Research has been conducted on the carbaporphyrins. The reaction of these compounds with silver(I) acetate in methanol-CH (sub)2 Cl (sub)2 has produced silver(III) complexes and the details are reported.

Research has been conducted on the calcium hypochlorite. The reaction of this compound with 2,4,6-trichlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichloro-m-cresol in methanol to produce dimer-type ketals and the ketals' conversion to quinones have been investigated and discussed.

Research has been conducted on the carbaprephenate and 4-epi-carbaprephenate dimethyl esters. The preparation of these esters is described and their reactivity in the presence and absence of different proteins with chorismate mutase activity has been investigated.

Research has been conducted on the alpha-lambda (super)3 -iodanyl ketones. The generation of these ketones from (Z)-(2-acetoxyvinyl)(phenyl)-lambda (super)3 -iodanes has been carried out and the results indicate that the generation method involves ester exchange of (Z)-2-acetoxyvinyl-lambda (super)3 -iodanes with methanol in triethylamine.

Research has been conducted on the methylenecyclopropane, bicyclopropylidene and spirocyclopropanated methylenecyclopropanes. The bromine additions to these compound carried out in methanol have been investigated and the results indicate the enhanced bromination rate with the increased number of spiroannelated three-membered rings.

Research has been conducted on the Diels-Alder reaction. The route to the spiro[2.4]hepta-4,6-diene-4-carboxylic acid esters and spiro[2.4]hepta-4,6-diene-4-methanol has been developed via the use of the hetero-Diels-Alder reaction and the utilization of these dienes for the rac-10-hydroxycamphor synthesis via carbo-Diels-Alder reaction has been carried out.

Research has been conducted on the Ala24/Asp61 (results in) Asp24/Asn61 substituted subunit c structure of Escherichia coli. The determination of this structure via the heteronuclear multidimensional NMR in a solvent mixture of water, methanol and monophasic chloroform has been carried out and described.

Research has been conducted on the ring-methoxylate diarylmethane and diarylmethanol radical cations. The reactivities and properties of these compounds generated in aqueous solution via pulse and gamma-radiolysis have been investigated and the results of the studies are reported.

The enantiopure forms of this compound and the corresponding perdeuterated isotopomers have been prepared and studied via (super)1 H NMR spectroscopy and the results demonstrate discrimination for some racemic mixtures.

Research has been conducted on the nitrocefin. The investigation of its methanolysis in anhydrous methanol has been carried out and the results suggest that this methanolysis has occurred in the active site of Zn (super)2+ (super)- beta-lactamases.

Research has been conducted on the chloroperoxidase which catalyzes cyclopropylmethanols' enantioselective oxidation. Results indicate that the enantioselectivity of cis-cyclopropanes' chloroperoxidase oxidation is higher than with the trans isomers.

Research has been conducted on the enantiomeric methylenecyclopropylcarbinols. The absolute configuration of these compounds has been obtained via the reaction of (R)- and (S)-epichlorohydrin with methylenetriphenylphosphorane and the details are presented.

Research has been conducted on the chlorine isotope effects. The effects have been measured for the base-promoted elimination reaction of 1-(2-chloro-2-propyl)indene in methanol and the results are discussed.

Research has been conducted on the photooxygenation reactions of indolizine derivatives in mixed benzene-methanol solvents. The results of these reactions which proceed via the excitation of their ground state charge transfer complex with the molecular oxygen are reported.

Research has been conducted on the dinuclear (phosphine)gold(I) complexes of the ambidentate 1,3,4-thiadiazoledithiolate ligand. The preparation of these complexes from the corresponding (phosphine)gold(I) chlorides and K (sub)2 (SSS) in methanol is reported.

Research has been conducted on the tetraallylic, tetraallenic, and tetrapropargylic stannanes. The reactions of these stannanes with aldehydes in methanol in producing unsaturated alcohols have been investigated and the results indicate that these reactions proceed with the allylic rearrangement for the tetra(2-butenyl)tin and tetra(1,2-butadienyl)-tin.

Research has been conducted on the K (sub)2 [Ru(bpy)(NO (sub)2) (sub)4]. The synthesis of this compound has been carried out via the thermal displacement of benzene by the nitrite ion in the methanol solution and the results are reported.

Research has been conducted on the the N (is equivalent to) A and A (is equivalent to) U transitions. The thermodynamics of these transitions has been characterized using methanol and guanidinium chloride (Gdn.HCl) separately and in combination and the results indicate that Gdn.HCl destabilizes partially folded A state.

Research has been conducted on the proteins involved in the methanol oxidation in the methylotrophic bacterium Methylobacterium extorquens. The modification of these proteins has been performed via the site-directed mutagenesis and the results indicate the production of mutations in cytochrome c (sub)L and methanol dehydrogenase.

The inhibitory effects of these cosolutes on the adenosine deamination by adenosine deaminase have been investigated and the results indicate that the inhibitory effects on sucrose, dioxane, methanol and ethanol are consistent with the thermodynamic interruption in terms of the molecular crowding effects.

Research has been conducted on the 6-acetoxycyclohexa-2,4-dienones. Results indicate that these compounds undergo a rapid reaction in methanol or water under mild conditions and produce acyclic ketoesters for 6-phenyl and 6-methyl substrates.

Research has been conducted on the horse liver alcohol dehydrogenase. The dependence of the steady-state kinetics on the temperature has been examined with this dehydrogenase via protonated and deuterated benzyl alcohol as a substrate in the methanol/water mixtures.
