Several letters to the editor are presented in response to various articles including the one on Windows 10 in Issue 456, "Question of the Fortnight," in Issue 458, and "The Final Straw," in Issue 458.

The article traces the history of the Northeast of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC). NEPIC was established in 2005 to improve the growth of the chemistry-using industries by working on projects that enhance sustainability. The group has established the Process Industry Carbon Capture and Storage Inititative and has used its collective intelligence to develop a growth strategy. They have also started collaborative development projects focused on energy and product efficiency investments.

The article discusses the current skills shortage in the process industry sector in Great Britain. It states that most companies in the process industry sector, particularly the large ones, are not doing their part which has been the reason why small and medium-sized companies are being reluctant to train people. Moreover, these companies were not and still not prepared to pay for the basic training of their workforce, and another is on the extra complexity in the recruitment process.

The article focuses on the oil and gas industry of Great Britain, discussing the impact of fall in the oil prices on global economy and other commodities. It reports that the fall in the prices may have economic gains bust it is for short term. The prices later can affect the global economy, can result into currency fluctuations and the cost of the industrial and consumers goods. The consumer can enjoy the initial gains but will suffer global recession.
