Smoking and alcohol consumption were associated with the development of depression and anxiety. 3′UTR APA quantitative trait loci (3'aQTLs) have been associated with multiple health states and conditions. Our aim is to evaluate the interactive effects of 3'aQTLs-alcohol consumption/tobacco smoking on the risk of anxiety and depression. The 3'aQTL data of 13 brain regions were extracted from the large-scale 3'aQTL atlas. The phenotype data (frequency of cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking, anxiety score, self-reported anxiety, depression score and self-reported depression) of 90,399–103,011 adults aged 40–69 years living in the UK and contributing to the UK Biobank during 2006–2010, were obtained from the UK Biobank cohort. The frequency of cigarette smoking and alcohol drinking of each subject were defined by the amount of smoking and alcohol drinking of self-reported, respectively. The continuous alcohol consumption/smoking terms were further categorized in tertiles. 3'aQTL-by-environmental interaction analysis was then performed to evaluate the associations of gene-smoking/alcohol consumption interactions with anxiety and depression using generalized linear model (GLM) of PLINK 2.0 with an additive mode of inheritance. Furthermore, GLM was also used to explore the relationship between alcohol consumption/smoking with hazard of anxiety/depression stratified by allele for the significant genotyped SNPs that modified the alcohol consumption/smoking-anxiety/depression association. The interaction analysis identified several candidate 3'aQTLs-alcohol consumption interactions, such as rs7602638 located in PPP3R1 (β = 0.08, P = 6.50 × 10−6) for anxiety score; rs10925518 located in RYR2 (OR = 0.95, P = 3.06 × 10−5) for self-reported depression. Interestingly, we also observed that the interactions between TMOD1 (β = 0.18, P = 3.30 × 10−8 for anxiety score; β = 0.17, P = 1.42 × 10−6 for depression score), ZNF407 (β = 0.17, P = 2.11 × 10−6 for anxiety score; β = 0.15, P = 4.26 × 10−5 for depression score) and alcohol consumption was not only associated with anxiety, but related to depression. Besides, we found that relationship between alcohol consumption and hazard of anxiety/depression was significantly different for different SNPs genotypes, such as rs34505550 in TMOD1 (AA: OR = 1.03, P = 1.79 × 10−6; AG: OR = 1.00, P = 0.94; GG: OR = 1.00, P = 0.21) for self-reported anxiety. The identified 3'aQTLs-alcohol consumption/smoking interactions were associated with depression and anxiety, and its potential biological mechanisms need to be further revealed. Our study identified important interactions between candidate 3'aQTL and alcohol consumption/smoking on depression and anxiety, and found that the 3'aQTL may modify the associations between consumption/smoking with depression and anxiety. Tobacco smoke exposure is a major environmental risk factor that facilitates the development and progression of asthma. Our previous study showed that CpG oligodeoxynucleotide (CpG-ODN) inhibits thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP)-dendritic cells (DCs) to reduce Th2/Th17-related inflammatory response in smoke-related asthma. However, the mechanism underlying CpG-ODN -downregulated TSLP remains unclear. A combined house dust mite (HDM)/cigarette smoke extract (CSE) model was used to assess the effects of CpG-ODN on airway inflammation, Th2/Th17 immune response, and amount of IL-33/ST2 and TSLP in mice with smoke-related asthma induced by adoptive transfer of bone-marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) and in the cultured human bronchial epithelium (HBE) cells administered anti-ST2, HDM, and/or CSE. In vivo, compared to the HDM alone model, the combined HDM/CSE model had aggravated inflammatory responses, while CpG-ODN attenuated airway inflammation, airway collagen deposition, and goblet cell hyperplasia and reduced the levels of IL-33/ST2, TSLP, and Th2/Th17-cytokines in the combined model. In vitro, IL-33/ST2 pathway activation promoted TSLP production in HBE cells, which could be inhibited by CpG-ODN. CpG-ODN administration alleviated Th2/Th17 inflammatory response, decreased the infiltration of inflammatory cells into the airway, and improved the remodeling of smoke-related asthma. Disrupted brain structures and several life environmental factors have been shown to influence depression and anxiety, but their interactions with anxiety and depression remain elusive. Genome‐wide association study datasets of 15 brain structure longitudinal changes (N = 15,640) were obtained from the published study. Genotype and phenotype‐related data of depression, anxiety, and life environmental factors (including smoking, alcohol drinking, coffee intake, maternal smoking, physical activity, vitamin D, insomnia, sleep duration, and family satisfaction) were collected from UK Biobank. We calculated the polygenic risk scores (PRS) of 15 brain structure changes and then conducted linear regression analyses to explore the interactions of brain structure changes and life environmental factors on depression and anxiety using 15 brain structure change‐related PRS, life environmental factors and interactions of them as instrumental variables, and depression score or anxiety score as outcomes. Sex stratification in all analyses was performed to reveal sex‐specific differences in the interactions. We found 14 shared interactions related to both depression and anxiety in total sample, such as alcohol drinking × cerebellum white matter 3 (WM; beta = −.003, p =.018 for depression; beta = −003, p =.008 for anxiety) and maternal smoking × nucleus accumbens 2 (beta =.088, p =.002 for depression; beta =.070, p =.008 for anxiety). We also observed sex‐specific differences in the interactions, for instance, alcohol drinking × cerebellum WM 3 was negatively associated with depression and anxiety in males (beta = −.004, p =.020 for depression; beta = −.005, p =.002 for anxiety). Our study results reveal the important interactions between brain structure changes and several life environmental factors on depression and anxiety, which may help to explore the pathogenesis of depression and anxiety. Psychiatric disorders and neuroticism are closely associated with central nervous system, whose proper functioning depends on efficient protein renewal. This study aims to systematically analyze the association between anxiety / depression / neuroticism and each of the 439 proteins. 47,536 pQTLs of 439 proteins in brain, plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were collected from recent genome-wide association study. Polygenic risk scores (PRS) of the 439 proteins were then calculated using the UK Biobank cohort, including 120,729 subjects of neuroticism, 255,354 subjects of anxiety and 316,513 subjects of depression. Pearson correlation analyses were performed to evaluate the correlation between each protein and each of the mental traits by using calculated PRSs as the instrumental variables of protein. In general population, six correlations were identified in plasma and CSF such as plasma protease C1 inhibitor (C1-INH) with neuroticism score (r = − 0.011, P = 2.56 × 10− 9) in plasma, C1-INH with neuroticism score (r = -0.010, P = 3.09 × 10− 8) in CSF, and ERBB1 with self-reported depression (r = − 0.012, P = 4.65 × 10− 5) in CSF. C1-INH and ERBB1 may induce neuroticism and depression by affecting brain function and synaptic development. Gender subgroup analyses found that BST1 was correlated with neuroticism score in male CSF (r = − 0.011, P = 1.80 × 10− 5), while CNTN2 was correlated with depression score in female brain (r = − 0.013, P = 6.43 × 10− 4). BST1 and CNTN2 may be involved in nervous system metabolism and brain health. Six common candidate proteins were associated with all three traits (P < 0.05) and were confirmed in relevant proteomic studies, such as C1-INH in plasma, CNTN2 and MSP in the brain. Background: T-2 toxin is thought to induce the growth plate and articular cartilage damage of Kashin-Beck disease (KBD), an endemic osteochondropathy in China. This study aims to explore the potential underlying mechanism of such toxic effects by integrating DNA methylation and gene expression profiles. Methods: In this study, C28/I2 chondrocytes were treated with T-2 toxin (5 ng/mL) for 24 h and 72 h. Global DNA methylation level of chondrocyte was tested by Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay. Genome-wide DNA methylation and expression profiles were detected using Illumina Infinium HumanMethylation850 BeadChip and RNA-seq technique, respectively. Differentially methylated genes (DMGs) and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified mainly for two stages including 24 h group versus Control group and 72 h group versus 24 h group. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses were performed by Metascape. DMGs and DEGs were further validated by Sequenom MassARRAY system and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: The global DNA methylation levels of chondrocytes exposed to T-2 toxin were significantly increased (P < 0.05). For 24 h group versus Control group (24 VS C), 189 DEGs and 590 DMGs were identified, and 4 of them were overlapping. For 72 h group versus 24 h group (72 VS 24), 1671 DEGs and 637 DMGs were identified, and 45 of them were overlapping. The enrichment analysis results of DMGs and DEGs both showed that MAPK was the one of the mainly involved signaling pathways in the regulation of chondrocytes after T-2 toxin exposure (DEGs: P24VSc = 1.62 × 10− 7; P72VS24 = 1.20 × 10− 7; DMGs: P24VSc = 0.0056; P72VS24 = 3.80 × 10− 5). Conclusions: The findings depicted a landscape of genomic methylation and transcriptome changes of chondrocytes after T-2 toxin exposure and suggested that dysfunction of MAPK pathway may play important roles in the chondrocytes damage induced by T-2 toxin, which could provide new clues for understanding the potential biological mechanism of KBD cartilage damage induced by T-2 toxin. The configurationally stable α‐N‐Boc substituted tertiary organolithium species and pinacolborane (HBpin) underwent enantiospecific borylation at −78 °C with the formation of a new stereogenic C−B bond. This reaction has a broad scope, enabling the synthesis of various α‐amino tertiary boronic esters in excellent yields and, importantly, with universally excellent enantiospecificity (>99 % es) and complete retention of configuration. Thiourea aldehyde resin-based heteroatom doping carbon and graphene composites (RHDC/GN) were prepared by an in situ polymerization and carbonization. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images showed that thiourea aldehyde resin deposited on lamellar GO flakes during the polymerization and RHDC/GN composites had a hierarchical structure. The specific capacitance of the RHDC/GN composites was high up to 355 F g, much higher than that of the pure thiourea aldehyde resin-based heteroatom doping carbon (RHDC) with specific capacitance of 135 F g at a current density of 1.0 A g in 6-M KOH electrolyte. And the hetroatoms in RHDC/GN composites increase the specific capacitance, and GN enhances the conductivity of the electrodes which is beneficial to improving electrochemical cycling stability of the electrode significantly. Nitrogen and sulfur porous co-doped carbonized materials were successfully prepared from polyurethane (PU) using KOH as an activating agent with promising electrochemical performances. Many micropores imbedded in the carbon materials are beneficial to electrolyte transport and the resulting specific surface area of the porous samples is up to 2216 m g measured by the N adsorption-desorption method. The electrochemical performances of the activated carbon samples were tested as supercapacitors in a three-electrode system and the Ragone plot was examined in a two-electrode cell with a 6 M KOH solution as electrolytes. The specific capacitance of porous carbon material PUC-2:1 (the mass ratio of KOH and PUC was 2:1 at an active temperature of 750 °C for 2 h) reaches 395 F g at the current density of 1 A g, and the capacitance retention is 95.3% after 4000 charge-discharge cycles at a large current density of 10 A g. The energy density of PUC-2:1 is 24.4 Wh kg at the power density of 1080 W kg and still retains 12.6 Wh kg with a high power density of 21.6 kW kg at a high current density of 10 A g. This study was aimed to evaluate the associations of adult heel bone mineral density (BMD) with birth weight and growth parameters at the age of ten years. The analysis data (97178–178,494 subjects) was derived from the UK Biobank cohort. Birth weight, comparative body size and height size at the age of ten years were determined by self-report. The heel BMD was estimated by the Quantitative Ultrasound Index through the calcaneus. Linear regression analysis was applied to test the associations of adult heel BMD with birth weight and growth parameters at the age of ten years, respectively. Age, sex, body mass index and 10 principle components (PC) of population structure were used as covariates in the regression analysis of total samples. In sex-specific analysis, age, body mass index and 10 PC were used as covariates. We observed significant associations of heel BMD with birth weight (b = −0.020, P = 1.974 × 10−13), comparative body size (b = 0.020, P = 2.539 × 10−6) and comparative height size (b = −0.020, P = 5.892 × 10−11) at the age of ten years in total samples. In females, birth weight (b = −0.040, P = 2.870 × 10−24) and comparative height size (b = −0.040, P = 2.034 × 10−20) were statistically associated with adult heel BMD. In males, comparative body size appeared to be associated with adult heel BMD (b = 0.030, P = 1.590 × 10−7). Our study results support the predictive effects of birth weight and growth parameters at the age of ten years on adult heel BMD. A short and highly stereoselective asymmetric synthesis of 3,4- trans-disubstituted chromans employing nitrovinylphenols and acrolein as precursors via a domino oxa-Michael/Michael reaction is described. This cascade was efficiently catalyzed by diphenylprolinol TMS ether furnishing the products in good to excellent yields (62-91%) and excellent stereoselectivities ( dr: 94:6-97:3, 93-98% ee). The domino products can be converted into the corresponding N-alkylated trans-benzopyrano[3,4- c]pyrrolidines through a reductive amination/ N-alkylation sequence. Abstract: (La0.05Bi0.95)2Ti2O7 (LBTO) thin films had been successfully prepared on P-type Si substrate by chemical solution deposition method. The structural properties of the films were studied by X-ray diffraction. The phase of (La0.05Bi0.95)2Ti2O7 is more stable than the phase of Bi2Ti2O7 without La substitution. The films exhibited good insulating properties with room temperature resistivities in the range of 1012–1013 Ωcm. The dielectric constant of the film annealed at 550°C at 100kHz was 157 and the dissipation factor was 0.076. The LBTO thin films can be used as storage capacitors in DRAM. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Lanthanum-doped Bi2Ti2O7 thin films have been prepared using chemical solution deposition method, and then treated by different annealing temperatures. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the crystallinity of the films increased with increasing annealing temperature and the optimum temperature was found to be 800 °C. The effects of relaxation time and various annealing temperatures and films thickness on the leakage current density were investigated. The results showed that the film annealed at 800°C had good insulating properties and can be considered using in advanced MOS transistors. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: La-doped Bi2Ti2O7 nanocrystals have been prepared using chemical solution deposition technique. The (Bi1−x La x )2Ti2O7 phase is stable at a high temperature (800°C). The morphologies of SEM show that the average size of the powders is about 200nm. The precursor powders were examined by DTA and TGA with thermal analyzers. Background Depression has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases; however, its impact on cardiac and lung function remains unclear, especially when accounting for potential gene–environment interactions. Methods We developed a novel polygenic and gene–environment interaction risk score (PGIRS) integrating the major genetic effect and gene–environment interaction effect of depression-associated loci. The single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) demonstrating major genetic effect or environmental interaction effect were obtained from genome-wide SNP association and SNP-environment interaction analyses of depression. We then calculated the depression PGIRS for non-depressed individuals, using smoking and alcohol consumption as environmental factors. Using linear regression analysis, we assessed the associations of PGIRS and conventional polygenic risk score (PRS) with lung function (N  = 42 886) and cardiac function (N  = 1791) in the subjects with or without exposing to smoking and alcohol drinking. Results We detected significant associations of depression PGIRS with cardiac and lung function, contrary to conventional depression PRS. Among smokers, forced vital capacity exhibited a negative association with PGIRS (β  = −0.037, FDR = 1.00 × 10−8), contrasting with no significant association with PRS (β  = −0.002, FDR = 0.943). In drinkers, we observed a positive association between cardiac index with PGIRS (β  = 0.088, FDR = 0.010), whereas no such association was found with PRS (β  = 0.040, FDR = 0.265). Notably, in individuals who both smoked and drank, forced expiratory volume in 1-second demonstrated a negative association with PGIRS (β  = −0.042, FDR = 6.30 × 10−9), but not with PRS (β  = −0.003, FDR = 0.857). Conclusions Our findings underscore the profound impact of depression on cardiac and lung function, highlighting the enhanced efficacy of considering gene–environment interactions in PRS-based studies. Cigarette smoke (CS) facilitates adverse effects on the airway inflammation and treatment of asthma. Here, we investigated the mechanisms by which CS exacerbates asthma. The roles of IL-33 and IL-35 in asthma development were examined by treatment with IL-33 knockout (IL-33 KO) or transfection of adenovirus encoding IL-35 (Ad-IL-35) in a murine model of cigarette smoke-exposure asthma. Furthermore, the involvement of IL-33 and IL-35 in regulating DCs and Th2/Th17 cells was examined in a coculture system of DCs with CD4+ T cells. Additionally, we observed the effect of CpG-ODNs on the balance of IL-33 and IL-35. We show that CS and house dust mite (HDM) exposure induced IL-33 and suppressed IL-35 levels in cigarette smoke-exposure asthma in vivo and in vitro. Treatment with IL-33 KO or Ad-IL-35 significantly attenuated airway hyperreactivity, goblet hyperplasia, airway remodelling, and eosinophil and neutrophil infiltration in the lung tissues from asthmatic mice. Furthermore, we demonstrated reciprocal regulation between CS and HDM-modulated IL-33 and IL-35. Mechanistically, IL-33 KO (or anti-ST2) and Ad-IL-35 attenuated Th2- and Th17-associated inflammation by downregulating TSLP-DC signalling. Finally, administration of CpG-ODNs suppressed the expression of IL-33/ST2 and elevated the levels of IL-35, which is mainly derived from CD4+Foxp+ Tregs, to alleviate Th2- and Th17-associated inflammation by inhibiting the activation of BMDCs. Taken together, the IL-33/ST2 pathway drives the DC-Th2 and Th17 responses of cigarette smoke-exposure asthma, while IL-35 has the opposite effect. Smoking has caused great public health burdens in the global. Although socioeconomic factors have been confirmed to substantially influence smoking behaviors, the impact of comprehensive social deprivations on smoking behavior and related biological mechanisms are still unclear. Supported by UK Biobank cohort, we randomly divided 369,915 participants into discovery cohort (60%) and replication cohort (40%). We first tested the associations for index of multiple deprivation (IMD) and 7 IMD subdomains with ever-smoking and daily smoking frequency using regression models in both cohorts. Genome-wide by environment interaction study (GWEIS) was further conducted by using PLINK2.0 to detect the effects of the interactions between SNPs and IMD subdomains on two smoking behaviors. In discovery and replication cohorts, we observed the more deprivation status the individuals were in, the higher daily smoking frequency or risk to be ever smokers. And among the subdomains of IMD, income, education, health, living environment, and crime deprivation were positively associated with the risk of smoking behaviors, while employment deprivation was negatively correlated with smoking behaviors (all P < 0.0125). Totally, GWEIS analysis detected 23 shared significant socioeconomic-deprivation interacted loci for daily smoking frequency in two cohorts, such as rs116680599 at 2p16.3 (NRXN1, Pdiscovery = 7.68 × 10−14, Preplication = 1.96 × 10−2) and rs150451424 at 16p13.3 (RBFOX1, Pdiscovery = 1.89 × 10−10, Preplication = 1.96 × 10−2) interacting with employment deprivation. We illustrated the diverse effects of IMD on smoking behaviors and provided insights for the biological mechanisms of the interaction effects between socioeconomic deprivation with genetic factors on smoking behaviors. Immune dysregulation has been widely observed in patients with psychiatric disorders. This study aims to examine the association between HLA alleles and depression and anxiety. Using data from the UK Biobank, we performed regression analyses to assess the association of 359 HLA alleles with depression and anxiety, as determined by Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ) score (n = 120,033), self‐reported depression (n = 121,685), general anxiety disorder (GAD‐7) score (n = 120,590), and self‐reported anxiety (n = 108,310). Subsequently, we conducted gene environmental interaction study (GEIS) to evaluate the potential effects of interactions between HLA alleles and environmental factors on the risk of depression and anxiety. Sex stratification was implemented in all analysis. Our study identified two significant HLA alleles associated with self‐reported depression, including HLA‐C*07:01 (β = −0.015, p = 5.54 × 10−5) and HLA‐B*08:01 (β = −0.015, p = 7.78 × 10−5). Additionally, we identified four significant HLA alleles associated with anxiety score, such as HLA‐DRB1*07:01 (β = 0.084, p = 9.28 × 10−5) and HLA‐B*57:01 (β = 0.139, p = 1.22 × 10−4). GEIS revealed that certain HLA alleles interacted with environmental factors to influence mental health outcomes. For instance, HLA‐A*02:07 × cigarette smoking was associated with depression score (β = 0.976, p = 1.88 × 10−6). Moreover, sex stratification analysis revealed significant sex‐based differences in the interaction effects of certain HLA alleles with environmental factors. Our findings indicate the considerable impact of HLA alleles on the risks of depression and anxiety, providing valuable insights into the functional relevance of immune dysfunction in these conditions. Observational studies have shown that alterations in gut microbiota composition are associated with low back pain. However, it remains unclear whether the association is causal. To reveal the causal association between gut microbiota and low back pain, a two‐sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis is performed. The inverse variance weighted regression (IVW) is performed as the principal MR analysis. MR‐Egger and Weighted Median is further conducted as complementary analysis to validate the robustness of the results. Finally, a reverse MR analysis is performed to evaluate the possibility of reverse causation. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method suggests that Peptostreptococcaceae (odds ratio [OR] 1.056, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.015–1.098], PIVW = 0.010), and Lactobacillaceae (OR 1.070, 95% CI [1.026–1.115], PIVW = 0.003) are positively associated with back pain. The Ruminococcaceae (OR 0.923, 95% CI [0.849–0.997], PIVW = 0.033), Butyricicoccus (OR 0.920, 95% CI [0.868 ‐ 0.972], PIVW = 0.002), and Lachnospiraceae (OR 0.948, 95% CI [0.903–0.994], PIVW = 0.022) are negatively associated with back pain. In this study, underlying causal relationships are identified among gut microbiota and low back pain. Grain size control is an important aspect to manipulate the microstructure and high temperature stability of ceramic fibers. In the present work, phase competition mechanism was proposed to regulate the grain size of ZrO2/CaZrO3 composite fibers. Calcium precursor with different molar ratio of Ca/Zr was introduced to the zirconia system not only for phase stabilization of ZrO2 but also for phase competition between solid‐solution CaxZr1‐xO2‐x and new phase CaZrO3. Effects of Ca/Zr molar ratio on the thermal pyrolysis, crystallization, solid reaction of precursor fibers were fully explored. The change of grain size of fibers with various Ca/Zr molar ratio was characterized and discussed. Furthermore, the near‐infrared reflectivity and high‐temperature stability of fibrous membranes were also presented. Zirconate fibrous membranes show promising applications in high thermal insulating areas for the high melting point, low thermal conductivity and good phase stability. To satisfy the high-temperature mechanical demands, the microstructure of zirconate fibers needs further modification to accommodate high-temperature stability. In consideration of the slow ion diffusion rate and enhanced stability of solid solution, Ca x Sr 1- x ZrO 3 fibrous membranes were electrospun with molar ratio of Ca/Sr varied from 0.9 to 0.5 for the present work. The effects of strontium precursor on the pyrolysis process, phase formation and microstructure evolution were fully characterized. Modified microstructures with smaller grain size and narrow particle size distribution were achieved. Furthermore, the NIR reflectivity, thermal conductivity, and high-temperature stability were also presented. We aim to explore the combined effects of the smoking and breastfeeding on offspring mental health outcomes. We used data from UK biobank (N = 342,846) to evaluate joint effect of breastfeeding and maternal smoke during pregnancy (MSDP) on seven adult offspring mental health outcomes (self-reported depression, depression score, self-reported anxiety, anxiety score, neuroticism score, self-harm, suicide). We stratified individuals to MSDP group and non-MSDP group as well as breastfeeding group and non-breastfeeding group. Multiple linear regression and logistic regressions analysis were performed between independent variables (MSDP or breastfeeding) and dependent variables separately (seven mental health outcomes) in each stratum. Effect estimates were expressed as β values and OR values. Sex, age, 10 principle components of population structure, smoking, alcohol use, and Townsend deprivation index were examined as covariates. At MSDP grouping level, coefficients (odds ratio [OR]) for association of breastfed as a baby with self-reported anxiety (category variable) were 0.87 (95%CI, (0.82–0.93), P = 1.74 × 10–5) in the MSDP group and 0.83 (95%CI, (0.79–0.87), P = 2.76 × 10–17) in the non-MSDP group. At breastfeeding grouping level, OR for association of MSDP and self-reported anxiety were 1.15 (95%CI, (1.10–1.20), P = 5.36 × 10–11) in breastfeeding group and 1.12(95%CI, (1.06–1.20), P = 2.02 × 10–4) in non-breastfeeding group. At MSDP grouping level, negatively associations were found for breastfeeding and anxiety score (continuable variable) in MSDP group (-0.04 SD change per SD change in MSDP, 95% CI, (− 0.06, − 0.02), P = 2.42 × 10–3) and non-MSDP group (-0.06 SD change per SD change in MSDP, 95%CI, (− 0.07, − 0.04), P = 1.70 × 10–11). At breastfeeding grouping level, positive association was found for MSDP and anxiety score in the breastfeeding group (0.07 SD change per SD change in MSDP, 95%CI, (0.06–0.09), P = 1.49 × 10–20) and non-breastfeeding group (0.07 SD change per SD change in MSDP, 95%CI, (0.05–0.09), P = 7.19 × 10–8). Compared with non-MSDP group, the protective effect (reflected by coefficients) of breastfeeding on anxiety in the MSDP decreased. Our preliminary study found MSDP may lower the protective effect of breastfeeding on the adult offspring anxiety, depression and neuroticism, providing useful recommendations for health care service via quitting smoking during pregnancy and encouraging prolonged breastfeeding. The Ce3+-, Ho3+-, and Sm3+- single and co-doped oxyfluoride silicate glasses for light emitting diodes are studied. These glasses were prepared by melt quenching method and their optical and structural properties were investigated by absorption spectra, photoluminescence spectra, Commission International de I'Eclairage chromaticity coordinates, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectra. It is found that the introduction of Al2O3 in glass composition can improve the emissions of Ho3+ and Sm3+. While the presence of B2O3 has the adverse effect and can suppress the emissions of Ho3+ and Sm3+. With substituting Na2O for CaO in the glass compositions, CaF2 crystals can be formed during the melt quenching process. We find the formation of CaF2 crystals can change the emission behavior of Ho3+ and Sm3+ ions. White light emissions can be achieved in the glasses and the luminescence colors can be tuned by varying the concentrations of the doped rare-earth ions and the composition of glass matrix. Introduction: Observational studies highlight associations of common diseases with individual schizophrenia symptoms. However, it is unclear whether these diseases are associated with individual treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS). We aimed to explore the genetic associations between common immune diseases, metabolic diseases, psychiatric disorders, gut microbiota and TRS. Methods: Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data of European participants (n = ∼456,327) included TRS, 11 psychiatric disorders, 23 immune and metabolic diseases, body mass index, height, and 211 gut microbiota. In this genetic correlation and two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study, linkage disequilibrium score (LDSC) regression was applied to infer genetic correlation estimates. Two-sample MR tested potential causal associations of genetic variants associated with common immune diseases, metabolic diseases, psychiatric disorders, and gut microbiota with TRS. Results: LDSC revealed candidate associations between attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), schizophrenia, intestinal infectious diseases, obesity and TRS (genetic correlation range, 0.230–0.702; p < 0.05). Two-sample MR analyses suggested that ADHD was positively associated with TRS (estimate [SE] = 0.204 [0.073], p = 0.005), a finding that remained stable across statistical models. Besides, schizophrenia and genus Barnesiella levels were causally associated with TRS but not consistent across MR approaches. Conclusion: This study reports genetic correlations between ADHD, schizophrenia, intestinal infectious diseases, obesity and TRS. The study also found that genus Barnesiella was associated with TRS. Background: Psychiatric disorders have great health hazards and the exact pathogeny remains elusive now. We aim to explore the potential interaction effects of mitochondrial function and human behavior on the risks of anxiety and depression.Methods: The genome-wide association study (GWAS) data of mitochondrial function (N = 383,476-982,072) were obtained from published studies. Individual level genotype and phenotype data of anxiety, depression and behavioral factors (including drinking, smoking and physical activity) were all from the UK Biobank (N = 84,805-85,164). We first calculated the polygenic risk scores (PRS) of mitochondrial function as the instrumental variables, and then constructed linear regression analyses to systematically explore the potential interaction effects of mitochondrial function and human behavior on anxiety and depression.Results: In total samples, we observed mitochondrial heteroplasmy (MtHz) vs. Drinking (PGAD-7 = 6.49 × 10-3; PPHQ-9 = 1.89 × 10-3) was positively associated with both anxiety and depression. In males, MtHz vs. Drinking (PMale = 3.46 × 10-5) was positively correlated with depression. In females, blood mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNA-CN) vs. Drinking (PFemale = 8.63 × 10-3) was negatively related to anxiety. Furthermore, we identified additional 6 suggestive interaction effects (P < 0.05) for anxiety and depression.Limitations: Considering all subjects were from UK Biobank, it should be careful to extrapolate our findings to other populations with different genetic background.Conclusions: Our results suggest the significant impacts of mitochondrial function and human behavior interactions on the development of anxiety and depression, providing new clues for clarifying the pathogenesis of anxiety and depression. Background: Longevity is one of the most complex phenotypes, and its genetic basis remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the genetic correlation and potential causal association between gut microbiota and longevity. Results: Linkage disequilibrium score (LDSC) regression analysis and a bi-directional two-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis were performed to analyze gut microbiota and longevity-related traits. LDSC analysis detected four candidate genetic correlations, including Veillonella (genetic correlation = 0.5578, P = 4.67 × 10− 2) and Roseburia (genetic correlation = 0.4491, P = 2.67 × 10− 2) for longevity, Collinsella (genetic correlation = 0.3144, P = 4.07 × 10− 2) for parental lifespan and Sporobacter (genetic correlation = 0.2092, P = 3.53 × 10− 2) for healthspan. Further MR analysis observed suggestive causation between Collinsella and parental longevity (father's age at death) (weighted median: b = 1.79 × 10− 3, P = 3.52 × 10− 2). Reverse MR analysis also detected several causal effects of longevity-related traits on gut microbiota, such as longevity and Sporobacter (IVW: b = 7.02 × 10− 1, P = 4.21 × 10− 25). Statistical insignificance of the heterogeneity test and pleiotropy test supported the validity of the MR study. Conclusion: Our study found evidence that gut microbiota is causally associated with longevity, or vice versa, providing novel clues for understanding the roles of gut microbiota in aging development. Objectives: The role of neurological proteins in the development of bipolar disorder (BD) and schizophrenia (SCZ) remains elusive now. The current study aims to explore the potential genetic correlations of plasma neurological proteins with BD and SCZ. Methods: By using the latest genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data of BD and SCZ (including 41,917 BD cases, 11,260 SCZ cases, and 396,091 controls) derived from the Psychiatric GWAS Consortium website (PGC) and a recently released GWAS of neurological proteins (including 750 individuals), we performed a linkage disequilibrium score regression (LDSC) analysis to detect the potential genetic correlations between the two common psychiatric disorders and each of the 92 neurological proteins. Two-sample Mendelian randomisation (MR) analysis was then applied to assess the bidirectional causal relationship between the neurological proteins identified by LDSC, BD and SCZ. Results: LDSC analysis identified one neurological protein, NEP , which shows suggestive genetic correlation signals for both BD (coefficient = −0.165, p value = 0.035) and SCZ (coefficient = −0.235, p value = 0.020). However, those association did not remain significant after strict Bonferroni correction. Two sample MR analysis found that there was an association between genetically predicted level of NEP protein, BD (odd ratio [OR] = 0.87, p value = 1.61 × 10−6) and SCZ (OR = 0.90, p value = 4.04 × 10−6). However, in the opposite direction, there is no genetically predicted association between BD, SCZ, and NEP protein level. Comparing with the general population, the pain in depression patients has more complex biological mechanism. We aim to explore the etiological mechanism of pain in depression patients from the perspective of genetics. Utilizing the UK Biobank samples with self-reported depression status or PHQ score ≥10, we conducted genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of seven pain traits (N = 1,133–58,349). Additionally, we used FUSION pipeline to perform proteome-wide association study (PWAS) and transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) by integrating GWAS summary data with two different proteome reference weights (ROS/MAP and Banner) and Rnaseq gene expression reference weights, respectively. GWAS identified 3 significant genes associated with different pain traits in depression patients, including TRIOBP (P GWAS = 4.48 × 10−8) for stomach or abdominal pain, SLC9A9(P GWAS = 2.77 × 10−8) for multisite chronic pain (MCP) and ADGRF1 (P GWAS = 1.51 × 10−8) for neck or shoulder pain. In addition, PWAS and TWAS analysis also identified multiple candidate genes associated with different pain traits in depression patients, such as TPRG1L (P PWAS-Banner = 3.38 × 10−2) and SIRPA (P PWAS-Banner = 3.65 × 10−2) for MCP, etc. Notably, when comparing the results of PWAS and TWAS analysis, we found overlapping candidate genes in these pain traits, such as GSTM3 (P PWAS - Banner = 3.38 × 10−2, P TWAS = 6.92 × 10−3) in the stomach or abdominal pain phenotype, ATG7 (P PWAS - Rosmap = 3.15 × 10−2, P TWAS = 2.98 × 10−2) in the MCP, etc. We identified multiple novel candidate genes for pain traits in depression patients from different perspectives of genetics, which provided novel clues for understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying the pain in depression patients. Although previous genome-wide association studies (GWASs) on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have identified multiple risk loci, how these loci confer risk of PTSD remains unclear. Through the FUSION pipeline, we integrated two human brain proteome reference datasets (ROS/MAP and Banner) with the PTSD GWAS dataset, respectively, to conduct a proteome-wide association study (PWAS) analysis. Then two transcriptome reference weights (Rnaseq and Splicing) were applied to a transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) analysis. Finally, the PWAS and TWAS results were investigated through brain imaging analysis. In the PWAS analysis, 8 and 13 candidate genes were identified in the ROS/MAP and Banner reference weight groups, respectively. Examples included ADK (pPWAS-ROS/MAP = 3.00 × 10−5) and C3orf18 (pPWAS-Banner = 7.07 × 10−31). Moreover, the TWAS also detected multiple candidate genes associated with PTSD in two different reference weight groups, including RIMS2 (pTWAS-Splicing = 3.84 × 10−2), CHMP1A (pTWAS-Rnaseq = 5.09 × 10−4), and SIRT5 (pTWAS-Splicing = 4.81 × 10−3). Further comparison of the PWAS and TWAS results in different populations detected the overlapping genes: MADD (pPWAS-Banner = 4.90 × 10−2, pTWAS-Splicing = 1.23 × 10−2) in the total population and GLO1(pPWAS-Banner = 4.89 × 10−3, pTWAS-Rnaseq = 1.41 × 10−3) in females. Brain imaging analysis revealed several different brain imaging phenotypes associated with MADD and GLO1 genes. Introduction: The aims of the study were to investigate the relationship between aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member A2 (ALDH1A2) and Kashin-Beck disease (KBD), explore the effects of the rs3204689 polymorphism and methylation status on the expression levels of ALDH1A2, and further clarify the pathogenesis of KBD. Materials and methods: The genotype of ALDH1A2 rs3204689 was detected by PCR–RFLP in 103 KBD patients and 109 healthy controls in the whole blood. The mRNA level of ALDH1A2 was measured by qRT-PCR, and the protein expression was detected using IHC staining and Western blotting. The MSP-PCR was used to identify the ALDH1A2 methylation level. Results: There were significant differences in G/G, G/C, and C/C frequencies of ALDH1A2 rs3204689 between the KBD and control groups (χ2 = 7.113, P = 0.029); the minor allele G of ALDH1A2 was associated with the risk of KBD (χ2 = 5.984, P = 0.014). The mRNA and protein levels of ALDH1A2 were increased in the whole blood and cartilage of KBD patients compared with the controls (P = 0.049, P < 0.0001, P = 0.019). Meanwhile, a statistically significant difference was observed between G/G, G/C and C/C genotype on mRNA expression (P = 0.039). The methylation level of the ALDH1A2 gene promoter region showed no significant difference between the KBD and control groups (χ2 = 0.317, P = 0.573). Conclusion: Our case–control study indicates that the common variant rs3204689 near ALDH1A2 is associated with KBD in Chinese population. The risk allele G of rs3204689 is statistically linked to the high expression of ALDH1A2, which is up-regulated in the cartilage and whole blood of KBD patients. This study was designed to determine the methylation profile of four CpGs and the genotypes of two CpG-SNPs located in promoter region of DIO2 in patients with Kashin-Beck disease (KBD). We also analyzed the interaction between the CpGs methylations and CpG-SNPs. Whole blood specimens were collected from 16 KBD patients and 16 healthy subjects. Four CpGs and two CpG-SNPs in the promoter regions of DIO2 were detected using matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). The CpGs methylation levels were compared between samples from KBD patients and healthy subjects. The methylation levels were also analyzed in KBD patients with different CpG-SNP genotypes. The mRNA expression of DIO2 in whole blood of KBD patients was significnatly lower than in healthy controls (P "0.05). The methylation levels of DIO2 -1_CpG_3 in KBD patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls (P <0.05). The methylation levels of four CpGs were not significantly different between KBD patients and healthy controls. The methylation level of DIO2 -1_CpG_3 in the promoter region of DIO2 in KBD patients with GA/AA genotype was significantly higher than that of KBD patients with GG genotype (P <0.05). The effects of gene-by-environment (G×E) interactions on complex diseases are significant, especially the superimposed effects of multiple environmental factors. However, research on the multi-environments-gene interactions of anxiety, depression, and self-harm is still limited. This study included white individuals (N = 66,041–74,482) from the UK Biobank. We fitted all environmental factors to a single environmental score (ES), and the estimated ES was used to calculate the multiplicative interaction effects between ES and genome-wide SNPs. Heritability was stratified by minor allele frequency (MAF) and linkage disequilibrium (LD). Our research found 10 loci with significant interaction effects, such as rs114830993 (PRICKLE2, P = 2.30 × 10−8), rs151323364 (ASTN2, P = 2.71 × 10−10) and rs536631793 (SYN3, P = 4.09 × 10−8). In addition, we found that G×E heritability has a significant contribution to the depression of Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) scores (h2 G×E (female) = 6.1%, h2 G×E (male) = 8.7%). Our research supported the important influence of multi-environments-gene interactions on anxiety, depression, and self-harm and provided clues for the prevention and etiological research of them. Evidence of the associations of air pollution and musculoskeletal diseases is inconsistent. This study aimed to examine the associations between air pollutants and the risk of incident musculoskeletal diseases, such as degenerative joint diseases (n = 38,850) and inflammatory arthropathies (n = 20,108). An air pollution score was constructed to assess the combined effect of PM 2.5 , PM 2.5–10 , NO 2 , and NO X. Cox proportional hazard model was applied to assess the relationships between air pollutants and the incidence of each musculoskeletal disease. The air pollution scores exhibited the modest association with an increased risk of osteoporosis (HR = 1.006, 95% CI: 1.002–1.011). Among the individual air pollutants, PM 2.5 and PM 2.5–10 exhibited the most significant effect on elevated risk of musculoskeletal diseases, such as PM 2.5 on osteoporosis (HR = 1.064, 95% CI: 1.020–1.110), PM 2.5–10 on inflammatory arthropathies (HR = 1.059, 95% CI: 1.037–1.081). Females were found to have a higher risk of incident musculoskeletal diseases when exposed to air pollutants. Individuals with extreme BMI or lower socioeconomic status had a higher risk of developing musculoskeletal diseases. Rare variants are believed to play a substantial role in the genetic architecture of mental disorders, particularly in coding regions. However, limited evidence supports the impact of rare variants on anxiety. Using whole-exome sequencing data from 200,643 participants in the UK Biobank, we investigated the contribution of rare variants to anxiety. Firstly, we computed genetic risk score (GRS) of anxiety utilizing genotype data and summary data from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on anxiety disorder. Subsequently, we identified individuals within the lowest 50% GRS, a subgroup more likely to carry pathogenic rare variants. Within this subgroup, we classified individuals with the highest 10% 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale (GAD-7) score as cases (N = 1869), and those with the lowest 10% GAD-7 score were designated as controls (N = 1869). Finally, we conducted gene-based burden tests and single-variant association analyses to assess the relationship between rare variants and anxiety. Totally, 47,800 variants with MAF ≤0.01 were annotated as non-benign coding variants, consisting of 42,698 nonsynonymous SNVs, 489 nonframeshift substitution, 236 frameshift substitution, 617 stop-gain and 40 stop-loss variants. After variation aggregation, 5066 genes were included in gene-based association analysis. Totally, 11 candidate genes were detected in burden test, such as RNF123 (P Bonferroni adjusted = 3.40 × 10−6), MOAP1 (P Bonferroni adjusted = 4.35 × 10−4), CCDC110 (P Bonferroni adjusted = 5.83 × 10−4). Single-variant test detected 9 rare variants, such as rs35726701(RNF123)(P Bonferroni adjusted = 3.16 × 10−10) and rs16942615(CAMTA2) (P Bonferroni adjusted = 4.04 × 10−4). Notably, RNF123 , CCDC110 , DNAH2 , and CSKMT gene were identified in both tests. Background: Gut microbiota is closely associated with host health and disease occurrence. Host genetic factor plays an important role in shaping gut microbial communities. The specific mechanism of host-regulated gene expression affecting gut microbiota has not been elucidated yet. Results: TWAS detected multiple tissue-specific candidate genes for gut microbiota, such as FUT2 for genus Bifidobacterium in transverse colon (PPERM.ANL = 1.68 × 10–3) and SFTPD for an unclassified genus of Proteobacteria in transverse colon (PPERM.ANL = 5.69 × 10–3). Fine mapping replicated 3 candidate genes in TWAS, such as HELLS for Streptococcus (PIP = 0.685) in sigmoid colon, ANO7 for Erysipelotrichaceae (PIP = 0.449) in sigmoid colon. Functional analyses detected 94 significant GO terms and 11 pathways for various taxa in total, such as GO_NUCLEOSIDE_DIPHOSPHATASE_ACTIVITY for Butyrivibrio (FDR P = 1.30 × 10–4), KEGG_RENIN_ANGIOTENSIN_SYSTEM for Anaerostipes (FDR P = 3.16 × 10–2). Literature search results showed 12 genes prioritized by TWAS were associated with 12 diseases. For instance, SFTPD for an unclassified genus of Proteobacteria was related to atherosclerosis, and FUT2 for Bifidobacterium was associated with Crohn's disease. Conclusions: Our study results provided novel insights for understanding the genetic mechanism of gut microbiota, and attempted to provide clues for revealing the influence of genetic factors on gut microbiota for the occurrence and development of diseases. Abstract: Cerium-doped Bi2Ti2O7 (BCTO) thin films have been grown on P-type Si 〈100〉 substrates by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was carried out, which confirms that the crystallinity of the films increased with the enhancement of annealing temperature ranging from 550 to 750°C. The chemical stability of Bi2Ti2O7 was improved, since some Bi ions are substituted with the Ce ions. The AFM image of surface morphology of (Bi0.88Ce0.12)2Ti2O7 thin film was investigated. The section morphology was studied and the thickness was measured. The relaxation time and the leakage current behavior of (Bi0.88Ce0.12)2Ti2O7 thin films annealed at various temperatures were discussed. The current–voltage characteristics were explored, accordingly dielectric constant (DC) and dielectric loss (DL) were calculated at the frequency ranging from 1 to 2000kHz. At the characteristic frequency of 100kHz, DC and DL are calculated to be 214 and 0.06 respectively. Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is an endemic chronic osteochondropathy. The clinical manifestations and radiographic features of adult KBD were similar to those of osteoarthritis (OA). We first performed a genetic association scan of 32 OA susceptibility genes with KBD in 898 Han Chinese subjects. The MassARRAY genotyping system (Agena) was used for SNP genotyping. PLINK 1.9 was used for quality control and association testing. Using articular cartilage specimens from 7 adult KBD patients and 4 control subjects, lentivirus-mediated RNA interference (RNAi), qRT-PCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry were employed to explore the functional relevance of TP63 to KBD chondrocyte. SNP genotyping and association analysis identified TP63 (rs12107036, P = 0.005, OR = 0.71) and OARD1 (rs11280, P = 0.004, OR = 1.51) were significantly associated with KBD. It was also found that TP63 was significantly up-regulated in KBD articular cartilage in both mRNA and protein level compared with the controls (P < 0.05). TP63 suppression by lentivirus-mediated RNAi notably decreased the abundance of Caspase3 and SOX9 in chondrocytes. Most importantly, compared with the scrambled sequence (shControl) group, the protein level of ACAN was increased in the shTP63 group. The mRNA expression of chondrocyte marker genes (COL2A1 and ACAN) was not significantly changed after TP63 knockdown relative to shControl group. Our study identifies TP63 as a novel susceptibility gene for KBD, and demonstrates that the inhibition of TP63 suppresses chondrocyte apoptosis and partly facilitates chondrogenesis. Cumulative evidence shows that gut microbiome can influence brain function and behavior via the inflammatory processes. However, the role of interaction between gut dysbiosis and C-reactive protein (CRP) in the development of anxiety and depression remains to be elucidated. In this study, a total of 3321 independent single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) loci associated with gut microbiome were driven from genome-wide association study (GWAS). Using individual level genotype data from UK Biobank, we then calculated the polygenetic risk scoring (PRS) of 114 gut microbiome related traits. Moreover, regression analysis was conducted to evaluate the possible effect of interaction between gut microbiome and CRP on the risks of Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) (N = 113,693) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) (N = 114,219). At last, 11 candidate CRP × gut microbiome interaction with suggestive significance was detected for PHQ-9 score, such as F_Ruminococcaceae (β = − 0.009, P = 2.2 × 10–3), G_Akkermansia (β = − 0.008, P = 7.60 × 10–3), F_Acidaminococcaceae (β = 0.008, P = 1.22 × 10–2), G_Holdemanella (β = − 0.007, P = 1.39 × 10–2) and O_Lactobacillales (β = 0.006, P = 1.79× 10–2). 16 candidate CRP × gut microbiome interaction with suggestive significance was detected for GAD-7 score, such as O_Bacteroidales (β = 0.010, P = 4.00× 10–4), O_Selenomonadales (β = − 0.010, P = 1.20 × 10–3), O_Clostridiales (β = 0.009, P = 2.70 × 10–3) and G_Holdemanella (β = − 0.008, P = 4.20 × 10–3). Background: Cigarette smoke (CS) exposure increases corticosteroid insensitive asthma related to increased Th17 phenotype, and new treatment strategies are needed for CS-associated asthma. Histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2), found in the airway epithelium, is critical for ameliorating glucocorticoids insensitivity. We recently demonstrated the anti-inflammatory effects of CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (CpG-ODNs) on CS-exposure asthma. However, the effects of CpG-ODNs on HDAC2 expression and enzymatic activity remain unclear. This study aimed to assess whether CpG-ODNs protect against excessive Th17 immune responses in CS-induced asthma through HDAC2-dependent mechanisms and compared their effects with those of corticosteroids. Methods: The effects of CpG-ODNs alone and in combination with budesonide (BUD) on airway inflammation and Th2/Th17-related airway immune responses were determined using an in vivo model of CS-induced asthma and in cultured bronchial epithelial (HBE) cells administered ovalbumin (OVA) and/or cigarette smoke extract (CSE). HDAC2 and retinoid-related orphan nuclear receptor γt (RORγt) expression were also assessed in mouse lung specimens and HBE cells. Results: CpG-ODNs and BUD synergistically attenuated CS exposure asthmatic responses in vivo by modulating the influx of eosinophils and neutrophils, airway remodeling, Th2/Th17 associated cytokine and chemokine production, and airway hyperresponsiveness and blocking RORγt-mediated Th17 inflammation through induced HDAC2 expression/activity. In vitro, CpG-ODNs synergized with BUD to inhibit Th17 cytokine production in OVA- and CSE-challenged HBE cells while suppressing RORγt and increasing epithelial HDAC2 expression/activity. Conclusions: CpG-ODNs reversed CS-induced HDAC2 downregulation and enhanced the sensitivity of CS-exposed asthmatic mice and CSE-induced HBE cells to glucocorticoid treatment. This effect may be associated with HDAC2 restoration via RORγt/IL-17 pathway regulation, suggesting that CpG-ODNs are potential corticosteroid-sparing agents for use in CS-induced asthma with Th17-biased immune conditions. Kashin–Beck disease (KBD) is a complex endemic osteoarthropathy, which mainly occurs in the northeast to southwest China. Iodothyronine deiodinases 3 (DIO3) is one of the selenoproteins, which is closely related to bone metabolism and unclear to KBD. This study aims to investigate the role and associated mechanisms of methylation and expression of DIO3 with disease severity in patients with KBD. We performed a bioinformatics analysis first to identify the biological mechanisms involved in selenoproteins. The methylation status of the DIO3 gene and DIO3 gene expression, as well as DIO3‐related regulatory genes in patients with KBD, were analyzed. We found that 15 CpG sites of six selenoproteins were hypomethylated with 5‐azacytidine treatment. DIO3 hypermethylation was associated with an increased risk of KBD and may lead to downregulation of DIO3 gene expression as well as be an indicator of the severity of KBD, which may provide a new insight for gene–environment correlations and interactions in etiology and pathogenesis of KBD. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a multi-systemic inflammatory autoimmune disease involving peripheral joints, and the pathogenesis is not clear. Studies showed that DNA methylation and expression might also be involved in the pathogenesis of RA. This study integrated three expression profile datasets (GSE55235, GSE12021, and GSE55457) and one methylation profile dataset GSE111942 to elucidate the potential essential candidate genes and pathways in RA. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially methylation genes (DMGs) were identified by R programming software, using Limma package and ChAMP package, respectively. DAVID performed gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopaedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis of DEGs. Functional annotation and construction of a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network and the Molecular Complex Detection Algorithm (MCODE) were analysed by STRING and Cystoscope, respectively. Then the connection analysis of DEGs and DMGs was carried out, and further to analyse the relationship between methylation and gene expression, aiming to screen out the potential genes. In this study, 288 DEGs and 228 DMGs were identified, and the majority of DEGs were up-regulated. Enrichment analysis represented that DEGs mainly involved immune response and participated in the Cytokine–cytokine receptor interaction signal pathway. 282 nodes were identified from DEGs PPI network and MCODE, filtering the most significant 2 modules, 23 core node genes were identified and most of them are involved in the T cell receptor signalling pathway and chemokine-mediated signalling pathway. Cross-analysis revealed 4 genes [KNTC1 (cg 01277763), LRRC8D (cg 07600884), DHRS9 (cg 05961700), and UCP2 (cg 05205664)] that exhibited differential expression and methylation in RA simultaneously. A novel hybrid porous carbon has been synthesized by a facile method blending chitosan with gelatin in acetic acid solution. Gelatin changes the morphology of the chitosan-derived carbon materials and produces abundant micro- and mesopores with the help of KHCO3. More importantly, gelatin brings heteroatoms and pseudo-capacitance into hybrids to improve the capacitive performance as the nitrogen source. A unique tangerine pith-like morphology comes into being on the chitosan-derived hybrid porous carbon, and there are lots of interconnected micropores forming with high specific surface area of 927.17 m2 g−1. This particular morphology, high nitrogen content and specific surface area ensure the as-obtained carbon electrode wonderful capacitive performance with specific capacitance of 331 F g−1 in 6 mol L−1 KOH electrolyte at 1 A g−1, high retention of 73% and excellent capacity stability of 90% after 10000 cycles at 10 A g−1. Additionally, the chitosan-derived hybrid porous carbon shows remarkable energy density of 34 W h kg−1 with the power density of 900 W kg−1, superior to majority of the commercial devices. Previous genetic studies of anxiety and depression were mostly based on independent phenotypes. This study aims to investigate the shared and specific genetic structure between anxiety and depression. To identify the underlying factors of Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and their combined scale (joint scale), we employed exploratory factor analysis (EFA) using the eigenvalue of parallel analysis. Subsequently, we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) for these factors. In addition, we utilized LD Score Regression (LDSC) to determine the genetic correlations between the identified factors and four common mental disorders, three sleep phenotypes, and other traits that have been previously linked to anxiety and depression. The EFA uncovered two factors for the GAD-7 scale, namely nervousness and disturbance, two factors for the PHQ-9 scale, namely negative affect and sleep/appetite disturbance, and four factors for the joint scale, specifically nervousness, anhedonia, sleep/appetite disturbance, and fidget. We identified two genome-wide significant genomic loci, with overlap across GAD-7 factor 1 and joint scale factor 1: rs148579586 (P GAD-7 = 1.365 × 10−09, P Joint scale = 1.434 × 10–09) and rs201074060 (P GAD-7 = 3.672 × 10−09, P Joint scale = 3.824 × 10−09). Genetic correlations in factors ranged from 0.722 to 1.000 (all p < 1.786 × 10−03) with 27 of 28 correlations being significantly smaller than one. The genetic correlations with external phenotypes showed small variation across the eight factors. Unidimensional structures can provide more precise scores, which can aid in identifying the shared and specific genetic associations between anxiety and depression. Ferrimagnetic nano‐crystal glass‐ceramics and glass fibers were prepared based on the ferrosilicate glass system of SiO2–Fe2O3–B2O3–Al2O3 using large amount of pyrite slag (PS) and small quantities of pure chemicals. Two different fabrication methods were employed, eg, annealing and fiber‐drawing method, without performing any nucleation and crystallization heat treatments. The influence of PS content on the magnetite spontaneous crystallization is investigated by the X‐ray diffraction, FTIR, SEM, and TEM. The X‐ray diffraction patterns show the presence of nanometric magnetite crystals in glass matrix. The ferrimagnetic glass fibers with a diameter of about 20 μm were one‐step drawn. The magnetic hysteresis loops of the glass‐ceramic and glass fiber samples were analyzed using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Electromagnetic parameters of samples were also examined.
