Şivlilik, her yıl Konya il merkezinde Regaib Kandilinin gündüzünde kutlanan ve nerdeyse tüm Konya’nın iştirak ettiği önemli bir gelenektir. İslam dinine göre kutsal kabul edilen ve Ramazan ayının da içerisinde olduğu üç ayların başlamasının kutlanmasına dayanan bu geleneğin merkezinde kuşkusuz çocuklar bulunmaktadır. Çocuklar sabahın erken saatlerinde evleri dolaşmaya başlayarak kapılarını çaldığı insanların hem Regaib Kandillerini kutlarlar hem de ev sahiplerinin verdiği ikramlıkları alırlar. Çocuklara verilen şivlilik ikramlıkları, geçmişten günümüze birtakım değişimler yaşamıştır. Geçmiş dönemlerde endüstriyel ikramlık ürünlerin çok sınırlı olmasına bağlı olarak şivlilik ikramlıkları, genellikle leblebi, ceviz, kuru üzüm, iğde, incir gibi ürünlerden oluşmaktaydı. Ancak günümüzde şivlilik ürünlerinin neredeyse tamamı çikolata, kek, bisküvi ve şekerleme gibi hazır ve ambalajlı gıdalardan oluşmaktadır. Kuşkusuz bu değişim, çocuklarda birçok sağlık riskini de beraberinde getirmektedir. Bu çalışma şivlilik tüketimi ve çocuk sağlığı ilişkisini çeşitli boyutlardan ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Konya merkez ilçelerinde 26 katılımcının yer aldığı nitel bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Fenomenolojik bir yaklaşımla gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada, yarı yapılandırılmış derinlemesine mülakat tekniği kullanılmıştır. Bu kapsamda katılımcılara, şivlilik günü çocukların topladığı gıdaların sağlıklılığı, çocukların bu gıdaları tüketmesinde ebeveyn müdahalesi, bu gıdaların çocuklarda oluşturabileceği sağlık riskleri konusunda ebeveynlerin bilinçlilik ve farkındalık düzeyleri hakkında sorular yöneltilmiştir. Görüşmeler MAXQDA Analytics Pro 2022 programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Bulguların analizinde dört temaya ulaşılmıştır. Bu temalar; çocuk bayramı olarak şivlilik, geçmişten bugüne şivlilik çantası (torbası) ve sağlık, şivlilik ürünlerinin sağlığa ve hastalığa etkisi ve şivlilik tüketiminin düzenlenmesinde ebeveyn farkındalığı şeklindedir.

تعد النقود الإسلامية مصدرا تاريخيا وأثرياً لا يقبل الشك في تحديد العلاقة بين الحكام والدول في العصر الإسلامي سواء علاقات تبعية سياسية أو تبعية مذهبية أو استقلال ذاتي تحت جناح الحكام والدول القوية أو استقلال تام، ومن ثم كانت النقود الإسلامية هي الوسيلة التي نتبين من خلالها أبعاد تلك العلاقات بين الحكام والدول خاصة وأن المصادر التاريخية قد أغفلت الحديث عن بعض هذه العلاقات وهو الأمر الذي يتضح من دراسة النقود الإسلامية، وذلك لأن النقود هي الأداة الرئيسية والوسيلة الإعلامية المهمة التي يعلن من خلالها الحاكم خضوعه لحاكم أخر. وسوف أتناول في هذا البحث دراسة النقود التي سكها بنو قرمان والنقود التي تلقي الضوء علي العلاقة بين دولة بنو قرمان والدولة المملوكية، وذلك من خلال النقود وما أوردته المصادر التاريخية المعاصرة من معلومات توضح أبعاد هذه العلاقة.Islamic coins are an indisputable historical and archaeological source for determining the relationships between rulers and states in the Islamic era. These relationships could involve political or religious subordination, autonomous self-governance under the protection of powerful rulers and states, or complete independence. Therefore, Islamic coins are the medium through which we can discern the dimensions of these relationships, especially since historical sources have often overlooked discussing some of these connections. This is evident from the study of Islamic coins, as they are the main tool and significant means of communication through which a ruler declares his submission to another ruler.In this research examines the coins minted by the Karamanids and the coins that shed light on the relationship between the Karamanid Era and the Mamluk Era. This will be done through the analysis of the coins and the information provided by contemporary historical sources that clarify the dimensions of this relationship.

The aim of this study is to examine the marketing strategies of ornamental plants in Konya province, to determine the target markets that the sector can best serve, and to evaluate all the components that can contribute to the development of the sector on a provincial basis. In this context, the sales and marketing strategies of the companies producing and selling in Konya province were identified, suggestions for improvement were presented and the potential of ornamental plants in the region was determined. It is believed that the study will make an important contribution to the literature in this area. The main body of the research consists of ornamental plant companies selling in Konya province. In order to answer the questions of the study, a face-to-face survey was conducted with 32 operators representing the main mass. Porter’s Diamond model was used to evaluate the competitiveness. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was observed that the competitiveness of the companies is low and they are not looking for alternative markets. The lack of legislation defining the sector, the problem of organisation, the fact that they consider their income to be sufficient and the lack of information at the point of sale are the main obstacles to competitiveness. In fact, the main priority for a company is to gain a competitive position in order to increase profit margins. For this reason, companies need to evaluate the opportunities that may present themselves, develop strategies to add value to customers in the long term, and determine strategies to be close to the market in order to create new markets.

In the last years of the 19th century, architects who were under the influence of the nationalist ideas that developed in the last years of the 19th century and were strengthened with the declaration of the constitutional monarchy, led to the emergence of the First National Architectural Period as a reaction. They also considered this period as an eclectic architectural style in which they reinterpreted the facade, plan and ornamental elements of Ottoman and Seljuk architecture with Western construction techniques. In this architectural process, many public buildings, hotels, bank buildings, ministry buildings, educational buildings and residences were built. Educational buildings are an important group among the new types of buildings constructed in Konya, which has maintained its political and cultural importance throughout history. In this study, the façade and spatial quality analyses of the Sanayi Mektebi, Male Teachers' High School (Dârü-l Muallimin), Girl Teachers' School (Dârü-l Muallimat) and Gazi Mustafa Kemal, Hakimiyet-i Milliye and İsmet Paşa Primary Schools, which are among the educational buildings built during the First National Architectural Period and which contributed to the identity of the city of Konya, were examined. The authenticity and conservation values of the selected educational buildings were determined and compared with each other. According to the results obtained from the façade and spatial analyses of these samples; authenticity values are determined depending on the rate of having the characteristics of the period and conservation criteria. The fact that no previous study has been carried out in this period and group of buildings using the method defined increases the originality value of the subject.

For approximately the last two centuries, countries have turned to alternative energy sources due to environmental pollution and depletion of fossil energy resources, and in this context, "renewable energy" sources have come to the fore. "Solar energy", one of the renewable energy sources, has made great progress in terms of technology and installed power during this period. In Turkey, which is one of the countries where great development has been experienced, Konya province, which ranks first in terms of installed capacity, is increasing its installed power from year to year. With the work carried out in the Karapınar Energy Specialized Industrial Zone and the solar power plants planned to be established, the electricity needs of more than one million residences will be met. This study, which aims to evaluate energy production from solar panels in Turkey through the example of Konya province, was carried out using open sources and data analysis based on qualitative research method. As a result of the study, it was determined that Konya was suitable for establishing solar power plants and the factors that make Konya stand out from other suitable provinces are; It has Karapınar Energy Specialized Industrial Zone, suitable climatic conditions, large and unsuitable for agriculture plains, etc. was determined as. Mewlânâ Jelaluddîn Rumî established close relations with the sultan, statesmen and scholars and ensured that the sufi thought was accepted by large masses. The sons of Mewlânâ, who became postnishins after Mewlânâ, tried to spread the aforementioned sufi thought that they had inherited from Mewlânâ. The Mewlevî Order was established and developed by Mewlânâ's sons and followers, taking into account the sufi thought of Mewlânâ Jelaluddîn Rumî and taking his tomb (âsitâne, hankâh) in the center. Thus, the Mewlevî Order spread to a wide geography through many Mewlevîhânes established in Anatolia from Konya Âsitâne. This situation led to the emergence of a rich economic resource, which was called Jelâlîye Vaqfs (Celâliye Evkâfı) at that time and was managed with an exceptional administration under the control of Mewlânâ sons. It was under the dominance of the Ottoman State that Celaliye Evkâfi became rich and transformed into a larger economic resource. Various foundations and privileges obtained by the sons of Mewlânâ during the Sultanate of Rûm and the Emirate of Karaman period were also preserved during the Ottoman Empire. This situation can be understood from the records in the evkâf books. It can be said that new foundations and privileges were added to these foundations under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, thus paving the way for Celâlîye Evkâfi to become one of the "eizze" foundations. Celâlîye Evkâfi constitutes the intersection point of the central authority and the sons of Mewlânâ. In this study, the historical development process of Celâlîye Evkâfi is discussed by considering archive sources, chronicles and research works. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Climate change-induced droughts have various negative impacts on different sectors, especially on agricultural sector. Altınekin District, where the research was conducted, has the lowest precipitation in Konya Province, therefore is expected to be most affected by drought. For sustainable use of water resources, each stage of agricultural production should be carried out within the framework of a specific program. With this study, knowledge level of farmers engaged in irrigated agriculture in Altınekin district regarding irrigation and irrigation programs they applied were determined through a face-to-face survey. Present findings revealed that 38.7% of the participant farmers are aged 50 years and over and a large proportion of them (54.7%) are primary school graduates. Participant farmers were all (100%) using groundwater resources in agricultural production and 88% of them stated that they did not receive any training on irrigation. While 32% of the farmers participating in the survey stated that they had knowledge about the concept of irrigation program, 68% reported that they did not have any knowledge. Incorrect and improper practices regarding efficient use of irrigation water in the region, especially regarding the irrigation program, were identified and solutions were proposed for these problems.

This study aims to determine the purchasing behavior, consumption tendencies and factors affecting the consumption of potential and existing organic food consumers in Konya province center. In order to see the general perception on organic food consumption, a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions in total was prepared. The sample size of the study was calculated as 384 according to the Simple Random Probability Sampling method, and data was collected from 553 people in total. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that 8.5% of the participants did not know the term organic food, 17.4% knew it but never consumed organic food, and 74.1% knew the term and consumed organic food. A total of 31.8% of the consumers purchased organic products once a week and the most frequently purchased product/product group was vegetables and fruits with 27.6%. The most important reason for consumers to buy an organic food is that it is beneficial for health, and the reason for not buying it is the high prices.

Economists believe that exports of high-tech industries by causing knowledge spillover, increasing competitiveness of firms in foreign markets, increasing the productivity of factors of production and rely on skilled labor, reducing risk and stabilizing export revenues, and so on, high-tech industries can be lead to rapid economic growth in all economic sectors. Several studies have stated that these effects occur only in developed countries. In this paper, the relationship between high-tech industry exports and GDP growth for 30 developing and 30 developed countries over the period of 2007–2020 by applying (Kónya, Economic Modelling, 23(6), 978-992, 2006) and (Dumitrescu and Hurlin, Economic Modelling, 29(4), 1450-1460, 2012) bootstrapping panel causality approaches has been examined and compared. Results of panel causality tests indicate that in the selected developing and developed countries, there is no significant effect of high technology export on GDP growth and there is only one-way causality from GDP growth to high technology export. In addition, the causality test at the level of countries shows that in some developing and developed countries, there is a positive causality from high technology export to GDP growth, although the number of these countries is limited in both groups. Excavated in the Sille region of Konya (Turkey) province, Sille stone (SS) is a building material used during the Roman, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods. The presence of SS in cultural assets is due to its robustness, nevertheless different environmental factors have caused the deterioration of SS based structures. Among the restoration strategies developed in order to prevent the destruction of cultural heritage, repairing mortars are the most common. These mortars can either mechanically reinforce the building or create a barrier against humidity or pollution that cause destruction. Furthermore, according to the Venice charter, mortar properties like color, freeze/thaw, etc. must match with those of the structure. In this study, for the first time composite mortar has been prepared from Sille stone powder (SSP) with polymer (epoxy, phenolic, polyurethane, and polyester) matrix. The mechanical and hydrophilic properties of the composite mortar prepared with different compositions and grain size distributions were investigated. The most suitable mortar is prepared with 30 wt.% polyester matrix and 70 wt.% SSP with grain size between 63–150 μm. The composite color fits well with the SS while its compression strength is more than 62% higher than the original SS. Moreover, the contact angle of the composite mortar is 62.15o which is higher than the 24.53o of the SS showing an increase in hydrophobicity of the structure after restoration. For this reason, polyester matrix mortar is compatible with SS-based cultural heritage and contributes to its preservation over time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
