The research is aimed at determining the deceleration factor associated with the increase in computing of a multiprocessor system. It should be noted that the research of these problems is important and relevant. The aim of the research is the further approach development associated with methodology defi nition for evaluation of the multiprocessor modular computing system effectiveness and this value impact of the computational deceleration.

This chapter draws attention to a specific feature of a NEG model that uses linear (and not iso-elastic) demand functions, namely its ability to account for zero trade. Thus, it represents a suitable framework to study how changes in parameters that are typical for NEG models, such as trade costs and regional market size, not only shape the regional distribution of economic activity, but at the same time determine the emergence of additional trade links between formerly autarkic regions. We survey some related papers and present a three-region framework that potentially nests many possible trade patterns. To focus the analysis, we study in more detail three specific trade patterns frequently found in the EU trade network. We start with three autarkic regions; then we introduce the possibility that two regions trade with each other; and, finally, we allow for one region trading with the other two, but the latter are still not trading with each other. We find a surprising plethora of long-run equilibria each involving a specific regional distribution of economic activity and a specific pattern of trade links. We show how a reduction in trade costs shapes simultaneously industry location and the configuration of the trade network.

The treaty of Rome was signed in 1957 and it started a continuous process of strengthening the internal integration of the EU. In this study, we consider the economic effects of intensified trade integration within the Union in which productive factors are also mobile. We argue that a New Economic Geography (NEG) perspective is preferable to the Heckscher-Ohlin approach. We show that trade integration leads to specialization, trade creation, and trade diversion (as predicted by a standard Heckscher-Ohlin framework), but it may also lead to agglomeration within the Union, which is typical of a NEG framework. We show that these agglomeration processes reinforce the specialization and trade effects of trade integration. Finally, we provide insights into the dynamic processes and show that the coexistence of attractors in our modeling approach is more pervasive than in a standard NEG framework.

In this paper, we put forward a four-region new economic geography footloose entrepreneur model in which regions are differentiated by their size and their geographical position along a line. There are two distinct trade blocs, each of them consisting of a pair of regions. Direct and indirect trade between all regions is allowed, whereas factor mobility can occur only between regions of the same bloc. Given this more general geographical structure, as compared to previous studies, we are able to disentangle two manifestations of the market access effect: firms can take advantage of locating both in a more central region (centrality effect) and/or in a bigger region (local market size effect). The model is able to generate a plethora of long-term outcomes, including four equilibria with full agglomeration in each trade bloc that can be ranked by factor owners. Equilibria where industry is dispersed or agglomerated in a bloc and dispersed in the other one, are also possible as well as more complex attractors. Finally, by allowing direct and indirect trade between regions, we are able to look at the effect of trade integration on transit traffic by evaluating in a preliminary analysis the consequences of policies aiming at limiting transport volumes in a model with shifting industry.

Introduction. Possible methods of pattern recognition of 2D images are described. A matched filtering method based on "in terms of level" normalization is the best way for classification of 2D images. Example of "in terms of level" normalization algorithm of 2D images. By means of example whole process of comparison of 2D images based on proposed method is presented. Proposed algorithms. Normalization algorithm of 2D reference image based on orthogonal transformation and estimation algorithm of similarity between tested and reference 2D images are proposed. Conclusions. The main advantages of the proposed method of 2D image classification are presented in conclusions. Minimization of some disadvantages is proposed., Рассмотрены методы распознавания двумерных (2D) образов. Доказано, что метод нормализации по уровню является лучшим решением при проведении классификации двумерных образов. Предложены алгоритм нормализации 2D эталонного образа при использовании ортогонального преобразования и алгоритм оценки степени подобия между исследуемым и эталонным 2D образами. При помощи приведенного примера показан весь процесс сравнения двумерных образов при помощи предложенного метода., Розглянуто методи розпізнавання двовимірних (2D) образів. Доведено, що метод нормалізації за рівнем є найкращим рішенням при проведенні класифікації двовимірних образів. Запропоновано алгоритм нормалізації 2D еталонного образу при використанні ортогонального перетворення і алгоритм оцінки ступеня подібності між досліджуваним і еталонним 2D образами. За допомогою наведеного прикладу показано увесь процес порівняння двовимірних образів за допомогою запропонованого методу.

Показано можливість використання перетворення Мелліна при класифікації образів на базі їх нормалізації або нормального перетворення при зміні масштабу аргументів досліджуваних образів відносно еталонного образу. Наведено приклад обчислень, який показав простоту застосування перетворення Мелліна. Отримана достатньо висока чутливість класифікатора до змін параметрів графоелементів досліджуваного образу відносно еталона. Introduction. Possible methods of pattern recognition are described. Transform coefficient, allowing numerically to evaluate the difference between the test and reference signal is proposed. In this case, the reference signal is selected by researcher independently, which gives more freedom. Theoretical positions. The possibility of Mellin transform using for pattern classification of images based on their normalization or normalized transformation when scale of studied images is differ from a reference image, is considered. A similar of Fourier and Mellin transforms is proved. Classification algorithm. Proposed algorithm can be used when change of scale arguments of the signals is presented. This algorithm has a clear structure that allows implement it in hardware with minimal effort. Examples. Examples of the Mellin transform using for different distortion types of the test signal are considered. The test signals have time scale and distorted form changing. The obtained sensitivity value of classifier to parameters changes of the investigated image with respect to the reference image was sufficient to get a stable work of this unit. Conclusions. The main advantages of the Mellin transform using for recognizing signals at different scales are presented is conclusions. Показана возможность использования преобразования Меллина при классификации образов на базе их нормализации или нормального преобразования при изменении масштаба аргументов исследуемых образов относительно эталонного образа. Приведен пример вычислений, показавший простоту применения преобразования Меллина. Получена достаточно высокая чувствительность классификатора к изменениям параметров исследуемого образа относительно эталона.

В статті на базі алгоритму формування матричного оператора дискретного ортогонального одновимірного перетворення створено алгоритм двовимірного перетворення. Проблема створення двовимірного перетворення полягає в великому порядку матричного оператора, якщо двовимірний образ представляється у вигляді одного рядка, утвореного послідовністю рядків (стовпців) образу. В цьому випадку для матриці образу порядку N порядок матричного оператора становить N2, тобто кількість елементів такого оператора дорівнює N4, що неприпустимо, враховуючи, що для образів N = 256…1024. Отримано просту структуру формування матричного оператора дискретного двовимірного перетворення, урахування якої дозволяє зменшити об’єм пам’яті, необхідної для обчислення коефіцієнта трансформант, до N3, що робить можливим класифікацію образів з матрицями порядку N ≈ 256…1024. Алгоритм проілюстровано на прикладі, обраному виходячи з міркувань простоти перевірки отримуваних результатів. A new 2D transformation algorithm based on algorithm of matrix operator formation in 1D discrete orthogonal transformation is presented. Complexity 2D algorithm creation is a high order of matrix operator when 2D image is presented as a sequence of rows (columns). In this case the order of matrix operator is N2 for image matrix of N order. As result, the number of its elements is equal to N4, which is equivalent of huge figure for image, having size N = 256…1024. A simple algorithm for creation of matrix operator in 2D discrete transformation was obtained. It allows reduce to N3 the memory volume, required for transform coefficient calculation. It makes possible to classify images having matrix of order N ≈ 256…1024. The algorithm is illustrated on the example selected from the ease of inspection results. В статье на базе алгоритма формирования матричного оператора дискретного ортогонального одномерного преобразования создан алгоритм двумерного преобразования. Проблема создания двумерного преобразования состоит в большом порядке матричного оператора, если двумерный образ представить в виде одной строки, образованной последовательностью строк (столбцов) образа. В этом случае для матрицы образа порядка N порядок матричного оператора равен N2, т.е. количество элементов матричного оператора равно N4, что недопустимо, учитывая, что для образов N = 256…1024. Получена простая структура формирования матричного оператора двумерного дискретного преобразования, учет которой позволяет уменьшить объем памяти, необходимой для вычисления коэффициента трансформант, до N3, что делает возможным классификацию образов с матрицами порядка N ≈ 256…1024. Алгоритм проиллюстрирован на примере, выбранном исходя из простоты проверки получаемых результатов.

Розглянуто методи розпізнавання двовимірних (2D) образів. Доведено, що метод нормалізації за рівнем є найкращим рішенням при проведенні класифікації двовимірних образів. Запропоновано алгоритм нормалізації 2D еталонного образу при використанні ортогонального перетворення і алгоритм оцінки ступеня подібності між досліджуваним і еталонним 2D образами. За допомогою наведеного прикладу показано увесь процес порівняння двовимірних образів за допомогою запропонованого методу. Introduction. Запропоновано алгоритми заміни ітераційної процедури регуляризації за А. Н. Тихоновим ітераційною процедурою з логарифмічним кроком та не ітераційним обчисленням оберненої матриці, яка складається на базі матриць похідних від напруг (по обводу контуру) по поверхневим провідностям зон. Запропоновані алгоритми легко програмуються та забезпечують високу точність та хорошу збіжність ітераційної процедури реконструкції образу з проекцій. Крім того, запропоновані алгоритми значно скорочують кількість арифметичних операцій та час обчислень на ЕОМ. Отримані результати ілюструються прикладами розрахунків. Introduction. Thereplacement algorithms of regularization iterative procedure by A. Tykhonov with iterative procedure with logarithmic step and not iterative calculation of inverse matrix are proposed. The matrix is based on matrices of derivatives from contour voltages on zones surface conductivities. The results. The results are illustrated by examples of calculations. The inhomogeneities in the form of zones and with arbitrary shape were simulated. The computation results and results of reconstruction are identical with accuracy to the 11th significant digit for inhomo-geneities in the form of zones. Defying the inhomogeneity with arbitrary shape its character and location are maintained and there is a certain "spread" in the neighboring area. Conclusions. The proposed algorithms are easily programmed and provide high accuracy and good convergence of iterative procedure of image reconstruction from projections. Besides the algorithms significantly reduce number of arithmetic operations and computation time on PC. Предложены алгоритмы замены итерационной процедуры регуляризации по А. Н. Тихонову итерационной процедурой с логарифмическим шагом и не итерационным вычислением обратной матрицы, составляемой на базе матриц производных от напряжений по обводу контура по поверхностным проводимостям зон. Предложенные алгоритмы легко программируются и обеспечивают высокую точность и хорошую сходимость итерационной процедуры реконструкции образа по проекциям. Кроме того, предложенные алгоритмы значительно сокращают количество арифметических операций и время вычислений на ЭВМ. Полученные результаты иллюстрируются примерами расчетов.

Запропоновано створення класифікатора на основі дискретного нормального ортогонального перетворення для оцінки доцільності розв’язання зворотної задачі електроімпедансної томографії за результатами вимірювань напруг на електродах по обводу контуру фантома. Створено класифікатор оцінки чутливості, який на основі обчислення коефіцієнтів трансформант сукупностей виміряних напруг дозволяє зробити висновок про потенційну можливість отримання достовірного результату реконструкції. Проведено обчислення коефіцієнтів трансформант для випадків отримання достовірних результатів візуалізації та для випадків, коли за результатами комп’ютерного моделювання напруг фантома та їх натурних вимірювань отримання надійної реконструкції розподілення опорів усередині фантома не є можливим. Отримані результати свідчать про можливість створення класифікаторів оцінки чутливості, для чого слід в процесі розв’язання задачі реконструкції створювати відповідну базу даних надійних та ненадійних розв’язків. Introduction. The classifier creation on the base of discrete normal orthogonal transformation to access the advisability of inverse Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) solving is proposed. Measured voltages on electrodes on the phantom outline are output data for EIT inverse problem solution. The necessity in preliminary assessment exists because the process of solving is labor-intensive and may not have the reliable results. The results. The sensitivity access classifier is developed. It allows to make a conclusion about potential possibility of reliable reconstruction result obtaining from calculating the transformant coefficients of measured voltages sets. The transformant coefficients are calculated in cases of reliable visualization results obtaining and in cases where the results of computer simulation phantom voltages and their measurements obtaining the reliable reconstruction of resistance distribution is not possible. The calculations are conducted for different inhomogeneities, with different values of conductivity and locations. Conclusions. The results suggest the possibility of creation the classifier for sensitivity access. The appropriate database of reliable and unreliable solutions should be formed in the process of reconstruction problem solving. Предложено создание классификатора на основе дискретного нормального ортогонального преобразования для оценки целеснообразности решения обратной задачи электроимпедансной томографии по результатам измерений напряжений на электродах по обводу контура фантома. Создано классификатор оценки чувствительности, который на основе вычисления коэффициентов трансформант сукупностей измеренных напряжений позволяет сделать вывод про потенциальную возможность получения достоверного результата реконструкции. Проведено вычисления коэффициентов трансформант для случаев получения достоверных результатов визуализации и для случаев, когда по результатам компьютерного моделирования напряжений фантома и их натурных измерений получения надежной реконструкции распределения сопротивлений внутри фантома не представляется возможным. Полученные результаты свидетельствуют о возможности создания классификаторов оценки чувствительности, для чего следует в процессе решения задачи реконструкции создавать базу данных надежных и ненадежных решений.

Проведено аналіз впливу значень поверхневої провідності неоднорідностей на зміну значень комплексних напруг по обводу контуру фантома, порівняно з однорідним фантомом з комплексною поверхневою провідністю. Проведено аналіз впливу анізотропії скінченного елемента та всього фантома в цілому на обчислювані комплексні напруги. Отримано модель скінченного квадратного елемента, який складається з 1024х1024 скінченних елементів, отриманих по спрощеним наближеним формулам. Констатовано, що незалежно від різниці абсолютних значень напруг, виміряних при різних положеннях джерела струму, їх відносні прирощення залишаються незмінними. Для боротьби з такого роду анізотропією запропоновано разом з джерелом обертати сітки фантомів, як скінченних елементів, так і зон провідності. Остаточні висновки про межі чутливості вимірювальних пристроїв можна буде зробити лише після накопичення статистичних даних розв’язання зворотної задачі, обраним авторами методом зон провідності. Introduction. The analysis of surface conductivity influence of inhomogeneities to the changes of complex phantom contour voltages comparing with a homogeneous phantom with complex surface conductivity is carried out. The analysis of the influence of finite element and all phantom generally anisotropy on the calculated complex voltages is conducted. The results. The model of square finite element is obtained. It consists of 1024х1024 finite elements obtained by simplified approximate formulas. The relative increments of voltage values are unchanged regardless of the difference in the absolute values of voltages measured at different positions of the current source. It is proposed to rotate the phantom grids of finite elements and conductivity zones with the current source rotation to overcome this anisotropy. Conclusions. Final conclusions about the limits of the measuring device sensitivity could be done only after the data accumulation of solving the inverse problem by zones conductivity method. Проведен анализ влияния значений поверхностной проводимости неоднородностей на изменение значений комплексных напряжений по обводу контура фантома в сравнении с однородным фантомом с комплексной поверхностной проводимостью. Выполнен анализ влияния анизотропии конечного элемента и всего фантома в целом на вычисляемые комплексные напряжения. Получена модель конечного квадратного элемента, составленного из 1024х1024 конечных элементов, полученных по упрощенным формулам. Отмечено, что независимо от разницы абсолютных значений напряжений, вычисленных при различных положениях источника тока, их относительные приращения остаются неизменными. Для борьбы с такого рода анизотропией предложено вместе с источником поворачивать сетки фантомов, как конечных элементов, так и зон проводимости. Окончательные выводы о границах чувствительности измерительных устройств можно будет сделать после накопления статистических данных решения обратной задачи, выбранным авторами метода зон проводимости.

The notion of consistent expectations equilibrium is extended to economies that are described by a nonlinear stochastic system. Agents in the model do not know the nonlinear law of motion and use a simple linear forecasting rule to form their expectations. Along a stochastic consistent expectations equilibrium (SCEE), these expectations are correct in a linear statistical sense, i.e., the unconditional mean and autocovariances of the actual (but unknown) nonlinear stochastic process coincide with those of the linear stochastic process on which the agents base their beliefs. In general, the linear forecasts do not coincide with the true conditional expectation, but an SCEE is an ‘approximate rational expectations equilibrium’ in the sense that forecasting errors are unbiased and uncorrelated. Adaptive learning of SCEE is studied in an overlapping generations framework.

Розглянуто особливості використання методу регуляризації погано обумовлених матриць похідних від передаточних опорів (вузлових напруг) по поверхневих провідностях при розв’язанні задачі реконструкції образу в імпедансній томографії. Використання запропонованого методу зон провідності дає можливість радикально (в сотні разів) зменшити порядки матриць похідних порівняно з класичною моделлю фантома за використання методу скінченних елементів, що значно спрощує процедуру реконструкції образів. Наведені прості приклади розрахунків показують, що для візуалізації поодиноких неоднорідностей (з визначенням геометричного положення, розмірів і характеру) достатньо використовувати неітераційну регуляризацію за А. М. Тихоновим. Ітераційну регуляризацію слід застосовувати у випадках, коли необхідно з певною точністю знати абсолютні значення провідностей неоднорідностей, що потребує великої кількості ітерацій. Альтернативою для останнього методу регуляризації є метод модифікацій обернення матриць. Наведено приклади візуалізації неоднорідності в центрі та біля краю фантома. The features of regularization method of ill-conditioned derivatives matrices from transfer resistances (nodal voltages) on surface zones conductivities solving the Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) reconstruction problems are considered. Using the proposed method allows significantly (hundreds of times) reduce the derivatives matrices orders in comparison to the classical phantom model using finite element method that noticeably simplifies the images reconstruction. The calculation examples show that for separate inhomogeneity visualization (geometric localization, size and character definition) it is sufficient to use the no iteration regularization by A. Tikhonov. The iteration regularization should be applied in cases when it is necessary to determine the absolute values of inhomogeneity conductivities with some precision; it requires a large number of iterations. The alternative method (for the last one) is the modification method for matrix inversion. The examples of inhomogeneity (in the center and in the edge of phantom) visualization are shown. Рассмотрены особенности использования метода регуляризации плохо обусловленных матриц производных от передаточных сопротивлений (узловых напряжений) по поверхностным проводимостям при решении задачи реконструкции образа в импедансной томографии. Использование предложенного метода зон проводимости позволяет радикально (в сотни раз) уменьшить порядки матриц производных по сравнению с классической моделью фантома при использовании метода конечных элементов, что значительно упрощает процедуру реконструкции образов. Приведенные простые примеры расчетов показывают, что для визуализации отдельных неоднородностей (с определением геометрического положения, размеров и характера) достаточно использовать неитерационную регуляризацию по А. Н. Тихонову. Итерационную регуляризацию следует применять в случаях, когда необходимо с определенной точностью знать абсолютные значения проводимостей неоднородностей, что требует большого количества итераций. Альтернативой для последнего метода регуляризации является метод модификаций обращения матриц. Приведены примеры визуализации неоднородности в центре и с краю фантома.

Введено поняття чутливості в електроімпедансній томографії (першого…четвертого роду). Проведено експериментальні дослідження по вимірюванню напруг по обводу контуру на створеному макеті (для рівномірного циліндричної судини з розчином солі та з розміщеними в судині неоднорідностями). Методом зон провідностей (з використанням регуляризації за А.Н. Тихоновим) розв’язано зворотні задачі електроімпедансної томографії для фантома, імітованого на ЕОМ (чутливість третього роду) та за результатами натурних вимірювань (чутливість четвертого роду). Чутливість (першого…четвертого роду) до збільшення провідності графоелементів усередині фантома виявилася значно меншою, ніж чутливість до збільшення опору. Наведено результати оброблення виміряних напруг та результати реконструкції за проекціями, отриманими за математичною моделлю та за результатами натурних вимірювань. Показане задовільне співпадіння отриманих результатів реконструкції між собою та з математичним і натурним фантомами. Introduction. The concept of sensitivity in Electrical Impedance Tomography is introduced (first – fourth type). The experimental researches measuring the voltages on the phantom outline are conducted on the created layout (for uniform cylindrical vessel with brine and placed inhomogeneities in a vessel). The main part. The inverse problems are solved for simulated on PC phantom (the third type sensitivity) and from measured results (the fourth type sensitivity) by conductivity zones method using regularization by A. Tykhonov. The sensitivity to conductivity increasing of elements inside the phantom is significantly less than the sensitivity to resistance increasing. The results of measured voltages processing and the results of projection reconstruction (obtained from mathematical model and from measured results) are described. Conclusions. The satisfactory agreements of reconstruction results between themselves and with mathematical and measured phantoms are shown. Введено понятие чувствительности в электроимпедансной томографии (первого…четвертого рода). Проведено экспериментальные исследования по измерению напряжений по обводу контура на созданном макете (для равномерного цилиндрического сосуда с раствором соли и с размещенными в сосуде неоднородностями). Методом зон проводимости (с использованием регуляризации по А.Н. Тихонову) решено обратные задачи электроимпедансной томографии для фантома, имитированного на ЭВМ (чувствительность третьего рода) и по результатам натурных измерений (чувствительность четвертого рода). Чувствительность (первого…четвертого рода) к увеличению проводимости графоэлементов в середине фантома оказалась значительно меньшей, чем чувствительность к увеличению сопротивления. Приведено результаты обработки измеренных напряжений и результаты реконструкции по проекциям, полученным по математической модели и по результатам натурных измерений. Показано удовлетворительное совпадение полученных результатов реконструкции между собою, а также с математическим и натурным фантомами.

Проведено порівняння властивостей класичного ітераційного методу реконструкції образу в імпедансній томографії і методу зон провідності з точки зору організації процедур обчислення, очікуваної точності та трудоємності отримання образу. На прикладах розрахунку показана доволі мала чутливість передаточних опорів до зміни поверхневої провідності окремого кінцевого елементу. При цьому мала чутливість проявляється, як для кінцевих елементів, розташованих в центрі фантому, так і для кінцевих елементів, розташованих по обводу фантому. Мала чутливість є причиною поганої обумовленості матриці похідних, що посилюється великим порядком матриці. Все це призводить до чисельної нестійкості при розв’язанні зворотної задачі (задачі реконструкції). Метод зон провідності дозволяє оминути вказані труднощі: призводить (за рахунок додатко-вої структуризації фантому) до радикального зменшення порядку матриці похідних, підвищення чутливості та обумовленості такої матриці. Для оцінки приведені значення передаточних опорів та похідних для рівномірного фантому та фантомів з неоднорідностями Comparison of classical iteration imagine reconstruction method and conductivity zones method properties in EIT from the point of view of calculation organization, expecting precision and computational cost of imagine receiving is carried out. Reasonably small transfer resistances sensitivity to surface conductivity changes of separate finite element is shown. Small sensitivity is appeared for finite elements, which are situated in the central part of phantom, and also for finite elements, which are situated in the phantom outline. Small sensitivity is the cause of derivative matrix bad conditionality, that is aggravat-ed with big matrix order. It led to quantity instability by solving of inverse problem (recon-struction problem). Conductivity zones method allows to avoid some difficulties: leads to de-rivative matrix order reduction, increasing of sensitivity and matrix conditionality. Transfer resistances and derivatives values for uniform phantom and for phantoms with different in-homogeneities for assessment are proposed. Проведено сравнение свойств классического итерационного метода реконструкции образа в импеданс-ной томографии и метода зон проводимости с точки зрения организации вычислительных процедур, ожидаемой точности и трудоёмкости получения образа. На расчётных примерах показана весьма малая чувствительность передаточных сопротивлений к изменению поверхностной проводимости отдельного конечного элемента. При этом малая чувствительность проявляется, как для конечных элементов, расположенных в центре фантома, так и для конечных элементов, расположенных по обводу фантома. Малая чувствительность вызывает плохую обусловленность матрицы производных, усугубляемую большим порядком матрицы. Всё это приводит к численной неустойчивости при решении обратной задачи (задачи реконструкции). В статті запропоновано методику оцінки наявності і степені розвитку кавітації рідини в трубах методами імпедансної томографії. Для реалізації методики використовуються методи реконструкції образу з використанням методу кінцевих елементів та методу «зон» провідності по електричній моделі фантома (томографічного розтину) у вигляді квадратів опорів з двома діагоналями та «зон», які складаються з цих квадратів. Наявність укрупнених «зон» забезпечує радикальне зменшення порядків систем в системах рівнянь ітераційної процедури Ньютона-Рафсона (при збільшенні кількості реконструйованих фантомів). Геометрична роздільна здатність методу реконструкції залишається такою самою, як і для класичного методу кінцевих елементів. При цьому не виникає проблема зумовленості матриці похідних від передаточних опорів по поверхневим провідностям фантома. Вибір форми «зон» провідності визначає точність реконструкції при різному розташуванні неоднорідності усередині фантома In article is offered the technique of an estimation of presence and development degree cavitations to a liquid in pipes methods of an impedance tomography. Проведено сравнение сходимости итера-ционной процедуры решения обратной задачи импедансной томографии классическим методом Ньютона – Рафсона, методом регуляризации по А.Н. Тихонову и методом асимметричного подключения источника тока к зонному фантому. Показано плохую обусловленность матрицы производных, что приводит к непозволительно высоким по-грешностям. При любом положении зонного фантома относительно источника тока регуляризация по Тихонову даёт удовлетворительный результат. Избранные для ре-шения обратной задачи методы легко программируются и удобны на практике благо-даря их использованию совместно с методом зон проводимости., The comparison of the iterative process conver-gence for the EIT inverse problem solving by classical Newton-Raphson method, regulariza-tion method by A. Tyhonov and asymmetric current source connection to zones phantom is carried out. Ill-conditionality of the derivatives matrix is shown. It leads to very big errors. The regularization method by A. Tyhonov gives satisfactory results at any position of zones phantom relatively current source connection. Chosen methods for the inverse problem are programmed easy and are convenient in practice, because of their usage with zones conduc-tivities method.

В роботі проведено аналіз точності вимірювань в імпедансній томографії напруг по обводу фантома, необхідної для розрізнення (по вимірюванням) наявності поодиноких неоднорідностей: «маленької» (площа становить 3% від загальної площі фантома), «середньої» (8,5%) та «великої» (19,59%) при різних значеннях поверхневої провідності цих неоднорідностей (на фоні фантома з поверхневою провідністю 1). Вимірювання було імітовано розрахунками напруг рівномірного фантома, фантомів з неоднорідностями та обчисленням різниць напруг (прирощень) між рівномірним фантомом та фантомами з неоднорідностями. Показано, що неоднорідності з поверхневою провідністю, більшою, ніж провідність «фону» дають суттєво менші прирощення напруг, ніж неоднорідності з меншими, ніж «фону» провідностям. Проілюстровано (чисельними значеннями прирощень) більшу чутливість при розташуванні неоднорідностей ближче до краю фантома та більших за розміром неоднорідностей. Наведено числові оцінки необхідної точності вимірювань для розглянутих варіантів неоднорідностей. The analysis of EIT phantom outline voltage measuring accuracy is carried out in this article. This accuracy is necessary for exposure of single inhomogeneity presence: “small” (it’s square is equal 3% of global phantom square), “middle” (8,5%) and “big” (19,59%) with different surface conductivity values of these inhomogeneities (background is phantom with surface conductivity σ=1). Measuring was imitated by homogeneous phantom and phantoms with inhomogeneities voltage calculating and voltage difference computing (increment) between homogeneous phantom and phantoms with inhomogeneities. Inhomogeneities with bigger surface conductivity value than background conductivity value give significantly less voltage increments than inhomogeneities with smaller surface conductivity value than background. More sensitivity with closer position to phantom outline and bigger inhomogeneities size is illustrated by means of numerous increments values. Necessary measuring accuracy numerical assessments are proposed for considered inhomogeneities. В работе проведен анализ точности измерений в импедансной томографии напряжений по обводу фантома, необходимой для выявления (по измерениям) наличия отдельных неоднородностей: «маленькой» (площадь составляет 3% от общей площади фантома), «средней» (8,5%) и «большой» (19,59%) при разных значениях поверхностной проводимости этих неоднородностей (на фоне фантома с поверхностной при 1). Измерения были сымитированы расчетами напряжений равномерного фантома, фантомов с неоднородностями и расчетом разницы напряжений (приращений) между равномерным фантомом и фантомами с неоднородностями. Показано, что неоднородности с поверхностной проводимостью большей, чем проводимость «фона» дают значительно меньшие приращения напряжений, чем неоднородности с меньшими проводимостями, чем у фона.

It is proposed to install an experimental setup in the fixed-target hall of the Nuclotron with the final goal to perform a research program focused on the production of strange matter in heavyion collisions at beam energies between 2 and 6 A GeV. The basic setup will comprise a large acceptance dipole magnet with inner tracking detector modules based on double-sided Silicon micro-strip sensors and GEMs. The outer tracking will be based on the drift chambers and straw tube detector. Particle identification will be based on the time-of-flight measurements. This setup will be sufficient perform a comprehensive study of strangeness production in heavy-ion collisions, including multi-strange hyperons, multi-strange hypernuclei, and exotic multi-strange heavy objects. These pioneering measurements would provide the first data on the production of these particles in heavy-ion collisions at Nuclotron beam energies, and would open an avenue to explore the third (strangeness) axis of the nuclear chart. The extension of the experimental program is related with the study of in-medium effects for vector mesons decaying in hadronic modes. The studies of the NN and NA reactions for the reference is assumed.

Запропоновано алгоритм розв’язання прямої задачі імпедансної томографії методом модифікацій з використанням квадратних кінцевих елементів, які утворюють «зони провідності». Кількість зон дорівнює кількості електродів по обводу фантома (наприклад, 14 при 16 електродах, два з яких призначено до підключення незалежного джерела струму). Показано економічність запропонованого алгоритму, яка є наслідком редукції внутрішніх вузлів зон. Наведено приклади дискретизації неперервного фантома на зони провідності, які, в свою чергу, складаються з квадратних кінцевих елементів. In recent decades, computational models have gained popularity for predictions of biological activities and physico-chemical properties. The major limiting point of computational models is a lack for a clear definition of their applicability domain. The work introduces the methodology for the AD assessment and performs a comprehensive benchmarking analysis of existing and new approaches. The practical AD assessment is demonstrated in a number of studies on the prediction of such properties as mutagenicity (Ames test), toxicity (inhibition growth concentration), lipophilicity and cytochromes inhibition. It is shown that the AD approaches allow to estimate the prediction accuracy for every compound individually and, thereby, to identify highly accurate predictions with the accuracy close to that of experimental measurements. All the introduced AD methods are implemented as a part of a new platform for chemical modeling (OCHEM) and are publicly available online at http://ochem.eu.

Inspired by Brexit, the paper explores the effects of splitting an integration area or "Union" on trade Patterns and the spatial distribution of industry. A linear three-region New Economic Geography (NEG) model is developed and two possible situations before separation are considered: agglomeration and dispersion. By analogy with the Brexit options, soft and hard separation scenarios are considered. Firms in the leaving region may move to the larger Union market, even on the periphery, relocation substituting trade; or firms in the Union may move in the more isolated leaving region, escaping from competition. The paper also analyses deeper Union integration following separation. Instances of multistability and complex Dynamics are found.

We consider a two-class growth model with optimal saving and switch in behavior. The dynamics of this model is described by a two-dimensional (2D) discontinuous map. We obtain stability conditions of the border and interior fixed points (known as Solow and Pasinetti equilibria, respectively) and investigate bifurcation structures observed in the parameter space of this map, associated with its attracting cycles and chaotic attractors. In particular, we show that on the x-axis, which is invariant, the map is reduced to a 1D piecewise increasing discontinuous map, and prove the existence of a corresponding period adding bifurcation structure issuing from a codimension-two border collision bifurcation point. Then, we describe how this structure evolves when the related attracting cycles on the x-axis lose their transverse stability via a transcritical bifurcation and the corresponding interior cycles appear. In particular, we show that the observed bifurcation structure, being associated with the 2D discontinuous map, is characterized by multistability, that is impossible in the case of a standard period adding bifurcation structure.

This chapter acquaints the reader with the use of dynamic models in regional economics. The focus is on the New Economic Geography (NEG) approach. A brief comparison is provided between NEG and other economic approaches to investigate regional inequalities. The analytic structure of a general multi-regional model is described, and some simple examples are presented, where the number of regions is assumed to be small to obtain more easily analytic and numerical results. Tools from the mathematical theory of dynamical systems are drawn to study the qualitative properties of such multi-regional model.

We consider a growth model proposed by Matsuyama [K. Matsuyama, Growing through cycles, Econometrica 67 (2) (1999) 335–347] in which two sources of economic growth are present: the mechanism of capital accumulation (Solow regime) and the process of technical change and innovations (Romer regime). We will shown that no stable cycle can exist, except for a fixed point and a cycle of period two. The Necessary and Sufficient conditions for regular or chaotic regimes are formulated. The bifurcation structure of the two-dimensional parameter plane is completely explained. It is shown how the border-collision bifurcation leads from the stable fixed point to pure chaotic regime (which consists either in 4-cyclical chaotic intervals, 2-cyclical chaotic intervals or in one chaotic interval).

In this paper, we deal with a three-region new economic geography model. The dynamic law which governs the migration of the mobile factor – in our context, “footloose” entrepreneurs (Commendatore et al. (Spat Econ Anal 3(1):115–141, 2008); Forslid and Ottaviano (J Econ Geogr 3:229–240, 2003)) – across three identical regions is formulated in discrete time. The resulting dynamical model belongs to the class of two-dimensional noninvertible maps (Mira et al. (1996) Chaotic dynamics in two-dimensional noninverible maps. World Scientific, Singapore). We present the local stability analysis of the map’s fixed points, corresponding to long term stationary equilibria of the economic system, and a preliminary study of its global stability properties. Our results show that the presence of a third region matters and that there are crucial differences with respect to the symmetric two-region footloose entrepreneurs model: firstly, when the manufacturing sector is absent in one of the three regions, stable asymmetric equilibria may emerge; secondly, we detect complex/strange two-dimensional attractors that cannot exist in two-region new economic geography models, which are typically one-dimensional; finally, we highlight the complex self-similar structure of the basins of attraction of some of the two-dimensional attractors.

Heterogeneity and interacting among boundedly rational agents have received increasing attention in the finance and economics literature. Recent developments on the role of heterogeneous beliefs on asset pricing and the adaptive behaviour of financial markets shed light into the complex behaviour of financial markets and provide some explanations of certain market behaviour and anomalies. This paper surveys these developments, to which the author and several coauthors have contributed in several papers, and discusses the extent to which they can address market anomalies, complexity, and stylized facts in financial markets.

The paper presents a survey of the literature that has grown out of the work of Hyman Minsky and, in particular, of the main models which have mathematically formalised the cyclical dynamics of a capitalist economy implied by the Financial Instability Hypothesis. We identify some of the issues that the existing literature has left unsolved. We then briefly summarise the contributions by Chiarella and Di Guilmi (J Econ Dyn Control 35(8):1151–1171, 2011c) and (Stud Nonl Dyn Econom forthcoming, 2012), highlighting how these papers have addressed the open questions and how they could be further developed.

The estimation of accuracy and applicability of QSAR and QSPR models for biological and physicochemical properties represents a critical problem. The developed parameter of "distance to model" (DM) is defined as a metric of similarity between the training and test set compounds that have been subjected to QSAR/QSPR modeling. In our previous work, we demonstrated the utility and optimal performance of DM metrics that have been based on the standard deviation within an ensemble of QSAR models. The current study applies such analysis to 30 QSAR models for the Ames mutagenicity data set that were previously reported within the 2009 QSAR challenge. We demonstrate that the DMs based on an ensemble (consensus) model provide systematically better performance than other DMs. The presented approach identifies 30-60% of compounds having an accuracy of prediction similar to the interlaboratory accuracy of the Ames test, which is estimated to be 90%. Thus, the in silico predictions can be used to halve the cost of experimental measurements by providing a similar prediction accuracy. The estimation of the accuracy of predictions is a critical problem in QSAR modeling. The "distance to model" can be defined as a metric that defines the similarity between the training set molecules and the test set compound for the given property in the context of a specific model. It could be expressed in many different ways, e.g., using Tanimoto coefficient, leverage, correlation in space of models, etc. In this paper we have used mixtures of Gaussian distributions as well as statistical tests to evaluate six types of distances to models with respect to their ability to discriminate compounds with small and large prediction errors. The analysis was performed for twelve QSAR models of aqueous toxicity against T. pyriformis obtained with different machine-learning methods and various types of descriptors. The distances to model based on standard deviation of predicted toxicity calculated from the ensemble of models afforded the best results. This distance also successfully discriminated molecules with low and large prediction errors for a mechanism-based model developed using log P and the Maximum Acceptor Superdelocalizability descriptors. Thus, the distance to model metric could also be used to augment mechanistic QSAR models by estimating their prediction errors. Moreover, the accuracy of prediction is mainly determined by the training set data distribution in the chemistry and activity spaces but not by QSAR approaches used to develop the models. We have shown that incorrect validation of a model may result in the wrong estimation of its performance and suggested how this problem could be circumvented. The toxicity of 3182 and 48774 molecules from the EPA High Production Volume (HPV) Challenge Program and EINECS (European chemical Substances Information System), respectively, was predicted, and the accuracy of prediction was estimated. The Online Chemical Modeling Environment is a web-based platform that aims to automate and simplify the typical steps required for QSAR modeling. The platform consists of two major subsystems: the database of experimental measurements and the modeling framework. A user-contributed database contains a set of tools for easy input, search and modification of thousands of records. The OCHEM database is based on the wiki principle and focuses primarily on the quality and verifiability of the data. The database is tightly integrated with the modeling framework, which supports all the steps required to create a predictive model: data search, calculation and selection of a vast variety of molecular descriptors, application of machine learning methods, validation, analysis of the model and assessment of the applicability domain. As compared to other similar systems, OCHEM is not intended to re-implement the existing tools or models but rather to invite the original authors to contribute their results, make them publicly available, share them with other users and to become members of the growing research community. Our intention is to make OCHEM a widely used platform to perform the QSPR/QSAR studies online and share it with other users on the Web. The ultimate goal of OCHEM is collecting all possible chemoinformatics tools within one simple, reliable and user-friendly resource.
