Sn-doped β-GaO nano- and micrometer particles have been successfully synthesized by chemical vapor deposition process using CaF as dispersant and Ni ions as catalyst. X-ray diffraction indicates that the product was predominantly a single β-GaO phase with high purity. SEM shows that the product was formed by nano- and micrometer particles with the diameters ranging from 300 to 500 nm. A broad and strong emission band ranging from 300 to 650 nm exists because of larger surface area. The growth process of β-GaO nano- and micrometer particles agrees with the vapor-solid growth mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

β-GaO nanorods have been synthesized by chemical vapor deposition using CaF as dispersant and Ni ions as catalyst. The composition, crystal structure, morphology, and optical property were characterized. X-ray diffraction data indicate the product to be high purity β-GaO. The nanorods are 40-100 nm in diameter and about several microns in length and present a core-shell structure. A broad and strong emission band ranging from 300 to 650 nm exists with four Gaussian bands centered at 357 (UV), 420 (blue), 475 (dark blue), and 529 nm (green). By 532 nm laser pumped PL spectral and Xe pumped fluorescence spectral, characterized InGaAsP/In[sub 0.5](Ga[sub x]Al[sub 1-x])[sub 0.5]P quantum well on substrates 2°, 15° tilted to (110) the optical property dependence of substrates tilt. The PL wavelength varies from 755 nm of the quantum well on substrate of 2° to the 780 nm of the quantum well on substrate of 15°. From fluorescence excitation spectral to excite about 760 nm wavelength of quantum well, the absorption light peak wavelength is 508 nm in common, and has another absorption peak wavelength of 622 nm. Excited by 508 nm and 622 nm wavelength, the fluorescence spectral intensity of the 15° quantum well is about 300 and 10[sup 4] accordingly. Abstract: Large quantities of amorphous SiO x nanowires have been synthesized by vapor phase transport process under atmospheric pressure in a horizontal furnace. The fabricated materials have been fully characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The nanowires have a typical length up to several tens of micrometers and a diameter in the range of 100nm to 300nm. The formation mechanism of the nanowires has also been discussed. The covering boats and the weight ratio of the raw materials were regarded to play an important role during the growth of the nanowires. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Cerium-doped Bi2Ti2O7 (BCTO) thin films have been grown on P-type Si 〈100〉 substrates by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was carried out, which confirms that the crystallinity of the films increased with the enhancement of annealing temperature ranging from 550 to 750°C. The chemical stability of Bi2Ti2O7 was improved, since some Bi ions are substituted with the Ce ions. The AFM image of surface morphology of (Bi0.88Ce0.12)2Ti2O7 thin film was investigated. The section morphology was studied and the thickness was measured. The relaxation time and the leakage current behavior of (Bi0.88Ce0.12)2Ti2O7 thin films annealed at various temperatures were discussed. The current–voltage characteristics were explored, accordingly dielectric constant (DC) and dielectric loss (DL) were calculated at the frequency ranging from 1 to 2000kHz. At the characteristic frequency of 100kHz, DC and DL are calculated to be 214 and 0.06 respectively. The results showed that the film annealed at 700°C had good insulating properties and was considered using in advanced MOS transistors. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the crystallinity of the films increased with increasing annealing temperature and the optimum temperature was found to be 800 °C. The effects of relaxation time and various annealing temperatures and films thickness on the leakage current density were investigated. Abstract: La-doped Bi2Ti2O7 nanocrystals have been prepared using chemical solution deposition technique. The (Bi1−x La x )2Ti2O7 phase is stable at a high temperature (800°C). The morphologies of SEM show that the average size of the powders is about 200nm. The precursor powders were examined by DTA and TGA with thermal analyzers. UV–Vis absorption spectra were measured for the samples; their band gap estimated to be about 3.4eV. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a highly malignant primary bone neoplasm that is the leading cause of cancer‑associated death in young people. GNE‑477 belongs to the second generation of mTOR inhibitors and possesses promising potential in the treatment of OS but dose tolerance and drug toxicity limit its development and utilization. The present study aimed to prepare a novel H 2 O 2 stimulus‑responsive dodecanoic acid (DA)‑phenylborate ester‑dextran (DA‑B‑DEX) polymeric micelle delivery system for GNE‑477 and evaluate its efficacy. The polymer micelles were characterized by morphology, size and critical micelle concentration. The GNE‑477 loaded DA‑B‑DEX (GNE‑477@DBD) tumor‑targeting drug delivery system was established and the release of GNE‑477 was measured. The cellular uptake of GNE‑477@DBD by three OS cell lines (MG‑63, U2OS and 143B cells) was analyzed utilizing a fluorescent tracer technique. The hydroxylated DA‑B was successfully grafted onto dextran at a grafting rate of 3%, suitable for forming amphiphilic micelles. Following exposure to H 2 O 2 , the DA‑B‑DEX micelles ruptured and released the drug rapidly, leading to increased uptake of GNE‑477@DBD by cells with sustained release of GNE‑477. The in vitro experiments, including MTT assay, flow cytometry, western blotting and RT‑qPCR, demonstrated that GNE‑477@DBD inhibited tumor cell viability, arrested cell cycle in G1 phase, induced apoptosis and blocked the PI3K/Akt/mTOR cascade response. In vivo , through the observation of mice tumor growth and the results of H&E staining, the GNE‑477@DBD group exhibited more positive therapeutic outcomes than the free drug group with almost no adverse effects on other organs. In conclusion, H 2 O 2 ‑responsive DA‑B‑DEX presents a promising delivery system for hydrophobic anti‑tumor drugs for OS therapy.
