This study examined the influence of information-seeking behavior on library services used by the disabled in Federal universities in South-west, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted for the study. The population comprises 302 disabled students in Federal universities in South-west, Nigeria. Total enumeration technique was used. A questionnaire was used for data collection. The instrument was tested for reliability, yielding Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranging from 0.74 to 0.75. Descriptive and Inferential Statistics were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that advisory, carrel and consultancy services were the most available services. The most used services were user education services and consultancy services. The respondents' information-seeking behavior mostly involves seeking information on health and retrieving information from the e-library. The study concluded that information-seeking behavior influenced the use of library services of disabled students. The study recommended that library management must provide more resources on healthrelated subjects, especially in electronic form. Finally, the management should improve their current awareness services tailored to the needs of disabled students and library staff should be trained on how to serve every library user irrespective of their challenges. The study investigated marketing of library services as a determinant for undergraduate's patronage in Oghara Polytechnic library in Delta State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design using questionnaire as instrument for data collection. The population of the study consists of 31 library staff at the Oghara polytechnic library. A total of 31 questionnaires were distributed only 25 were retrieved. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics mean and percentage mean score of 2.5 and above. The study revealed that the needs for marketing library and information services in Oghara polytechnic libraries is keeping the clients in touch, informed about resources and services that match their interests, aims at determining the needs and aims at determining the wants and demands of undergraduates. The study shows the current techniques employed in marketing library services as library website, orientation tours and workshops, blogs and podcast, and posters. The study affirmed the extent of undergraduate's patronage as once in week, twice a week and during exams. The study recommended that the library management should utilize social media to market their information resource and services to increase undergraduate's patronage, the library staff should improve their relationships with their users so as to portray a good image of the library to their users. Purpose. The paper presents library programs and remote services of the Public Library "Petar Preradović" Bjelovar during the COVID-19 epidemic in the period from March 16 to April 24, 2020, when the library was physically closed to users. The adapting of the library to emergency situations in the context of designing and implementing remote services is considered, as well as the remote communication of the library with its users using communication media and channels based on information and communication technology. Methodology. The methodological approach to the topic is presented in the research of the literature related to library management in crises and distance library services. Furthermore, an important topic covered by the literature is the media communication of libraries in crisis situations. This paper brings a synthesis of this research, i.e. a critical reflection on the topic with some examples of good practice. Results. By inspecting the relevant professional and scientific literature and through examples of good practice, it was noticed that the remote services provided in public libraries could more or less successfully implement various services that do not require physical presence of the users in the library. Likewise, these services can be further promoted and developed in collaboration with the local joint media programs, with the help of communication channels based on information and communication technology. Value. The paper emphasizes the importance of adapting library operations to extraordinary situations, in this case the COVID-19 epidemic, both in theory and in practice. Furthermore, the paper highlights examples of good practice that should serve as an example to other librarians in setting guidelines for designing and implementing distance services. The social media have significantly changed almost every part of our being. They have changed the shape and nature of communication. Before the emergence of social media platforms, communication was mainly face-to-face as distance was an essential barrier in communication engagement, but that has changed with the emergence of social media platforms. In addition, library services are also experiencing serious changes as a result of the emergence of social media platforms. This is because services that were once rendered in library halls can now be rendered outside of library building. Library users also have new expectations from library managements. They desire to have services rendered to them in a simple and technologicalbased manner than before. These changes have made researchers interested in examining issues related to changes that have taken place in library management in the social media era. This study examined the use of mediated platforms for creating awareness regarding the services in libraries in Nigeria. The study was guided by five objectives. Descriptive survey was used as the design of the study. Both librarians (n=300) and library users (n=300) were sampled for the study. The questionnaire served as the instrument for data collection. Descriptive analysis like simple percentages, mean and standard deviation were used for the study. It was found that there is low extent of application of social media for the purposes of increasing public awareness of services in libraries. Also, seven objectives of applying social media to enhance awareness of services in libraries were found. Seven strategies for using social media to promote library services were also reported. Six obstacles to the use of social media to promote library services were also reported. They are: lack of skilful manpower; inadequate finance; lack of interest on the part of library management; lack of appropriate and up to date tool; inadequate staff members and lack of a conducive working environment. The perceived influence of exposure to social media messages promoting library services were also reported. The results of this study have implications on library practice and scholarship. Regarding library practice, the results suggests that to effectively promote library services with a corresponding possibility for increased patronage, there is the need for management of libraries to address serious issues of inadequate manpower, lack of facilities and poor funding. When this is done, it is hoped that social media could be fully applied for the purposes of promoting library services in Nigeria. In terms of scholarship, the results of the study has added to the body of literature regarding the important role that social media platforms are now playing in different spheres of the society. In particular, the results has added to studies on the role of social media in library services. It is therefore, recommended that library management should put in place programs and policies that support the use of social media to promote library services. The article presents a study which examined the relationship between library services and its budget, number of employees and primary clientele. Institutions of higher education have experienced serious fiscal pressures in recent years due to which academic libraries have had to reduce costs. There has been a decline in the percentage of university budget allocations to members of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) from 3.91 percent in 1982 to 3.32 percent in 1992. Traditional measures of academic library quality considered factors such as the number of volumes owned, number of journal subscriptions. However the new measures of library quality include quality of services, customer satisfaction, patron perception of library service quality, market penetration and assessment of impact. The aspects of library services examined were number of reference transactions, number of instructional presentations to groups and number of attendees at group presentations. This study found a relationship between the ARL Index, staffing, and expenditures, and library services.

In spring 2013, the ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule, Zürich) library management gave out the job of revising the library's web portal. This job seemed attractive as the work promised to produce immediately visible results because the revision procedure was expressly meant to be carried out as quickly as possible. Surveys and the daily work with the clients had shown that improvements were necessary and that adjustments to new usage trends had to be carried out. Most libraries have fully integrated cadres of student assistants into their daily operations, including helping at points of service. As libraries rely more and more on student assistants, we must maintain exceptional customer service to our users. This requires our student assistants to possess information literacy skills that exceed those of our users. This assessment investigates the information literacy skills of first-year library student assistants when compared to the general first-year student population, and it examines if first-year library student assistants’ information literacy skills increase more than those of their peers during their first semester at college. The purpose of the study is to empirically investigate the relationship between the quality of services provided by the library and the level of user satisfaction from these services. The data was collected with self administered questionnaires from the SCEE NUST (School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Science and Technology) library users. The study used regression analysis to analyze the data. Results show a significant positive relationship between library services quality and user satisfaction. A public library is aimed to provide services to all age groups of a community. Thus, it should attempt to meet the specific needs of each user age group. The article is based on the empirical analysis of statistical data of the Bežigrad Public Library for the year 2007, a year before the integration of all Ljubljana public libraries and the merge of membership database took place. The lending of library collection arranged by the potential user age groups was analysed and consequently the suitability of shelf arrangement was evaluated. The article presents a research study about the increasing library services at Ohio State University (OSU). The main purpose of this study is to identify patterns within the record of canceled interlibrary requests that could point out some reasons why OSU Libraries' patrons still request interlibrary services for documents that are already available for them. The study will utilize the patterns among OSU groups of users, items requested, and the citations used and patterns of navigating searches navigations of searching links for the desired items.

Defining the services of a parliamentary library, be it that of the National Assembly of Québec or another, presumes that one takes into account several factors namely, that the library is an internal service and that it operates according to the techniques of the day with the resources available. Once these factors are taken into consideration, management can call upon different techniques such as contact with users, listening to their needs, observing practices elsewhere, and the use of studies and surveys to adapt its services. Background: St Martin's College pre-registration health students spend up to half their course on periods of placement, during which times they need to be able to access learning resources. The project aimed to replicate the Health and Education Northumbria Students Access to Learning resources (HENSAL) project. Objective: To look at patterns of use and access to learning resources for health students on placement. Methods: Questionnaires were distributed to students who had recently returned from a placement. Five Practice Placement Facilitators were interviewed to gain their views. Results: There was a 60% return rate ( n = 268) for the questionnaire. Most students thought access to learning resources was important yet these were not always available and varied according to placement type. Students still made regular use of the College library while they were on placement but had some difficulties. Students used electronic resources, tending to access them from home. Conclusions: The results indicated that there were issues which needed to be addressed by the College's Faculty of Health and Social Care, Library and IT services, the local NHS Trust libraries and the local Strategic Health Authority to improve access to and use of learning resources. Purpose - To show that many of the old ways in which people think about libraries are not based on fact, but rather on fiction. Many ideas that library managers hold to be truths are, in fact, baseless assumptions about library operations. Design/methodology/approach - Uses six examples of how library management often applies old approaches to the detriment of the library's future. After describing these examples, the truth about them is revealed as each one is examined and their fallacies are laid out. Findings - There are many assumptions that play in managing a library. Some of these are not based on fact and, as such, need to be discarded. Originality/value - Challenges managers to seek out the facts rather than base library policy on assumed truths. The article presents the challenges in the implementation and administration of interlibrary loans. It states that most researchers and library users ignore the use of indexes and another problem encountered is the case of incomplete bibliographical citations. Library users also keep on sending interlibrary loan request even if the material requested is already available in the library. Patrons also complain of requiring them to pick-up the item they ordered online. It also mentions the problem to be encountered when publishers raise their copyright fees in the future.

The article features the library service, self-checkout. Self-checkout systems are beginning to be integrated along most of libraries' automation systems. The most common self-check out systems utilized in libraries are those with radio frequency identification systems because library users find it easy to use. The system is compose of an electromagnetic desensitizer, user instruction screen and a barcode reader. Suggestions regarding implementation of self-checkout systems in libraries includes analysis of reasons in adopting the system, workstation locations, staff impacts and cost of equipments.

The article offers information on how to maximize and improve gaming programs on libraries that offer library 2.0 to give teens a very positive and educational experience. In some libraries, the teens are given the privilege to run the gaming programs, decide what games to have, compete in library teams, or post their comments about games in general or library tournaments on their library's blogs. Another possibility would be to provide a program that shows teens how to make the games that they are playing and allow teens to control the content that they consume.
