to express their feelings and thoughts about the body and recognise their beliefs about ideal body image. Patients should be supported with psychoeducational interventions in the management of symptoms associated with body image disturbance such as weight gain, galactorrhea, sedation and hypersalivation. Background: The health literacy and numeracy skills of women in Pakistan are very low compared to other low- and middle-income countries. Objective: The aim of this study was to improve the health literacy and numeracy skills of unschooled women in Northern Pakistan by developing a Maternal and Child Health Calendar (MCHC). The MCHC utilizes locally contextualized icons to promote and enhance service utilization and maternal and child health (MCH) outcomes. Methods: We conducted a qualitative exploratory study design to understand the experiences and usefulness of the MCHC among women. We recruited the participants using purposive sampling. Using a semi-structured interview guide, we conducted individual interviews with nine Key informants, that is, Agha Khan Rural Support Staff and Community-based savings group staff and five focus group discussions with unschooled women. We followed Braun and Clarke's steps to conduct an inductive thematic data analysis. Results: The findings of our study are categorized into the following themes: (1) the benefits of using MCHC, (2) the usefulness of the MCHC in women's healthcare decision-making, (3) empowerment of poorly schooled women, (4) enabling numeracy and record-keeping skills, (5) MCHC implementation challenges, and (6) participants suggestions to improve the MCHC. Our findings revealed that the MCHC improved the health literacy and numeracy of illiterate or less educated women by using localized images to help them comprehend their own and their children's health. Additionally, it effectively empowered these women in their healthcare decision-making, such as discussing family planning with their husbands. Women also suggested modifying some images in the MCHC to enhance their clarity and usefulness. Conclusion: The MCHC has the potential to safely and sustainably build basic MCH literacy and numeracy skills among both literate and illiterate women in Northern Pakistan. Further research is needed to assess its potential as a stand-alone intervention to improve MCH outcomes. In Victorian fiction, the Greek woman often appears as a representation of modern Greece, with the 1821 War of Independence as a backdrop. When the novel A Modern Greek Heroine appeared in 1880, the Morning Post naturally noted that 'this is not, as might possibly be supposed from its title, the biography of any champion of Hellenic independence, but a novel of English life' (3). Henry Cresswell, the novel's author, imagined an alternative universe for his heroine. In A Modern Greek Heroine, Bourbachokátzouli has lost her father and connection to her homeland and is haunted not by the ghost of a lost cause but by a man suspected of insanity in a trajectory that brings her to Britain to seek employment as a governess. Cresswell drew inspiration from revolutionary Crete, giving his main protagonist the highly distinctive name of a real-life woman warrior from Sfakia, yet his Bourbachokátzouli is both an unconventional 'modern Greek heroine', resenting many elements of her Greek past, and an untypical Victorian governess harnessing the heroic in herself. Employed as a French governess in Britain and received as an untruthful Greek, she discovers heroism in self-abnegation, exposes late-Victorian society's limitations, subverts stereotypes, and finally finds herself in a position of power. Objective: To investigate the feasibility of transvaginal posterior levatorplasty combined with perineoplasty (TPLP) for women with primary stress urinary incontinence and demonstrate the surgical technique with step-by-step procedures. Methods: A prospective, non-randomised study was conducted using technique of TPLP to treat female primary SUI from January 2019 to December 2021. Patient follow-up was performed at 3 and 12 months posteroperatively. A series of validated questionnaires were used to evaluate the improvement of symptom severity, sexual function and quality of life. In addition, 4-D ultrasonography was used to measure the anatomic changes of pelvic structures. Results: A total of 47 patients were enrolled in this study with a mean age of 43.6 years. Mean operative time was 78.7 min. Median estimated intraoperative blood loss was 80.2 ml. Objective cure and subjective cure rates were 87.2% and 91.5%, respectively. Compared with baseline, scores of quality of life, symptom severity and sexual function improved after surgery. Meanwhile, mobility of the urethra and bladder neck and areas of levator hiatus were decreased after surgery. Mild coitus pain was reported in 15.4% (6/39) patients at the initial several times of intercourse after resuming sexual activity. Conclusions: This study shows that transvaginal posterior levatorplasty combined with perineoplasty appears to be an effective surgical method for selected women with primary stress urinary incontinence. Etem İzzet Benice, one of the acclaimed authors of the Republican Era, manifests the influences of his professional life and ideology in his novels. The fact that he is a journalist enables him to publish his works as tefrikas, and he writes his novels special emphasis attached to events, with more limited descriptions, and with the aim of presenting them to the public. The most important theme in his literary works is especially the fact that 'women' are the stirred group in a developing society because of the fact that he was grown up with the ideology of the Republic and made his ideas known to the public. Newspaper, love-adventure themes and reader-oriented novels make Etem İzzet Benice a renowned literary writer. Benice, who writes serials in a way to stimulate the public's world of feeling and imagination, publishes his serials as books with the appreciation of the readers. These novels, which deal with subjects that appeal to the readership of the period, present a structure that contains the general characteristics of popular novels. Benice, who stresses on social and ideological theses while appealing to the readership of the period, expands the thematic framework of his novels by dealing not only with love and adventure, but also with national and historical issues. In his novels, Etem İzzet creates a strong bond with the reader as he tries to present what is from the people in the same period. This bond is established especially with women with the effect of the thematic structure of the works. Because in his popular works, he emphasizes different types of female characters and reflects their fondness, passionate passions, upright stances, their efforts in the national struggle and the wounds they received with the changing society. Etem İzzet Benice's novels quickly became a means of uptake by the readers and Etem İzzet Benice continued to open newspapers with the financial rewards he received in this direction and gave his works in this direction. This paper aims to discuss the social role assigned to women through the narratives of She-Ra and Boruto's animations, making connections with the locations where they were created. Boruto and She-Ra were chosen because they were released and completed in relatively close periods and produced in different parts of the world--East and West, respectively. The goal is to establish a relationship between the narratives of these animations and the cultural aspects related to gender roles in the countries that produced them, identify whether an animation can carry gender-related biases, and discuss the different perceptions of women's roles in the West and the East, using She-Ra and Boruto as examples. As a result, it is possible to observe how animations are influenced by gender issues and how they affect and are connected to the lives of various people. Although it is impossible to assert a causal relationship between the region producing the animation and the presence or absence of biases, this work highlights that animations are influenced by their social environment. One of the primary goals of Franco's education policy was to train the working class in the doctrinal principles of the regime. Labour Universities were one of the education institutions created for this purpose; there were three for women (Zaragoza, Cáceres and Huesca). This article focuses on analysing the purposes sought by these macro-institutions when training working-class women, using diverse primary sources: documentary, audiovisual, archive and legal. Findings indicate that Women's Labour Universities aimed to provide specialised vocational training and also to impose the doctrine of the ideological principles advocated by the regime in relation to the model of women. However, these goals were somewhat incompatible as providing women with vocational training promoted their emancipation, contrary to the female ideal mainly advocated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Although some recent studies have examined the health of female Gulf War (GW) deployed and non-deployed GW era veterans, these all relied on self-report, which can be inaccurate and subject to recall bias. This study investigated the current health of GW deployed and non-deployed GW era female and male veterans using Veterans Health Administration (VHA) electronic health records (EHR). Methods: We performed a cohort study of deployed GW and non-deployed GW era veterans, identified from a list from the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). We used the VA-Frailty Index (VA-FI), calculated with VHA administrative claims and EHR, as a proxy measure of current health. Results: We identified 402,869 veterans (351,496 GW deployed; 51,3373 non-deployed GW era; 38,555 female) in VHA databases. Deployed female veterans had the highest VA-FI (i.e., were frailest) despite being younger than deployed and non-deployed male veterans and non-deployed female veterans. Compared with deployed male veterans, deployed females were more likely to be pre-frail, mildly, and moderately frail. Health differences between deployed and non-deployed female veterans were more prominent among older (60+ years) than younger (<60 years) veterans. Conclusions: Mirroring reports from recent, smaller survey studies of users and non-users of VA health care, findings from this cohort study indicate that deployed female GW veterans who use VA health care are frailer and have more health deficits than non-deployed female GW era and deployed male GW veterans. Because deployed female GW veterans appear to have additional health care needs, this may warrant increased outreach from women's clinics at VA hospitals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background Many patients may be tempted to use non-pharmacological home remedies (NPHRs) to relieve various complaints. To the best of our knowledge, there is little data on the characteristics of patients using NPHRs. In this cross-sectional study carried out between March 2020 and July 2021, we examined the socio-demographic factors underlying their use in patient populations in Switzerland and France. Methods Using official registries, we randomly selected 50 primary care physicians (PCPs) in Geneva (Switzerland) and Lyon/Grenoble (France). Seven research assistants consecutively recruited patients from PCP waiting rooms (20–25 patients per practice). Patients completed a paper-based questionnaire assessing the use [yes/no] of 304 NPHRs for 79 medical conditions. The NPHR list was developed by our team with input from 97 patients. We used univariable and multivariable logistic regressions, adjusting for intra-cluster correlations, to examine associations between NPHR use and patient characteristics (gender, age, practice location, nationality, education level, and self-rated health). Results Of the 1198 eligible patients, 1012 agreed to participate (85%). Overall, 635 patients (63%) reported using at least one of the remedies tested in the study. In multivariable analysis, women (OR = 1.7 [95%CI = 1.3–2.3], P -value < 0.001), younger patients (< 40 years: OR = 2.1 [95%CI = 1.6–2.9], P -value < 0.001), and French patients (OR = 1.6 [95%CI = 1.1–2.3], P -value < 0.001) tended to use NPHRs more often than other patients. Conclusions Many patients, particularly women, young people, and French patients, reported using NPHRs. This survey's findings hold the potential to inform healthcare providers, policymakers, and researchers about the diverse preferences that shape patients' healthcare choices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To identify factors influencing women's perceptions of traumatic childbirth (TCP) and to determine the relationship between TCP, desire to avoid pregnancy, and sexual quality of life. Methods: A descriptive and correlational research study was designed. Data were collected from 225 women aged between 18 and 45 years old. A Demographic Information Form, the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy Scale (DAP), the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire‐Female (SQLQ‐F), and the Perception of Traumatic Childbirth Scale (PTCS) were used for data collection. Results: Women who were not employed, had given birth previously, and did not plan their last pregnancy tended to have higher levels of TCP. Conversely, women who did not experience health problems in their last pregnancy and recalled their last childbirth as very comfortable and happy tended to have lower levels of TCP. A very weak, statistically significant, positive correlation was found between the mean DAP and PTCS scores (r = 0.168, P < 0.05). A very weak, statistically significant, negative correlation was found between the mean SQLQ‐F and PTCS sores (r = −0.138, P < 0.05). A 1‐unit increase in TCP was associated with a 0.005‐unit increase in the desire to avoid pregnancy and a 0.094‐unit decrease in sexual quality of life. Conclusion: TCP in women is associated with an increase in the desire to avoid pregnancy and a decrease in sexual quality of life. It is recommended to identify women with high levels of TCP, determine factors contributing to this perception, and plan appropriate nursing interventions accordingly. Purpose: Sleep disturbances, which are common during pregnancy, may compromise labor. Nevertheless, little is known about associations between sleep disturbances and the likelihood of ending up induction of labor (IOL). Accordingly, we aimed to evaluate the connections between sleep disturbances during pregnancy and IOL. Methods: Altogether 1778 women from the FinnBrain Birth Cohort Study with gestation weeks over 37 + 6 were enrolled in the study. The women were divided into IOL (n = 331) and spontaneous onset of labor (SOL, n = 1447) groups. Sleep disturbances in late pregnancy were evaluated using the Basic Nordic Sleep Questionnaire. Logistic regression analyses were conducted with adjustments for age, body mass index, parity, smoking, and depressive symptoms. Results: Sleep disturbances were frequent in both IOL and SOL groups. In the IOL group 43.0% and in the SOL group 39.0% had poor general sleep quality (P = 0.186). Nocturnal awakenings occurred most commonly, in 94.0% and 93.9%, respectively (P = 0.653). In the IOL group, more women (22.7%) were habitual snorers than in the SOL group (17.0%, P = 0.017), however, the difference lost the statistical significance in adjusted analysis (P = 0.848). Women in the IOL group were more likely to be short sleepers (< 7 h) compared to those in the SOL group (20.2% and 15.4%, respectively, P = 0.034) with no difference after adjustment (P = 0.133). The two groups showed no differences in sleep loss (P = 0.252). Conclusions: Deterioration in sleep quality was noticeable in pregnant women, but it was unconnected with IOL. How does spirituality relate to ageing for Muslim women? The purpose of this study was to better understand the experience and intersections of ageing, spirituality, and health for Muslim women in Canada. This better understanding would be beneficial for care providers who may be unaware of the needs of ageing Muslim women. Four Muslim women, each in their fifties, participated in a qualitative, semi-structured interview. Seven themes were identified to be most relevant: Faith, identity, spiritual wisdom, accommodation, self-care, perceived judgement, and reconnecting the Muslim community. Women's problems seem to be a theme that society will never forget. This issue is further strengthened by the role of women which begins to roll along with the development of the times. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that as of 2022 there are 133,542,018 female residents in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the relationship between workplace spirituality and flourishing in women, with an overview of job status. Through a quantitative approach with a correlational method, this study was conducted on 304 women in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, both working and non-working. The results showed that workplace spirituality had a positive effect on flourishing in women, and job status moderated this influence. Working women had higher rates of flourishing than those who did not work, suggesting that job roles provide meaning in daily life that affects psychological well-being. These findings emphasize the importance of promoting workplace spirituality in creating a balance between personal and professional lives, as well as improving women's psychological well-being. Background: Pregnancy is a period of many changes in a woman's life, including those related to eating habits, taking care of health and fitness, as well as esthetic and psychological considerations. Methods: The study was conducted between January 2021 and December 2022. A questionnaire was used to conduct the study, the questions of which concerned eating habits, as well as perceptions of one's body and changes in appearance during pregnancy. Respondents filled out the questionnaire twice. The first survey was in the first two weeks after the doctor's confirmation of pregnancy and after the end of pregnancy, up to a maximum of 2 months after delivery. The purpose of the study was to evaluate changes in women's eating habits during pregnancy compared to before pregnancy to analyze the impact of pregnancy on women's body perception and attractiveness and self-confidence; furthermore, the study aimed to analyze the body mass index (BMI) of women before pregnancy and to compare weight gain during pregnancy depending on the initial BMI, taking into account different age groups. The values of measurable parameters were presented using the arithmetic mean, median, dominant and standard deviation. Non-measurable parameters were presented using percentages. The Chi2 test of homogeneity was used to examine differences between groups. Results: During pregnancy, respondents mostly ate five meals a day, increased the amount of vegetables and fruits in their diets, and ate their meals without rushing (defined as slowly, calmly and without measuring the time left until the end of the meal break). Respondents reduced their coffee intake during pregnancy, while they increased their water intake to about 2 L a day. In the survey, about 2% of respondents followed a weight-loss diet during pregnancy. Respondents who were more likely to take body circumference measurements equally often monitored their daily energy intake. Conclusion: Women changed their eating habits during pregnancy to healthier ones compared to before pregnancy. The women's eating habits and well-being were also not affected by their age. Also, there was no significant relationship between eating habits and well-being in pregnant women, regardless of their age. Abstract. Domestic Violence (DV) in the congregation is an unexpected event, but it still happens. This study aimed to examine the implementation of pastoral counseling in the congregation of the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) Maranatha Oebufu in Kupang City Classis, so that the congregation council can improve pastoral services for victims and perpetrators. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a narrative approach. The result of the study indicates that pastoral counseling activities by the church for congregations experiencing domestic violence are ineffective because they only reach understanding and are not continued with pastoral actions needed by victims and perpetrators. Abstrak. Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga (KDRT) dalam jemaat merupakan peristiwa yang tidak diharapkan, namun tetap terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pelaksanaan konseling pastoral pada jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT) Maranatha Oebufu di Klasis Kota Kupang, agar majelis jemaat dapat menyempurnakan pelayanan pastoral bagi korban dan pelaku. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan konseling pastoral oleh gereja terhadap jemaat yang mengalami KDRT kurang efektif karena hanya sampai pada pemahaman dan tidak dilanjutkan dengan aksi pastoral yang dibutuhkan oleh korban maupun pelaku.

Abstract Objective To investigate the feasibility of transvaginal posterior levatorplasty combined with perineoplasty (TPLP) for women with primary stress urinary incontinence and demonstrate the surgical technique with step-by-step procedures. Methods A prospective, non-randomised study was conducted using technique of TPLP to treat female primary SUI from January 2019 to December 2021. Patient follow-up was performed at 3 and 12 months posteroperatively. A series of validated questionnaires were used to evaluate the improvement of symptom severity, sexual function and quality of life. In addition, 4-D ultrasonography was used to measure the anatomic changes of pelvic structures. Results A total of 47 patients were enrolled in this study with a mean age of 43.6 years. Mean operative time was 78.7 min. Median estimated intraoperative blood loss was 80.2 ml. Objective cure and subjective cure rates were 87.2% and 91.5%, respectively. Compared with baseline, scores of quality of life, symptom severity and sexual function improved after surgery. Meanwhile, mobility of the urethra and bladder neck and areas of levator hiatus were decreased after surgery. Mild coitus pain was reported in 15.4% (6/39) patients at the initial several times of intercourse after resuming sexual activity. Conclusions This study shows that transvaginal posterior levatorplasty combined with perineoplasty appears to be an effective surgical method for selected women with primary stress urinary incontinence.

The article examines the peculiarities of objectification of the universal opposition «man – woman» in the German language based on lexicographic sources from different chronological periods. German language is interesting for studying this opposition because of its expanded nature, which is particularly evident within the «woman» component: «Mann – Frau / Weib». The analysis of interpretations of the concepts «man» and «woman» in German dictionaries reveals the processes of gender stereotyping reflected in them during different periods of language development. This allows us to understand the development of ideas about these concepts in a specific linguistic culture. The leading characteristics of men and women, as reflected in the semantics of key lexemes such as Mann, Frau and Weib, as well as adjectives derived from these words, are determined. Their cultural and historical context is explored. It is found that during the XVIII and XIX centuries, the concepts of «man» and «woman» consistently reflected the processes of gender stereotyping. However, gender stereotypes regarding women were more varied and complex. Starting in the XX century and especially in the XXI century, stereotypes have been presented to a lesser degree, with a noted neutralization of social oppositions within the considered opposition. It is observed that the opposition between man and woman in German initially had a dual nature, both socially and naturally. It is concluded that at present, in lexicographic sources, naturally oriented traits are the leading features of objectification in the «man-woman» opposition. The issue of the level of accuracy with which different concepts are reflected in explanatory dictionaries of the German language has been identified.

Abstract Background Intensive lifestyle interventions were effective to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) for women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) history. However, reaching these mothers and maintaining participation in lifestyle interventions is suboptimal in real-world settings. Effective, feasible and sustainable new lifestyle interventions are needed. The objectives of this three-arm trial are to (1) compare diabetes risk outcomes of an evidence-based intensive lifestyle modification (ILSM) intervention, a camp-style lifestyle modification program (CAMP) intervention, and usual care among women with GDM history; and (2) evaluate the comparative efficacy of the CAMP versus ILSM intervention on implementation outcomes. Methods A three-arm cluster randomized clinical trial (RCT) using a hybrid type 2 implementation design will be conducted in two counties in Hunan province in China. Six towns from each county will be randomly selected and assigned to CAMP, ILSM, and the usual care group (25 women from each of 12 towns, 100 women in each arm). The ILSM includes six biweekly in-person sessions and 3-month telephone health consultations, while the CAMP consists of a 2-day camp-based session and 3-month health consultations via a popular social media platform. Both interventions share the same session content, including six lifestyle skills. Efficacy (T2DM risk score and behavioral, anthropometric, psychosocial, and glycemic variables) and implementation outcomes (recruitment, acceptability, feasibility, fidelity, and cost-effectiveness) will be collected at baseline, 6-month, and 12-month. Pre-planned ANOVA F-test and generalized estimating equations will be included to test time-by-arm interactions. Discussion The CAMP intervention is expected to have better reach, better attendance, and comparable effectiveness in reducing the risk of T2DM, thus improving postpartum care for GDM in China. The delivery of a concentrated format supplemented with technology-based support may provide an efficient and effective delivery model for implementing maternal health promotion programs in primary care settings. This study explores the multifaceted roles of women during the Spanish Civil War, examining the diverse perspectives delineated in academic literature. Leveraging scholarly articles sourced from Web of Science and Scopus spanning from 2013 to 2022, we analyse temporal trends, author demographics, scholarly impact, journal prominence, and thematic content. Our investigation culminates in the classification of contributions into six overarching themes: humanitarian aid and healthcare, biographical narratives, communication dynamics, experiences of exile and refugee communities, women’s mobilisation and ideological engagement, and the harrowing realities of repression and violence inflicted upon women. Furthermore, our findings reveal that research predominantly originates from Spain and is disseminated through Spanish-language journals. However, there exists a notable interconnection with the United States, evidenced by the participation of prominent North American authors and publication in non-Spanish journals. This research offers insights into the multifaceted roles of women during the Spanish Civil War and their academic representation.

Abstract Background Sex differences in patient-reported outcomes (PROs) are not well investigated after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in football players. The aim was to study sex differences in player-related factors, ACL injury characteristics and PROs after primary ACL reconstruction in football players. Methods In this cross-sectional cohort study a survey was sent to 390 male and 403 female football players who were injured when playing football and had undergone a primary ACL reconstruction in the previous 1–3 years. Player-related factors, ACL injury characteristics, and PROs covering knee function, satisfaction with activity level and knee function, and readiness to return to sport were compared between male and females. The questionnaires International Knee Documentation Committee Subjective Knee Evaluation Form (IKDC-SKF), Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS), ACL-Quality of Life (ACL-QoL) and ACL-Return to Sport after Injury (ACL-RSI) were used. Results Ninety males (23%) and 283 (70%) females answered the survey, 65 males and 198 females fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Males had returned to football to a higher degree (77% vs 59%, p = 0.008) at any time after ACL reconstruction, but at the time of the survey, an equal number of males and females played football (55% vs 47%, p = 0.239) and had similar activity level according to the Tegner Activity Score (median, 9; interquartile range [IQR], 7, vs median, 8; IQR, 7; p = 0.740). Metaphor is a symbolic and indirect language that conveys concealed and supplementarymeanings. Interpretive narratives may also exhibit gender metaphors and stereotypes. Thework is founded on the interpretive accounts of three Persian interpretations of Rowz al-Jannan, Jala al-Azhan, and Manhaj al-Sadeghin in this research. This article has selectednarratives that have employed gender metaphors or whose content is reminiscent of gendermetaphors. Subsequently, the qualitative content analysis method has been employed toinvestigate the value of these metaphors and their correlation with gender stereotypes.Examples of gender metaphors in these narratives include “bed,” “Boyut,” “Atbah,” and“Denya.” While some of these metaphors have a positive connotation, others have a negativeconnotation. The most significant findings of this research are that the majority of negativemetaphors about women are based on the role of a woman as a wife or sexual companion,which emphasizes her physical appearance. These metaphors are influenced by prevalentgender stereotypes that are detrimental. On the contrary, the majority of positive metaphorsare centered on the role of the mother and the qualities of kindness, creation, origin, andcommencement that are associated with the mother. In addition, this research demonstratesthat the female body is depicted in two distinct ways: the “heavenly body” and the “infernalbody.” The female heavenly body is a symbol of complete delight and benefit, while thefemale infernal body is a symbol of deception, sin, Satan, and adultery.

Abstract Background Breast and cervical cancer are the most common cancers in women, and are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Cancer screening can facilitate early diagnosis, reduce mortality, and ease the burden of cancer. Social support and self-efficacy are strongly associated with cancer screening behavior. The present study aimed to explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy on social support and cancer screening behavior. Methods In this cross-sectional survey study conducted from June to October 2023, 312 women aged 35–65 years were recruited from the East Coast area of China. A general information questionnaire, cancer screening behavior questionnaire, social support scale and self-efficacy scale were used to collect data. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the general characteristics of participants; one-way analysis of variance was used to test for differences in the measured variables; and Pearson’s correlation analyses were used to describe the relationship among social support, self-efficacy, and cancer screening behavior. A mediation model was constructed and analyzed using the PROCESS macro for SPSS. Results The mean (standard deviation) screening behavior score for breast cancer and cervical cancer was 3.98 (2.79), representing an intermediate level. The subject of research and analysis in this paper is how the female body was represented in the novel The Bridge written by Jasmina Musabegović. The novel The Bridge was published in 1994. and represents a kind of sequel to the novel Switches from 1986 and a connection with the novel Women. The voice from 2005. Metaphorically and literally this novel represents the connection between the two novels, in fact, a transitional narrative about the maturation and growing up of the main protagonist who, during her stay in a sanatorium, realizes changes in her own body and enters puberty and becomes the body of a women. At the same time, there is a process of identification with the mother and other women who play an important role in the life of the storyteller and who represent a connection during transitions from one stage of life to another. The body as a place in on which meanings are inscribed, becomes the reason for external and internal changes through which the girl who narrates experiences. Because of the sick body, she went to the sanatorium, the biological maturation of the body causes understanding and identification with the mother and sisters, only to remember performative repetition and observation of movements towards and over the bridge, rhythmic combing, and similar body repetitive gestures felt a closeness, understanding, and existence of transgenerational patterns that are transmitted along the female line in the family. This paper brings an analysis and interpretation of those elements in which the female body is represented as one of the primary determinants for self-identification and gender belonging. The theoretical starting point for the analyses of various aspects of the body in this novel is contemporary feminist research based on Elizabeth Grosz's study Volatile Bodies. Special attention will be paid to how a particular image of the human body is formed, as well as the factors that have a direct impact on it.

Drawing on previous work, I argue that a family resemblance account of the concept woman has several beneficial consequences. Namely, it promotes hermeneutical justice, and, in time, it may serve to change the prototypes and stereotypes people tend unreflectively to associate with woman. I claim that only at that point will full hermeneutical justice be achieved. To this end, I propose a reconceptualization of the notion of hermeneutical injustice, first presented by Fricker (2007). First, I present the family resemblance account of woman. Accordingly, that concept isn’t identified by a set of necessary and (jointly) sufficient conditions, but, roughly, by different criteria. Second, I show how concepts, prototypes and stereotypes relate to one another and how they may contribute to hermeneutical injustice. Finally, I show how the proposed account of woman may in time foster a change in the associated prototype and stereotypes, which will ameliorate societies by doing more justice to the lived experience of trans women – that is, by promoting full hermeneutical justice. The prenatal maternal affective bond can be understood as the emotional relationship that a pregnant woman establishes with her unborn child. This prenatal relationship develops gradually during the entire pregnancy. To study the prenatal maternal affective bond, and the variables involved therein, over the entire gestation for women who achieved pregnancy through assisted reproduction techniques (ART). We conducted a longitudinal study in which we evaluated 49 women at the three gestational trimesters: after the ultrasound confirmation of heart beat (from the 6th – 7th week of pregnancy), around the 20th week of gestation, and as of week 34. This study reflects, among other issues, that the prenatal maternal affective bond is very high from the beginning of pregnancy and increases trimester-by-trimester, showing very high levels at the end of the pregnancy. While the small number of participants has limited the statistical power, the data obtained are a first approximation to the studied reality that allows us to identify variables on which to continue working in future studies. Background: Migraine is a highly underestimated and burdensome disease. Real-world studies evidence that migraine is more frequent and severe in women than men. However, to this day, no diagnostic-therapeutic pathways exist to satisfy the specific needs of female patients. Methods: In this study, migraine experts, specialists in women's health, patient, and decision makers, analyzed the diagnostic and therapeutic options for women with migraine across various ages and health conditions within the Italian healthcare system. A Delphi approach was used to formulate statements and achieve a consensus. Results: Gaps in clinical practice were identified, and strategies to accommodate women's needs were proposed. The experts agreed that a socio-behavioral intervention should be planned before any pharmacological treatment in pediatric/adolescent female patients and that the assessment of migraine with aura is considered crucial for adult women requiring contraceptive therapy. Acupuncture emerged as an effective treatment for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and hormone-replacement therapy selection in menopausal patients requires careful consideration to mitigate safety risks. The experts highlighted the absence of literature and guidelines for the management of migraine in women undergoing assisted reproductive procedures or oncological treatment. In light of these observations, the experts advocated the establishment of multidisciplinary collaborations between neurologists/headache specialists and other healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, pediatricians, gynecologists, and oncologists. Comprehensive migraine education for all healthcare professionals potentially involved in managing the disease, including pharmacists, was emphasized. Efforts to increase migraine awareness among women should be prioritized. Introduction: Obesity aligned with quadriceps muscle weakness contributes to the high incidence of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), which is prevalent in women. Although molecular signatures of KOA have been suggested, the association between biopsychosocial responses and the plasma metabolomic profile in overweight/obese women with KOA remains in its early stages of investigation. This study aims to associate the plasma metabolome with biopsychosocial parameters of overweight/obese women diagnosed with KOA. Methods: Twenty-eight overweight/obese women (Control-n = 14; KOA-n = 14) underwent two visits to the laboratory. Functional tests and questionnaires assessing biopsychosocial parameters were administered during the first visit. After 48 h, the participants returned to the laboratory for blood collection. Specific to the KOA condition, the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS), Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK), and Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) were applied Results: Thirteen molecules were different between groups, and four correlated with KOA's biopsychosocial parameters. DG 22:4-2OH and gamma-Glutamylvaline were inversely associated with KOSS leisure and TSK score, respectively. LysoPE 18:0 and LysoPE 20:5 were positively associated with KOSS symptoms and TSK score, respectively. Discussion: While the correlations of LysoPE 18:0 and gamma-Glutamylvaline are supported by existing literature, this is not the case for DG 22:4-2OH and LysoPE 20:5. Further studies are recommended to better elucidate these correlations before dismissing their potential involvement in the biopsychosocial factors of the disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AbstractObjectivesMethodResultsConclusionThe use of digital healthcare technologies to enhance healthcare delivery has seen significant growth. However, a notable a notable research gap exists in the application of clinical scales for menopause management by general practitioners (GPs). This study aims to investigate willingness of GPs to use specific menopausal scale tools in the care of females for menopause management.An anonymous online survey was developed, which received responses from 348 French GPs in 2023. Multiple backward logistic regression was performed to identify the factors influencing the willingness to use a practical menopause management scale.In total, 87.93% of GPs are not familiar with the Greene Climacteric Scale and 90.52% are not familiar with the Menopause Quick 6 scale. In contrast, 90.52% would be interested in having access to such scales. The willingness to use a menopause management scale is associated with caring for menopausal females (odds ratio [OR] = 6.13, 95% confidence interval [CI] [2.08–18.08], p = 0.001), less experience (OR = 7.10, 95% CI [2.05–25.22], p = 0.002), the importance of health prevention in daily practice (comparing ‘very important’ to ‘not’, OR = 12.98, 95% CI [1.68–97.60], p = 0.004) and the use of a digital scale in daily practice for menopausal management (OR = 2.13, 95% CI [1.04–5.83], p = 0.014).Future research is essential in representative population to confirm these findings in menopause management. Indicators are a form of coding that has an important function in ensuring communication in human life and can rank relationships at a certain level and even set boundaries. Indicators play an active role in reaching the target audience through their carriers and transmitters in the communication system they are connected to. Newspapers, which are part of the mass media, are effective at establishing a connection with the reader and helping the codes gain meaning. The purpose of the narrator is to convey to the target audience a certain idea in the context of the subject of the message and to ensure that the desired opinion has a widespread impact. The fact that newspaper news contains many symbols in the context of the use of pictures, letters, and font size makes a serious contribution to semiotic analysis. In this study, the column titled 'Woman Has No Name', published in Siirt Newspaper on March 7, 2022, was examined with semiotic analysis. In the analysis, after drawing attention to the position of women in the world and in our society, the text was analyzed with its sections in the context of the theme, referent and sign system, and word choices. Thus, the effects of the findings obtained on culture and life, the reflections of these effects on the world of meaning, the narrative language of the newspaper news, and the codes implicit in the text were brought out from the deep structure to the surface structure, and a different perspective on semiotics was presented. In this paper, it will be shown that Genesis 3:16 parallels the Messianic prophecy of Genesis 3:15 with which it also shares significant linguistic links and literary features. From this literary observation, it will be established that the two key words "desire" and "rule" have a positive significance which is further supported by the literary and syntactical construction of the sentences. The positive understanding of Genesis 3:16 in the light of Genesis 3:15 will also be reinforced and illuminated by the comparative analysis with the parallel text of Genesis 4:7. Rather than proclaiming the tragic "curse" of the subordinated woman in her relationship with man, the connection of Genesis 3:16 with Genesis 3:15 brings a message of blessing in the perspective of redemption.
