Non-precious metal catalysts with enhanced low-temperature activity and improved water resistance are highly demanded for emission control. CuO-based catalysts are promising alternatives to precious metal catalysts due to their acceptable activity and cost-effectiveness. However, there is an urgent need to further enhance their low-temperature activity and water resistance for industrial applications. Herein, CuO catalysts supported by various SiO2-TiO2 supports were prepared and evaluated for CO oxidation and NO reduction by CO reactions under the testing conditions with and without water. Among the studied catalysts with different SiO2 contents, CuO/5SiO2-TiO2, in which CuO was supported by SiO2-TiO2 with 5 wt.% SiO2, exhibited the best performance for CO oxidation. Compared with CuO/TiO2 and CuO/SiO2 reference catalysts, the CuO/5SiO2-TiO2 catalyst showed enhanced catalytic activity in both CO oxidation and NO reduction by CO under dry and wet conditions. Comprehensive characterizations revealed that the presence of SiO2 in TiO2 support facilitated the CuO/5SiO2-TiO2 catalyst with a high dispersion and reduced oxidation states of CuOx species. This not only improved the low-temperature reducibility but also enhanced the adsorption of reactive CO species. As a result, the CuO/5SiO2-TiO2 catalyst demonstrated superior catalytic activity. Furthermore, the inclusion of SiO2 in the catalyst inhibited H2O adsorption, contributing to the enhanced water resistance on CuO/5SiO2-TiO2 catalyst. This paper studies the ℓ 1 - α ℓ 2 local minimization model for α ∈ (0 , 2 ] , which is the first time to consider the case of α > 1 . We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for a fixed sparse signal to be recovered from this model. Based on this condition, we also obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for any k-sparse signal to be recovered from ℓ 1 - α ℓ 2 local minimization model with 0 < α < 1 , α = 1 and 1 < α ≤ 2 . Background: While the role of low-dose computed tomography (CT) in lung cancer screening is established, its limitations in detailing pulmonary vascular variations are less emphasized. Three-dimensional reconstruction technology allows surgeons to reconstruct a patient's bronchial and pulmonary vascular structures using CT scan results. However, low-dose CT may not provide the same level of clarity as enhanced CT in displaying pulmonary vascular details. This limitation can be unfavorable for preoperative detection of potential pulmonary vascular variations, especially in cases involving planned segmentectomy. Case Presentation: We report a case of a 58-year-old female with lung cancer, initially planned for Da Vinci robot-assisted thoracoscopic segmentectomy. Unexpectedly, during surgery, a pulmonary vein variation in the right upper lobe was discovered, leading to a change in the surgical method to a lobectomy. The patient had four variant right upper lobe veins draining into the superior vena cava and one into the left atrium. The surgery was complicated by significant bleeding and postoperative pulmonary congestion. Postoperative pathology confirmed adenocarcinoma. Conclusions: This case highlights the importance of meticulous intraoperative exploration, particularly in cases involving planned segmentectomy, as unexpected pulmonary vein variations can significantly affect surgical decision-making. While three-dimensional reconstruction based on preoperative CT data is a valuable tool, it may not capture the full complexity of the anatomical variations. We discuss potential preoperative imaging techniques, including contrast-enhanced CT and CT angiography, as methods to better identify these variations. The enhanced visualization provided by robot-assisted surgery plays a crucial role in identifying and adapting to these variations, underscoring the advantages of this surgical approach. Our report contributes to the existing literature by providing a detailed account of how these principles were applied in a real-world scenario, reinforcing the need for surgical adaptability and awareness of the limitations of low-dose CT in complex cases. This paper solves the problem of block sparse vector recovery using the block ℓ1−αℓq$\ell _1-\alpha \ell _q$‐minimization model. Based on the block restricted isometry property (B‐RIP) condition, exact block sparse vector recovery result is obtained. In this paper, k block sparse vectors are studied, and the block ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 model is adopted. It is proved theoretically that when the block sparsity satisfies some conditions, the k block sparse vector can be accurately recovered by the noise free block ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 model, and it can also be stably recovered by the noisy block ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 model. In the algorithm, we use the convex difference algorithm, and prove that the aggregation points of the sequence generated by the algorithm converge to the stable point of the objective function. We prove that when the parameter λ > 0 is less than a certain number λ k , the aggregation points of the sequence generated by the algorithm are block sparse. Finally, we conduct data experiments. The experiments show that when the vector is block sparse, the block ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 model can recover the unknown vector better than the traditional ℓ 1 - ℓ 2 model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With ideal metal utilization efficiency and homogeneous active sites, single atom catalysts (SACs) have attracted extensive attention in heterogeneous catalysis field. The performance of SACs is highly dependent on the local coordination environment of metal single atoms. However, few works reported the effect of surface acidity modification on the performance of SACs such as Pt SACs which have been widely studied nowadays. In this work, a Pt/Al 2 O 3 SAC has been successfully prepared using a bayerite Al(OH) 3 as support through simple IWI method for Pt loading. Through post-modification of Pt/Al 2 O 3 with acidic WO 3 and basic MgO, the surface acidity of Pt/Al 2 O 3 was tuned. Activity of CO oxidation and methanol decomposition on the modified catalysts has been evaluated. It was found that the catalytic performance was highly related to the surface acidity of Pt SACs. Basic MgO modified Pt/Al 2 O 3 performed better in CO oxidation under the reaction condition with H 2 O. Acidic WO 3 modified Pt/Al 2 O 3 showed superior activity in methanol decomposition. Detailed characterization and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) study suggested that the positive H 2 O effect on CO oxidation was due to the mitigated formation of bicarbonate species on Pt/Al 2 O 3 and WO 3 /Pt/Al 2 O 3 catalysts and the promoted desorption of carbonate species from MgO/Pt/Al 2 O 3. The superior methanol decomposition performance on WO 3 /Pt/Al 2 O 3 was owing to its abundant oxygen vacancies and high resistance to carbonate accumulation. This study highlights the importance of surface acidity modulation of Pt SACs in heterogeneous catalysis and suggests that fine-tuning the surface acidity can be an effective strategy in new SACs development. The development and comprehension of supported metal catalysts for CO 2 hydrogenation is of paramount importance in mitigating the net CO 2 emissions. Supported Ru catalysts have been widely recognized in facilitating CO 2 methanation, on which recent findings suggest that the CO 2 hydrogenation process can be manipulated to favor the reverse water–gas shift (RWGS) pathway by precisely adjusting the size of Ru particles. However, the size-dependent impact of Ru remains a topic of lively debate. In this work, Ru/MgO catalysts with Ru in the form of single atoms (Ru 1) and few-atom cluster (Ru FAC) structures were prepared for CO 2 hydrogenation. The 1.0Ru/MgO catalyst (with 1 wt.% of Ru), featuring a mixture of Ru 1 and Ru FAC with a size of 0.6–1.0 nm, showed the highest CO yield (38% at 500 °C) with balanced CO 2 conversion and CO selectivity. Transient CO 2 hydrogenation and temperature-programmed surface reaction (TPSR) studies suggested that the adsorbed CO 2 species participated in CO 2 hydrogenation. On Ru 1 sites, CO 2 hydrogenation followed the RWGS pathway, resulting in the production of CO. In contrast, on Ru FAC sites, the enhanced H 2 dissociation ability, along with the presence of adsorbed bidentate and monodentate carbonate species at the Ru−MgO interfaces, facilitated the formation of CH 4 through the CO 2 methanation pathway. This study highlights the critical roles of Ru structure and local environment in defining the CO 2 hydrogenation pathways and provides new design principles for highly active Ru-based catalysts. Due to the capacity to offer abundant catalytic sites within porous solids featuring high surface areas, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives have garnered considerable attention as prospective catalysts in environmental catalysis. To promote the industrial application of MOFs, there is an urgent need for an effective and environmental-friendly preparation approach. Breaking through the limitation of the traditional two-step preparation method that Pd was introduced to the already prepared Ce-BTC (Pd/Ce-BTC, BTC = 1, 3, 5 benzenetricarboxylate), in this work, we present a novel one-pot solvothermal method for synthesizing the Pd material supported by Ce-BTC (Pd@Ce-BTC). After pyrolysis in N 2 flow or air flow, Pd-CeO 2 catalysts derived from Pd@Ce-BTC exhibited much higher CO oxidation activity than those from Pd/Ce-BTC. Moreover, Pd/Ce-BTC and Pd@Ce-BTC pyrolyzed in N 2 flow (Pd/Ce-BTC-N and Pd@Ce-BTC-N) could better catalyze the oxidation of CO than Pd/Ce-BTC and Pd@Ce-BTC pyrolyzed in air flow (Pd/Ce-BTC-A and Pd@Ce-BTC-A). Further characterizations revealed that the abundant surface Ce3+ species, rich surface adsorbed oxygen species and superior redox properties were the main reasons for the superior CO oxidation activity of Pd@Ce-BTC-N. Herein we report a novel Pt catalyst on ceria-alumina (CeO 2 /Al 2 O 3) support (Pt/CA-T) engineered by a two-step ceria deposition strategy, exhibiting superior thermal stability and low-temperature carbon monoxide (CO) oxidation activity after activation. Pt single sites anchored to engineered CeO 2 edge sites are much more stable than that to CeO 2 (111) surface, and such stable single sites can be transformed into highly active Pt clusters for efficient low-temperature CO oxidation. Active site identification indicates that the CO oxidation activity of different Pt sites follows such sequence: Pt cluster step sites ≈ Pt cluster terrace sites > Pt cluster corner sites ≫ Pt single sites on CeO 2. The excellent low temperature activity of activated Pt/CA-T catalyst for CO oxidation is associated with its abundant Pt cluster step and terrace sites as well as rich Pt-CeO 2 interfaces, which facilitate the adsorption of active CO species and superior oxygen activation/transfer ability. In the field of compressed sensing, ℓ1−2$\ell _{1-2}$‐minimization model can recover the sparse signal well. In dealing with the ℓ1−2$\ell _{1-2}$‐minimization problem, most of the existing literature uses the difference of convex algorithm (DCA) to solve the unrestricted ℓ1−2$\ell _{1-2}$‐minimization model, that is, model (4). Although experiments have proved that the unrestricted ℓ1−2$\ell _{1-2}$‐minimization model can recover the original sparse signal, the theoretical proof has not been established yet. This paper mainly proves theoretically that the unrestricted ℓ1−2$\ell _{1-2}$‐minimization model can recover the sparse signal well, and makes an experimental study on the parameter λ in the unrestricted minimization model. The experimental results show that increasing the size of parameter λ in (4) appropriately can improve the recovery success rate. The potential collapsible deformation of loess surrounding rock is not conducive to the safety and stability of the tunnel, especially under rainfall conditions, which may induce severe engineering disasters. This paper analyzes the regularity of water infiltration in loess and failure response of tunnel structure under rainfall conditions. Rainfall infiltration in loess strata includes unsaturated infiltration and dominant channel infiltration. The dominant channels enhance soil permeability, leading to the overall downward movement of the wetting front, which provides conditions for the instability and failure of surrounding rock of loess tunnel. Through case statistics, the loess tunnel engineering disasters caused by rainfall are analyzed, elucidating the mechanism of tunnel instability and failure. Finally, according to the characteristics of loess surrounding rock and the response regularity of rainfall to tunnel structure, a series of engineering measures to prevent the deformation of surrounding rock and the specific construction method of loess tunnel structure safety warning system under the condition of rainfall are proposed. A significant promotion effect of colloidal SiO 2 on Pd/TiO 2 catalyst for improving the activity and N 2 selectivity in the selective catalytic reduction of NO with H 2 (H 2 -SCR) was reported, both before and after hydrothermal aging. The SiO 2 addition not only benefited the formation of more oxygen vacancies but also increased Pd dispersion and created rich Pd-SiO 2 interfaces on Pd-SiO 2 /TiO 2 catalyst. The H 2 -SCR of NO on both Pd/TiO 2 and Pd-SiO 2 /TiO 2 followed a Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, in which the adsorbed bridging bidentate nitrates on TiO 2 could react with dissociated H 2 species on Pd sites at Pd-TiO 2 interface. Particularly, on the promoted Pd-SiO 2 /TiO 2 , the Pd-TiO 2 interface could facilitate NO adsorption and activation, and the created Pd-SiO 2 interface could benefit H 2 adsorption and dissociation, thus contributing to its significantly improved H 2 -SCR activity. Furthermore, the active Pd species (which should be Pd0 under reaction condition with higher surface concentration) within Pd-SiO 2 /TiO 2 could be well stabilized during long-term hydrothermal aging process through the formation of rich Pd-SiO 2 interfaces. Indium nitride (InN) is a promising photoelectrode material for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting due to its strong light absorption capability, excellent electron mobility and direct band gap. However, the severe re-joining of the carrier in bulk or surface hinders the application of InN nanomaterials. Therefore, an InN nanorod/Ni(OH)2 heterojunction for PEC water splitting with enhanced interfacial charge transfer under a biased voltage was constructed first. In this case, the Ni(OH)2 catalyst not only has excellent electrocatalytic properties, but also can eliminate the surface state of the InN nanorods within a certain range. The improved InN/Ni(OH)2 photoelectrodes show that the photocurrent density of 4.43 mA cm−2, was 16 times higher than that of the pure InN nanorods (0.27 mA cm−2) at the same potential. Its applied bias photon-to-current efficiency (ABPE) at 0.92 V vs. Ag/AgCl was 6.92% with a 43-fold increase when compared to InN (0.16%). The work reported here, supplies practical and effective ideas to construct an InN-based nanorod heterojunction, thereby enhancing the redox reaction dynamics of the PEC water splitting in alkaline pH electrolyte. Cobalt oxide is a typical transition metal oxide that exhibits high catalytic activity for the total oxidation of volatile organic compounds. In this study, a reduction process in a glycerol solution was adopted to generate mesoporous CoO (meso-CoO) or CoO x (meso-CoO x ) from mesoporous Co 3 O 4 (meso-Co 3 O 4 ). The obtained samples were rich in Co 2+ species and exhibited high catalytic activity for o -xylene oxidation. The meso-CoO x sample with the largest surface Co 2+ amount performed the best: The o -xylene conversion at 240 °C was 83%, and the reaction rate over meso-CoO x was nine times higher than that over meso-Co 3 O 4 . It is found that the samples with more surface Co 2+ species possessed better oxygen activation ability, and the Co 2+ species were the active sites that favored the formation of highly active O 2 − and O 2 2− (especially O 2 − ) species. 1 ​wt% Ru/5 ​wt% Nb 2 O 5 /CeO 2 (RuNbCe) catalyst was synthesized via the incipient wetness impregnation method, and measured for the catalytic oxidation of dichloromethane (DCM). The physicochemical properties of catalysts were determined used various characterization techniques. Compared with 1 ​wt% Ru/CeO 2 , 5 ​wt% Nb 2 O 5 /CeO 2 , CeO 2 , 1 ​wt% Ru/ x Nb 2 O 5 /CeO 2 (x ​= ​1 ​wt%, 2 ​wt%, and 3 ​wt%) and 1 ​wt% Ru/ yM O n /CeO 2 (M ​= ​Co, Cr, Fe, Mg, Cu; y ​= ​5 ​wt%), the addition of 5 ​wt% Nb 2 O 5 obviously improved the catalytic performance of 1 ​wt% Ru/CeO 2 , with the T 90% and apparent activation energy (E a) being 287 oC and 43.5 ​kJ/mol, respectively, and less formation of polychlorinated byproducts at space velocity (SV) ​= ​15,000 ​mL ​g‒1 ​h‒1. The RuNbCe catalyst showed good thermal and hydrothermal stability, as well as HCl-resistance performance. We deduced that the higher oxidation performance of the RuNbCe catalyst may be attributed to the suitable acidic sites, good redox capacity, high surface adsorbed oxygen species concentration, and the strong interaction among Ru, Nb 2 O 5 and CeO 2. Palladium-based catalysts are highly active for eliminating volatile organic compounds. Reducing the use of noble metals and enhancing performance of a catalyst are always desirable. The three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) Mn 2 O 3 -supported transition metal M ( M = Mn, Cr, Fe, and Co)-doped Au–Pd nanoparticles (NPs) with an Au–Pd– xM loading of 1.86–1.97 wt% were prepared using the modified polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction method. It is found that the Au–Pd– xM NPs with a size of 3.6–4.4 nm were highly dispersed on the surface of 3DOM Mn 2 O 3 . The 1.94 wt% Au–Pd–0.21Co/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 and 1.94 wt% Au–Pd–0.22Fe/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 samples performed the best for the oxidation of methane and o -xylene, respectively. The methane oxidation rate at 340 °C (339.0 × 10 −6 mol/(g Pd s)) over 1.94 wt% Au–Pd–0.21Co/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 was three times higher than that (93.8 × 10 −6 mol/(g Pd s)) over 1.97 wt% Au–Pd/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 , and the o -xylene reaction rate at 140 °C (2.59 μmol/(g N s) over 1.94 wt% Au–Pd–0.22Fe/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 was two times higher than that (0.93 μmol/(g N s) over 1.97 wt% Au–Pd/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 . It is concluded that doping a certain amount of the transition metal to Au–Pd/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 could modify the microstructure of the alloy NPs, thus improving the oxygen activation and methane adsorption ability. We are sure that the M -doped Au–Pd/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 materials are promising catalysts for the efficient removal of volatile organic compounds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous La 0.6 Sr 0.4 CoO 3 (3DOM LSCO) and its supported gold and manganese oxide ( y Mn 3 O 4 - z Au/3DOM LSCO; y = 0.75–2.50 wt%, z = ca. 2.0 wt%) nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared using the polymethyl methacrylate-templating, polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction, and physical adsorption methods, respectively. Physicochemical properties of the samples were characterized by means of numerous techniques, and their catalytic activities were evaluated for the oxidation of toluene. It is shown that the 3DOM LSCO in y Mn 3 O 4 - z Au/3DOM LSCO with a surface area of 20–24 m 2 /g displayed a rhombohedral crystal structure, and Mn 3 O 4 (size: 5–12 nm) and Au (size: 3–4 nm) NPs were highly dispersed on the surface of 3DOM LSCO. There were good correlations of adsorbed oxygen species concentration and low-temperature reducibility with catalytic activity of the sample. The 1.67Mn 3 O 4 -2Au/3DOM LSCO sample performed the best, giving the T 50% and T 90% (temperatures required for achieving toluene conversions of 50 and 90%) of 214 and 230 °C at a space velocity of 20,000 mL/(g h), respectively. The introduction of water vapor to the reaction system caused a partial deactivation of the 1.67Mn 3 O 4 -2Au/3DOM LSCO sample, and such a deactivation was reversible. The apparent activation energies (41.7–47.4 kJ/mol) obtained over y Mn 3 O 4 -2Au/3DOM LSCO were lower than those (49.2–56.8 kJ/mol) obtained over 3DOM LSCO, 2Au/3DOM LSCO, and 1.56Mn 3 O 4 -2Au/Bulk LSCO. It is concluded that the large surface area, high adsorbed oxygen species concentration, good low-temperature reducibility, and strong interaction between Au or Mn 3 O 4 NPs and 3DOM LSCO were responsible for the good catalytic performance of 1.67Mn 3 O 4 -2Au/3DOM LSCO. Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous CeO 2 (3DOM CeO 2 ) and its supported Pd@Co (Co x Pd/3DOM CeO 2 , x (Co/Pd molar ratio) = 2.4–13.6) nanocatalysts were prepared using the polymethyl methacrylate-templating and modified polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction methods, respectively. The Pd@Co particles displayed a core-shell (core: Pd; shell: Co) structure with an average size of 3.5–4.5 nm and were well dispersed on the surface of 3DOM CeO 2 . The Co x Pd/3DOM CeO 2 samples exhibited high catalytic performance and super stability for methane oxidation, with the Co 3.5 Pd/3DOM CeO 2 sample showing the highest activity ( T 90% = 480 °C at space velocity of 40,000 mL/(g h) and excellent stability in the temperature range 400–800 °C. The apparent activation energies (58–73 kJ/mol) obtained over Co x Pd/3DOM CeO 2 were much lower than those (104–112 kJ/mol) over Co/3DOM CeO 2 and 3DOM CeO 2 for methane oxidation, with the Co 3.5 Pd/3DOM CeO 2 sample possessing the lowest apparent activation energy (58 kJ/mol). It is concluded that the excellent catalytic performance of Co 3.5 Pd/3DOM CeO 2 was associated with its good abilities to adsorb oxygen and methane as well as the unique core-shell structure of CoPd nanoparticles. Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) Mn 2 O 3 -supported AuPd y alloy ( x AuPd y /3DOM Mn 2 O 3 ; x = 1.0–3.8 wt%; Pd/Au molar ratio : y = 1.85, 1.92) catalysts were prepared using the polymethyl methacrylate-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction methods, respectively. Physicochemical properties of the samples were characterized by means of numerous techniques, and their catalytic activities were evaluated for toluene oxidation. It is found that the AuPd y alloy nanoparticles (NPs) with an particle size of 2–4 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of 3DOM Mn 2 O 3 , and the 3.8AuPd 1.92 /3DOM Mn 2 O 3 sample performed the best: the temperature at 90% toluene conversion was 162 °C at 40,000 mL/(g h). Furthermore, the 3.8AuPd 1.92 /3DOM Mn 2 O 3 sample was highly active even after calcination at 700 °C. The introduction of water vapor to the feedstock induced a positive effect on toluene oxidation over 3.8AuPd 1.92 /3DOM Mn 2 O 3 , but a negative effect over 1.9Au/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 or 1.9Pd/3DOM Mn 2 O 3 . The excellent catalytic activity, thermal stability, and water resistance of 3.8AuPd 1.92 /3DOM Mn 2 O 3 were associated with its good activation adsorption of oxygen on AuPd 1.92 NPs and strong interaction between noble metal NPs and 3DOM Mn 2 O 3 . The polymethyl methacrylate-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction routes were adopted to prepared three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) Co 3 O 4 and its supported gold–palladium alloy ( x AuPd/3DOM Co 3 O 4 , x = 0.50–1.99 wt% and Au/Pd mass ratio = 1:1) nanocatalysts. The 3DOM Co 3 O 4 supported Au–Pd samples performed much better than supported single Au or Pd samples, with the 1.99AuPd/3DOM Co 3 O 4 sample showing the best performance: the T 10% , T 50% , and T 90% (temperatures required for achieving toluene conversions of 10%, 50%, and 90%) were 145, 164, and 168 °C at a space velocity of 40,000 mL/(g h), respectively. The 3DOM Co 3 O 4 supported Au–Pd nanocatalysts also exhibited better catalytic stability and more moisture-tolerant ability than the supported Au or Pd samples for toluene oxidation. The apparent activation energies (33–41 kJ/mol) over x AuPd/3DOM Co 3 O 4 were much lower than those (52–112 kJ/mol) over 3DOM Co 3 O 4 and supported single Au or Pd samples, with the 1.99AuPd/3DOM Co 3 O 4 sample exhibiting the lowest apparent activation energy (33 kJ/mol). It is concluded that better oxygen activation ability and stronger noble metal–3DOM Co 3 O 4 interaction were responsible for the excellent catalytic performance of 1.99AuPd/3DOM Co 3 O 4 . Higher oxidation activity and Oxygen storage capacity (OSC) were achieved on activated Pt/CZA-T, comparing to Pt catalysts on regular CeO 2 /Al 2 O 3 (Pt/CA) and one-step prepared CeZrO x /Al 2 O 3 (Pt/CZA). Via the modification of hydrophilic/hydrophobic properties of γ-Al 2 O 3 by this unique T-IWI method, finer Ce 0.9 Zr 0.1 O 2 particles with higher density of surface defects were formed on CZA-T, on which a higher Pt dispersion and stronger Pt-O-Ce interaction were achieved. Upon activation, smaller, well-dispersed Pt clusters on CZA-T were generated. It was concluded that the CO oxidation performance and OSC were highly related to the size of Pt clusters on different supports that we have developed. More Pt sites located at Pt cluster-CeZrO x interfaces, which were the real active sites, were responsible for the highest OSC function and CO oxidation activity of activated Pt/CZA-T catalyst. HAADF-STEM images show that Pt is atomically dispersed on the surface of Fe 2 O 3. All samples exhibit good light-thermal conversion efficiency, which can increase the surface temperature of catalysts to 210 °C. The 0.5 Pt 1 /Fe 2 O 3 exhibits the best photothermal catalytic performance (the toluene conversion and CO 2 yield are 95 % and 87 %, respectively) for toluene oxidation under the irradiation of simulated sunlight with light intensity of 720 mW/cm2, which is attributed to its good light-thermal conversion efficiency and low temperature reducibility. Background: There is uncertainty whether long-term use of proton-pump inhibitors can cause gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) and oesophageal adenocarcinoma (OAC). This study aimed to determine how discontinuation of long-term PPI therapy influences the risk of GAC and OAC. Methods: This population-based cohort study included all long-term users of PPI therapy in Sweden in 2005–2018 was based on Swedish nationwide health registry data. The exposure was discontinuation of long-term PPI therapy, defined as no dispensation of PPI following inclusion and used as a time-varying variable, compared to remaining on PPI. Main outcomes were GAC and OAC, while oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) was included as a comparison outcome. Incidence rate ratios (IRR) with 95% CI adjusted for age, sex, comorbidity, obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, NSAIDs/aspirin, and statins were calculated with Poisson regression. Results: Among 730,176 long-term PPI users (mean age 65.6 years, 58.4% females) with 4,210,925 person-years at risk (median 5.5 person-years), 439,390 (60.2%) discontinued PPIs. In total, 495 developed GAC, 598 OAC, and 188 developed OSCC. PPI discontinuation was associated with decreased risk of GAC (IRR 0.81, 95% CI 0.67–0.98) and OAC (IRR 0.80, 95% CI 0.68–0.96), but not OSCC (IRR 1.10, 95% CI 0.82–1.49) compared to continued PPI use. Stratified analyses showed decreased point estimates across most age categories and both sexes for GAC and OAC risk among participants discontinuing PPI therapy. Conclusion: Discontinuation of long-term PPI therapy may decrease the risk of GAC and OAC, suggesting that physicians should consider ceasing prescribing long-term PPI in patients without continued indication for its use. This paper focuses on the compressed sensing ℓ1−ℓ2$\ell _1-\ell _2$‐minimization model and develops new bounds on cumulative coherence μ1(s)$\mu _1(s)$. It is pointed out that if cumulative coherence μ1(s)$\mu _1(s)$ satisfies Equation (2) or (11), then the sparse signal can stably recover in noise model and exactly recover in free noise by ℓ1−ℓ2$\ell _1-\ell _2$‐minimization model. From this paper, it is found that based on some condition of cumulative coherence, the ℓ1−ℓ2$\ell _1-\ell _2$‐minimization model can exactly recover s‐sparse signals in noiseless cases and stably recover s‐sparse signals in the noise cases. Postoperative chylothorax is a rare but serious complication after pulmonary resection. In previous studies, we have found no reports of postoperative chylothorax after left pulmonary wedge resection. Considering the many variations in the route of the thoracic duct, it also has the risk of postoperative chylothorax. We describe a case of refractory chylothorax after left pulmonary wedge resection without mediastinal lymph node dissection. Conservative treatment and supradiaphragmatic thoracic duct ligation did not obtain satisfactory results in this patient. Finally, under the guidance of magnetic resonance–thoracic ductography (MRTD), we successfully ligated the thoracic duct fistula. Mediastinal haemangiomas pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges owing to their rarity and complex anatomy. A 36-year-old man, with a history of smoking and drinking, presented with a posterior mediastinal mass with back pain. Initial investigations suggested a lymphangioma. However, owing to persistent symptoms and complex pathology, we performed surgical intervention involving open resection of the tumour, which was closely associated with the descending aorta and extended into the right posterior mediastinum. The surgical approach was influenced by the proximity of the tumour to vital structures, necessitating an open procedure. Postoperative complications included chylothorax, managed with a fat-free diet. The final pathological diagnosis was consistent with a benign vascular tumour with a low proliferative rate. Two months post-surgery, computed tomography revealed no complications, and the patient's pain had decreased. A multidisciplinary approach and surgical intervention played important roles in the diagnosis and treatment of this posterior mediastinal haemangioma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Worldwide, gastric cancer is a leading cause of cancer incidence and mortality. This study aims to devise and validate a scoring system based on readily available clinical data to predict the risk of gastric cancer in a large Chinese population. Methods: We included a total of 6,209,697 subjects aged between 18 and 70 years who have received upper digestive endoscopy in Hong Kong from 1997 to 2018. A binary logistic regression model was constructed to examine the predictors of gastric cancer in a derivation cohort (n = 4,347,224), followed by model evaluation in a validation cohort (n = 1,862,473). The algorithm's discriminatory ability was evaluated as the area under the curve (AUC) of the mathematically constructed receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results: Age, male gender, history of Helicobacter pylori infection, use of proton pump inhibitors, non‐use of aspirin, non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and statins were significantly associated with gastric cancer. A scoring of ≤8 was designated as "average risk (AR)". Scores at 9 or above were assigned as "high risk (HR)". The prevalence of gastric cancer was 1.81% and 0.096%, respectively, for the HR and LR groups. The AUC for the risk score in the validation cohort was 0.834, implying an excellent fit of the model. Conclusions: This study has validated a simple, accurate, and easy‐to‐use scoring algorithm which has a high discriminatory capability to predict gastric cancer. Background: Recent research indicates that use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) is associated with pneumonia, but existing evidence is inconclusive because of methodological issues. This study aimed to answer whether PPI-use increases risk of pneumonia while taking the methodological concerns of previous research into account. Methods: This population-based and nationwide Swedish study conducted in 2005–2019 used a self-controlled case series design. Data came from national registries for medications, diagnoses, and mortality. Conditional fixed-effect Poisson regression provided incidence rate ratios (IRR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) for pneumonia comparing PPI-exposed periods with unexposed periods in the same individuals, thus controlling for confounding. Analyses were stratified by PPI-treatment duration, sex, age, and smoking-related diseases. Use of histamine type-2 receptor antagonists (used for the same indications as PPIs) and risk of pneumonia was analysed for assessing the validity and specificity of the results for PPI-therapy and pneumonia. Results: Among 519,152 patients with at least one pneumonia episode during the study period, 307,709 periods of PPI-treatment occurred. PPI-use was followed by an overall 73% increased risk of pneumonia (IRR 1.73, 95% CI 1.71–1.75). The IRRs were increased across strata of PPI-treatment duration, sex, age, and smoking-related disease status. No such strong association was found between histamine type-2 receptor antagonist use and risk of pneumonia (IRR 1.08, 95% CI 1.02–1.14). Conclusions: PPI-use seems to be associated with an increased risk of pneumonia. This finding highlights a need for caution in using PPIs in individuals with a history of pneumonia. Summary: Background: Gastric bypass is considered an effective treatment of co‐existing gastro‐oesophageal reflux (GERD) and obesity. Previous studies have had small sample sizes, short follow‐up or substantial loss to follow‐up. Aim: To assess the long‐term risk of remaining/recurring reflux symptoms after gastric bypass. Methods: This was a nationwide cohort study of all adults with preoperative reflux who underwent gastric bypass in Sweden between 2006 and 2015, with complete follow‐up through 2016. The outcome was remaining/recurring reflux symptoms, defined as use of proton pump inhibitors or histamine‐2 receptor antagonists for >6 months after surgery. Cumulative incidence and risk factors of reflux were assessed with multivariable Poisson regression. Results: Among 2454 participants (81.7% female; mean age: 46.1 years, SD: 9.8 years), who were followed for median 4.6 years (interquartile range: 3.1‐6.3 years), reflux recurred in 48.8% (95% confidence interval [95% CI], 46.8‐51.0) of participants within 2 years of gastric bypass and remained stable up to 10 years after surgery (yearly change in incidence rate ratio [IRR] of 1.00; 95% CI, 0.99‐1.02). Risk factors for recurring reflux were high preoperative dose of anti‐reflux medication (IRR 1.77; 95% CI, 1.60‐1.96 compared with low dose), older age (IRR 1.12; 95% CI 1.02‐1.24 comparing age >50 with <40 years), female sex (IRR 1.28; 95% CI, 1.16‐1.42) and comorbidity (IRR 1.26; 95% CI, 1.14‐1.39 comparing Charlson Comorbidity Index ≥2 with 0). Conclusions: Reflux symptoms decrease rapidly after gastric bypass, but around half of operated patients require continuous anti‐reflux medication. Herein we fabricated the supported single-atom silver catalysts using an in situ molten salt method. The Mn 2 O 3 nanowires supported single-atom silver catalyst (i.e., 0.06 wt% Ag/Mn 2 O 3) exhibited excellent catalytic activity for toluene combustion, with the temperatures required for 50 and 90% of toluene conversions being 170 and 205 °C, respectively, at a space velocity of 40,000 mL/(g h). However, the toluene conversion at 205 °C quickly decreased from 90 to 30% within 2.5 h of on-stream reaction. Based on the various characterization results, we found that there were no aggregation of Ag particles, no change in crystal structure of the Mn 2 O 3 nanowire support, and no carbon deposition on the catalyst surface, and the quick deactivation of 0.06 wt% Ag/Mn 2 O 3 was mainly associated with the low oxygen activation ability. The proper CeO 2 addition to the 0.06 wt% Ag/Mn 2 O 3 catalyst was found to not only improve the catalytic activity but also significantly enhance the stability of the catalyst. Toluene conversion at 195 °C over 0.63 wt% CeO 2 -0.06 wt% Ag/Mn 2 O 3 decreased by only 10% in 50 h of on-stream reaction. Because Ag and CeO 2 particles were highly dispersed on the Mn 2 O 3 nanowire support, the oxygen species formed at the surface oxygen vacancies of CeO 2 could efficiently migrate to the active sites (i.e., the interface of Ag-Mn 2 O 3) and replenish the surface reactive lattice oxygen species. Thus, the present single-atom silver catalyst is an alternative for commercial noble metal catalysts for the removal of VOCs. An in situ molten salt strategy is developed for the convenient preparation of Mn 2 O 3 nanowires-supported single-atom silver catalysts with high activity for toluene oxidation. The significant enhancement in catalytic stability of the ceria-modified single-atom silver catalyst is due to the timely replenishment of the surface reactive lattice oxygen species. The high cost, and low H 2 O-, CO 2 -, and SO 2 -resistance of such catalysts are worthy to be improved. Herein we fabricated Ce-, V-, or W-doped TiO 2 supported ultralow loading Pt catalysts via the in-situ molten salt method, and evaluated their catalytic performance for acetone (major pollutants in pharmaceutical industry) removal. Under the present reaction conditions, all the catalysts exhibited high catalytic activity and stability for acetone oxidation, with the temperature required 90% acetone conversion being of 245 °C over 0.57 wt% CeO 2 -0.05 wt% Pt/TiO 2. The doping of Ce, V, or W enhanced the H 2 O-, CO 2 -, and SO 2 -tolerance ability of 0.05 wt% Pt/TiO 2. More than 85 %85%, 70%, or 60% of acetone could be removed even in the presence of 20 vol% water vapor, 10 vol% CO 2 , or 100 ppm SO 2 , respectively. The improvement in SO 2 -tolerance ability was due to the inhibition of SO 2 adsorption and oxidation activity as well as Ti(SO 4) 2 or TiOSO 4 formation. Acetone complete oxidation over 0.57 wt% CeO 2 -0.05 wt% Pt/TiO 2 would follow the pathway: adsorbed acetone molecules → acetic acid and formic acid → carbonate species → CO 2 and H 2 O. We hypothesised that the use of the anti-androgenic drug 5α-reductase inhibitors (5-ARIs) improves survival in patients with oesophago-gastric cancer. This nationwide Swedish population-based cohort study included men who underwent surgery for oesophageal or gastric cancer between 2006-2015, with follow-up until the end of 2020. Multivariable Cox regression estimated hazard ratios (HR) for associations between 5-ARIs use and 5-year all-cause mortality (main outcome) and 5-year disease-specific mortality (secondary outcome). The HR was adjusted for age, comorbidity, education, calendar year, neoadjuvant chemo(radio)therapy, tumour stage, and resection margin status. Among 1769 patients with oesophago-gastric cancer, 64 (3.6%) were users of 5-ARIs. Compared to non-users, users of 5-ARIs were not at any decreased risk of 5-year all-cause mortality (adjusted HR 1.13, 95% CI 0.79-1.63) or 5-year disease-specific mortality (adjusted HR 1.10, 95% CI 0.79-1.52). Use of 5-ARIs was not associated with any decreased risk of 5-year all-cause mortality in subgroup analyses stratified by categories of age, comorbidity, tumour stage, or tumour subtype (oesophageal or cardia adenocarcinoma, non-cardia gastric adenocarcinoma, or oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma). This cohort description presents the Nordic Helicobacter Pylori Eradication Project (NordHePEP), a population-based cohort of patients having received eradication treatment for Helicobacter pylori (HP). The cohort is created with the main purpose of examining whether and to what extent HP eradication treatment influences the risk of gastrointestinal cancer. NordHePEP includes all adults (aged ≥18 years) having been prescribed and dispensed HP eradication treatment according to the nationwide complete drug registries in any of the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden) between 1994 and 2020 (start and end year varies between countries). We have retrieved and merged individual-level data from multiple national registries, including drug, patient, cancer, population, and death registries. The cohort includes 674,771 patients having received HP eradication treatment. During up to 23 years of follow-up, 59,292 (8.8%) participants were diagnosed with cancer (non-melanoma skin cancer excluded), whereof 15,496 (2.3%) in the gastrointestinal tract. We will analyse HP eradication treatment in relation to gastrointestinal cancer risk. Standardised incidence ratios will be calculated as the observed cancer incidence in the cohort divided by the expected cancer incidence, derived from the background population of the corresponding age, sex, and calendar year. Herein, by optimizing the deposition process of CeO 2 and CuO onto γ-Al 2 O 3 , highly dispersed CuO clusters on unique CeO 2 -Al 2 O 3 support with small CeO 2 particles (7Cu-Ce/CeAl) were successfully constructed for efficient NO reduction by CO, which exhibited much higher NO removal efficiency and N 2 selectivity than CuO catalysts supported on γ-Al 2 O 3 (7Cu/Al) and conventional CeO 2 -Al 2 O 3 support (7Cu/CeAl). Moreover, H 2 O showed limited inhibition effect on the catalytic performance of 7Cu-Ce/CeAl catalyst. With the help of Raman spectra, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy, etc. , it was clearly revealed that the abundant Cu+/Ce3+ paired sites with surface synergetic oxygen vacancies (SSOV) on 7Cu-Ce/CeAl catalyst could effectively facilitate the adsorption and activation of CO and NO, thus significantly enhancing the NO removal efficiency. Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x with NH 3 has been widely used for the removal of NO x. Because of the inevitable disadvantages of conventional V 2 O 5 -WO 3 (MoO 3)/TiO 2 catalysts such as poor low-temperature SCR activity and toxicity of vanadium, as well as the high-cost and over-strong NH 3 adsorption of zeolite catalysts, the development of efficient and non-toxic metal oxide SCR catalysts is highly demanded. Previously, we have developed an environmentally-benign CeO 2 -SiO 2 mixed-oxide SCR catalyst (CeSi 2), which exhibited superior SO 2 resistance ability. However, the low-temperature SCR activity on CeSi 2 was not that satisfactory. In this work, we proposed a new strategy of Mo doping to improve the low-temperature SCR activity on CeSi 2 , which was very crucial for its practical application. By a simple co-precipitation method, a homogenous Mo-Ce-Si mixed-oxide catalyst was prepared. The Mo doping could significantly enhance the NH 3 -SCR activity on CeSi 2 below 250 °C, and the optimal catalyst was Mo 0.1 CeSi 2 , which could achieve 80% NO x conversion at 200 °C. Mo 0.1 CeSi 2 also exhibited superior N 2 selectivity and resistance to SO 2 /H 2 O poisoning. Via a series of characterizations, it was found that the redox properties and surface acidity on CeSi 2 by Mo doping, which accounted for the enhanced low-temperature NH 3 -SCR activity on Mo 0.1 CeSi 2. The reaction mechanism on Mo 0.1 CeSi 2 was also fully revealed by in situ DRIFTS experiments. Three-dimensionally ordered mesoporous Cr 2 O 3 ( meso -Cr 2 O 3 ) and its supported Au, Pd, and Au–Pd (0.90 wt% Au/ meso -Cr 2 O 3 , 1.00 wt% Pd/ meso -Cr 2 O 3 , and x Au 1 Pd 2 / meso -Cr 2 O 3 ( x = 0.50–1.95 wt%) catalysts were prepared using the KIT-6-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction methods, respectively. Physicochemical properties of the samples were characterized by means of numerous techniques, and their catalytic activities were evaluated for the oxidation of toluene. It is found that the meso -Cr 2 O 3 with a high surface area of 74 m 2 /g was rhombohedral in crystal structure and the noble metal nanoparticles (NPs) with a size of 2.9–3.7 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of meso -Cr 2 O 3 . The 1.95Au 1 Pd 2 / meso -Cr 2 O 3 sample performed the best: the T 10% , T 50% , and T 90% (temperatures required for achieving toluene conversions of 10, 50, and 90%) were 87, 145, and 165 °C at a space velocity of 20,000 mL/(g h), respectively, and the apparent activation energy was the lowest (31 kJ/mol) among all of the samples. The effect of moisture on the catalytic activity of the 1.95Au 1 Pd 2 / meso -Cr 2 O 3 sample was also examined. Three-dimensionally ordered macro-/mesoporous silica (3DOM SiO 2 )-supported manganese oxide and gold nanocatalysts ( y Au/ z MnO x /3DOM SiO 2 , y = 0–0.95 wt%; z = 2.7–15.4 wt% (weight percentage of Mn 2 O 3 )) were prepared using the polymethyl methacrylate-templating, incipient wetness impregnation, and polyvinyl alcohol-protected reduction methods, respectively. It is shown that the y Au/ z MnO x /3DOM SiO 2 samples displayed a high-quality 3DOM architecture with macropores (180–200 nm in diameter) and mesopores (4–6 nm in diameter) and a surface area of 220–318 m 2 /g. MnO x nanoparticles (NPs) with a size of 18.7–25.7 nm were dispersed on the surface of 3DOM SiO 2 , and Au NPs with a size of 3.6–3.8 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of z MnO x /3DOM SiO 2 . The 0.93Au/11.2MnO x /3DOM SiO 2 sample performed the best (the temperature required for achieving a 90% toluene conversion was 255 °C at space velocity = 20,000 mL/(g h)) for toluene oxidation. It is concluded that the higher oxygen adspecies concentration, better low-temperature reducibility, and stronger interaction between Au and MnO x NPs as well as the unique bimodal porous structure were responsible for the good catalytic performance of 0.93Au/11.2MnO x /3DOM SiO 2 . The Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs) in Ag/Al 2 O 3 catalysts play a crucial role in the selective catalytic oxidation of NH 3 (NH 3 -SCO). To enhance NH 3 -SCO activity, Cu, which has stronger anchoring ability than Ag, is introduced onto Al 2 O 3 , reducing available anchoring sites for Ag. As Ag cannot displace anchored Cu species, Ag species agglomerate into larger Ag NPs even with low Ag loading. Consequently, these enlarged Ag NPs become more active centers for NH 3 -SCO. The optimal Ag:Cu molar ratio is confirmed as 2:3. This 'pre-occupied-anchoring-site' strategy decreases Ag loading to 1/5 of the original, reducing catalyst costs while maintaining activity. In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier-transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) studies reveal that NH 3 -SCO on 2Ag1.8Cu/Al (weight ratio) catalyst follows the hydrazine mechanism below 200 °C, coexisting with the imide mechanism from 200–250 °C, and solely the imide mechanism beyond 250 °C. This strategy is applicable to various transition metals, including Mn, Co, Ni, and Fe, promoting cost-effective Ag NPs formation. Inthe present study, nanodisk-like Fe2O3was firstprepared using the hydrothermal method, and then its supportedgold catalysts (xAu/Fe2O3nanodisk, x= 0.71–6.55 wt %) were fabricated using the polyvinylalcohol-protected reduction method. Under the reaction conditionsof toluene concentration = 1000 ppm, toluene/O2molar ratio= 1/400, and space velocity = 20 000 mL/(g h), 6.55Au/Fe2O3nanodisk performed the best (T50%= 200 °C and T90%= 260 °C). The apparent activation energies (46–50 kJ/mol)obtained over the xAu/Fe2O3nanodisk were smaller than that (65 kJ/mol) obtained over the Fe2O3nanodisk for toluene oxidation. Background: Lung cancer patients without chief complaints have been increasingly identified by physical examination. This study aimed to profile and compare chief complaints with patient-reported symptoms of lung cancer patients before surgery. Methods: Data were extracted from a multicenter, prospective longitudinal study (CN-PRO-Lung 1) in China from November 2017 to January 2020. A comparison between chief complaints and patient-reported symptoms was analyzed using the Chi-squared test. Results: A total of 201 (50.8%) lung cancer patients without chief complaints were found by physical examination at admission, and 195 (49.2%) patients had chief complaints. The top 5 chief complaints were coughing (38.1%), expectoration (25.5%), chest pain (13.6%), hemoptysis (10.6%), and shortness of breath (5.3%). There were significantly more patients with chief complaints of coughing (38.1% vs 15.0%, P < 0.001) and pain (20.5% vs 6.9%, P< 0.001) than those with the same symptoms rated ≥ 4 via MD Anderson Symptom Inventory‒Lung Cancer (MDASI-LC). There were less patients with chief complaints of fatigue (1.8% vs 10.9%, P< 0.001), nausea (0.3% vs 2.5%, P=0.006), and vomiting (0.3% vs 1.8%, p=0.032) than those with the same symptoms rated ≥ 4 via MDASI-LC. In patients without chief complaints, the five most common moderate to severe patient-reported symptoms were disturbed sleep (19.5%), distress (13.5%), dry mouth (13%), sadness (12%), and difficulty remembering (11.1%). Conclusion: Symptoms of lung cancer patients not included in the chief complaint could be identified via a patient-reported outcome instrument, suggesting the necessity of implementing the patient-reported outcome assessment before lung cancer surgery for better patient care. MiR-326 functions as an antioncogene in the several types of cancer. However, the underling mechanisms through which miRNA-326 regulates the anti-carcinogenesis of lung adenocarcinoma have remained elusive. The aim of this study was to explore the role and regulatory mechanism of miR-326 in cell proliferation, invasion, migration and apoptosis in lung adenocarcinoma. Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression pattern of miR-326 in human bronchial epithelial cells (HBES-2B), 4 kinds of lung adenocarcinoma cell lines (H23, H1975, H2228, H2085) and 20 lung adenocarcinoma tissues. Then, H23 cells were infected with miR-326 mimics, miR-326 inhibitors and si-ZEB1 to build up-regulated miR-326 cell lines, down-regulated ZEB1(zinc-finger-enhancer binding protein 1)cell lines, simultaneous down-regulated ZEB1 and miR-326 cell lines. Moreover, CCK-8 assay, transwell invasion assay, wound healing assay and flow cytometry assay were employed to examine the effects of miR-326 and ZEB1 on the proliferation, invasion, migration and apoptosis abilities of H23 cells. Western blot was performed to explore the effects of miR-326 and ZEB1 on the expression of invasion and migration related proteins N-cadherin, E-cadherin, MMP7, MMP13, SLUG and apoptotic proteins PARP, BAX. On the mechanism, a dual-luciferase reporter gene was used to measure the target relationship between miR-326 and ZEB1. MiR-326 expression was significantly downregulated in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and cells. Overexpression of miR-326 significantly inhibited the malignant behaviors of H23 cells. Mechanically, luciferase reporter assay showed that ZEB1 was a direct target of miR-326. MiR-326 mimic downregulated the expression of ZEB1. Furthermore, knocking down ZEB1 strongly inhibited the proliferation, invasion and migration of H23 cells but promoted apoptosis. MiR-326 could target ZEB1 to inhibit the proliferation, invasion and migration of lung adenocarcinoma cells and promote apoptosis, which is a potential therapeutic target for lung adenocarcinoma. In this work, sulfation effect on NH3-SCR performance over CeO2 with different morphology (nanocubes and nanorods) was carefully studied. A morphology-sensitive sulfation effect on NH3-SCR activity was observed on CeO2. Interestingly, the NO removal efficiencies of CeO2 nanocubes and CeO2 nanorods got greatly enhanced after the sulfation at low-temperature range (< 350 °C). CeO2 nanorods exhibited a much higher NH3-SCR activity than that of CeO2 cubes. However, compared to CeO2 nanocubes, CeO2 nanorods suffered from a severe deactivation when sulfated at higher temperatures (> 350 °C). A series of characterizations such as N2 adsorption–desorption, XRD, HR-TEM, TG–DTA, Raman and in situ DRIFTS of SO2 + O2 adsorption were conducted to investigate the interactions between SO2 and nano-shaped CeO2. It was revealed that the morphology of CeO2 nanorods was damaged severely when sulfated at high temperature (> 350 °C), while the structure of CeO2 nanocubes was relatively stable under the same condition. Furthermore, more sulfate species were found on CeO2 nanorods than on CeO2 nanocubes, in particular of bulk like sulfate species. An in situ molten salt strategy is developed for the convenient preparation of iron oxide-supported platinum catalysts with high performance for o -xylene elimination. The high catalytic performance of the supported platinum catalysts is due to the improvement in redox ability and o -xylene activation. • Supported Pt catalyst is prepared using an in situ molten salt method. • Supported Pt catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity for o -xylene removal. • Pt loading enhances the redox ability of the supported Pt catalyst. • Pt loading improves the adsorption and activation of o -xylene. • Improvement in redox ability and o -xylene activation benefit high activity. Supported noble metal catalysts are highly effective for eliminating volatile organic compounds (VOCs). A catalyst with less noble metal loading is always desirable. Using a mixture of NaNO 3 and NaF as molten salt, Fe(NO 3) 3 and Pt(NH 3) 4 (NO 3) 2 as metal precursors, x Pt/Fe 2 O 3 catalysts (x = 0–0.3 wt%) were fabricated after calcination at 350 °C for 3 h. At space velocity of 40,000 mL/(g h), 0.22 wt% Pt/Fe 2 O 3 showed the best catalytic activity, and o -xylene could be completely oxidized into CO 2 and H 2 O at 225 °C. Furthermore, 0.22 wt% Pt/Fe 2 O 3 exhibited good stability, and high resistance to water vapor, CO 2 , and SO 2. We deduce that the excellent catalytic performance of 0.22 wt% Pt/Fe 2 O 3 was associated with the high dispersion of the Pt species and good low-temperature reducibility. The possible reaction mechanism of o -xylene oxidation over 0.22 wt% Pt/Fe 2 O 3 involved the adsorption of o -xylene molecules, partial decomposition into small organic intermediates (e.g. maleic anhydride and aliphatic carboxylate species), and total oxidation into CO 2 and H 2 O. Accurate classification of adenocarcinoma (AC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in lung cancer is critical to physicians' clinical decision-making. Exhaled breath analysis provides a tremendous potential approach in non-invasive diagnosis of lung cancer but was rarely reported for lung cancer subtypes classification. In this paper, we firstly proposed a combined method, integrating K-nearest neighbor classifier (KNN), borderline2-synthetic minority over-sampling technique (borderlin2-SMOTE), and feature reduction methods, to investigate the ability of exhaled breath to distinguish AC from SCC patients. The classification performance of the proposed method was compared with the results of four classification algorithms under different combinations of borderline2-SMOTE and feature reduction methods. The result indicated that the KNN classifier combining borderline2-SMOTE and feature reduction methods was the most promising method to discriminate AC from SCC patients and obtained the highest mean area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (0.63) and mean geometric mean (58.50) when compared to others classifiers. The result revealed that the combined algorithm could improve the classification performance of lung cancer subtypes in breathomics and suggested that combining non-invasive exhaled breath analysis with multivariate analysis is a promising screening method for informing treatment options and facilitating individualized treatment of lung cancer subtypes patients. A series of Al 2 O 3 supported Pt, Rh and Pt-Rh catalysts was investigated for TWC catalysis. Profound synergy between Pt and Rh was found on all Pt-Rh compositions relative to their single metal references with significantly reduced light-off temperatures. The nature of this synergy was probed using various characterization techniques. CO chemisorption, CO-DRIFTS and XPS results show that the surface Rh concentrations on aged Pt-Rh catalysts are much higher than that of the Rh reference. In addition, on the bimetallic catalysts the Rh species is in a more reduced state as indicated by XPS and XANES. AC-STEM/EDS results clearly illustrate that there are two types of Rh species on an aged Pt-Rh catalyst in terms of its location: one sitting on Pt particles as Rh nanoparticles and the other associated with the Al 2 O 3 support as sub-nano Rh moieties. The Pt-Rh bimetallic particles contain a certain degree of Pt-Rh alloy as evidenced by the upshift of the metal XRD peaks and the Pt-Rh coordination from the EXAFS measurement. All structural and microscopy analyses suggest that Rh is surface enriched on the Pt-Rh particles, and it is the surface enriched Rh species that plays a primary role in enhancing the activity of Pt-Rh catalysts. The KIT-6-templating and polyvinyl alcohol-protected NaBH 4 reduction methods were adopted to prepare the mesoporous manganese oxide (meso-MnO y) and its supported Co, Pt, and Pt x Co catalysts, respectively. Numerous techniques were used to characterize the physicochemical properties of the materials. Catalytic performance of the samples was evaluated for methanol combustion. All of the samples possessed a three-dimensionally ordered mesoporous structure and a surface area of 94–110 m2/g. The Co, Pt, and Pt x Co nanoparticles (NPs) with an average size of 2.2–3.0 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of meso-MnO y. The 0.70 wt% Pt 2.42 Co/meso-MnO y sample performed the best: the T 50% and T 90% (temperatures required for achieving methanol conversions of 50 and 90%, respectively) were 50 and 86 °C at a space velocity of 80,000 mL/(g h). The partial deactivation of the 0.70Pt 2.42 Co/meso-MnO y sample due to water vapor or carbon dioxide introduction was reversible. Physicochemical properties of the samples were characterized by means of various techniques. Catalytic performance of the x Co 3 O 4 –MnO 2 samples was evaluated for the combustion of o -xylene. It is shown that the as-prepared samples possessed a cubic crystal structure and a surface area of 51.9–63.9 m2/g. The 8.8Co 3 O 4 –MnO 2 sample possessed the highest adsorbed oxygen species concentration and the best low-temperature reducibility, and hence performing the best: the T 10% , T 50% , and T 90% (temperatures required for achieving o -xylene conversion of 10, 50, and 90%, respectively) were 231, 251, and 273 °C at a space velocity of 100,000 mL/(g h). The apparent activation energies obtained over the x Co 3 O 4 –MnO 2 catalysts for o -xylene combustion were 72–82 kJ/mol. The effects of space velocity, water vapor, and carbon dioxide on the catalytic activity of the 8.8Co 3 O 4 –MnO 2 sample were also examined, and the partial deactivation due to water vapor and carbon dioxide introduction was reversible. Catalytic combustion of methane is widely used in industrial and transportation activities. The commonly used Pd‐based catalysts, however, are easily deactivated under hydrothermal conditions. In this work, we adopted a novel strategy to prepare a GaOx‐doped Pd/Al2O3 catalyst via the oxidative transformation of intermetallic Pd5Ga3 nanocrystals supported on γ‐Al2O3. We observed a synergistic effect between palladium and gallium oxide via formation of a bi‐functional active Pd−O−Ga phase, resulting in a highly active and exceptionally stable catalyst that could markedly suppress the sintering of noble metals under harsh conditions (hydrothermal treatment at 750 °C). Moreover, the presence of a large amount of surface oxygen vacancies and the surface Pd−O−Ga phase could promote methane combustion over the catalysts. It is believed that such a novel dual‐metal catalyst is promising in practical applications for methane combustion. Physical properties of the samples were characterized, and their photocatalytic activities were evaluated for the photocatalytic oxidation of acetone in the presence of a small amount of H 2 O 2 under visible-light illumination. It was found that the meso-Fe 2 O 3 was rhombohedral in crystal structure. The as-obtained samples displayed a high surface area of 111.0–140.8 m 2 /g and a bandgap energy of 1.98–2.12 eV. The Au, Pd and/or Au–Pd alloy nanoparticles (NPs) with a size of 3–4 nm were uniformly dispersed on the surface of the meso-Fe 2 O 3 support. The 0.72 wt.% AuPd 1.48 /meso-Fe 2 O 3 sample performed the best in the presence of 0.06 mol/L H 2 O 2 aqueous solution, showing a 100% acetone conversion within 4 hr of visible-light illumination. It was concluded that the good performance of 0.72 wt.% AuPd 1.48 /meso-Fe 2 O 3 for photocatalytic acetone oxidation was associated with its ordered mesoporous structure, high adsorbed oxygen species concentration, plasmonic resonance effect between AuPd 1.48 NPs and meso-Fe 2 O 3 , and effective separation of the photogenerated charge carriers. In addition, the introduction of H 2 O 2 and the involvement of the photo-Fenton process also played important roles in enhancing the photocatalytic activity of 0.72 wt.% AuPd 1.48 /meso-Fe 2 O 3 .
