Objective: to identify the knowledge of the nursing staff in dealing with bothropic accident victims in the emergency service. Methods: descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Developed in 2019, with professionals from the nursing staff of the adult emergency sector of a University Hospital. A semi-structured interview was used, transcribed and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics and content analysis. Results: 34 professionals from the nursing team participated in the study, being 82% female, with an average age of 37 years. The content analysis revealed three categories: knowledge about accidents caused by poisonous animals, academic and professional trajectory in the context of poisonous animals and management of the nursing team to the patient victim of bothropic accidents. Conclusão: the results demonstrate the knowledge and behaviors of the nursing staff in face of bothropic accidents and highlight the need to sensitize the nursing staff regarding the recognition of the snakebite accident, especially regarding the characteristics presented by the venomous animal and the clinical manifestations presented by the patient. Objective: describe the perception of nurses in primary care about prenatal care aimed at pregnant adolescents. Methods: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study of a qualitative, developed in the Basic Health Units of Guamá in Belém -- Pará, from May to April 2021. Results: Fifteen nurses participated, guided by a semi-structured form, with the data analyzed using the Laurence Bardin technique, resulting in six categories about the perception of prenatal care with adolescents. We conclude that nurses are aware of the positive impact that nursing care has on the conduct of pregnancy and the formation of autonomy for adolescents. Conclusion: The perception of the positive impact of nursing care on prenatal care for pregnant teenagers is perceived, however, it needs structural improvements in care, continued training of professionals and early capture of pregnant teenagers. Objective: to analyze nurses' perceptions about Home Blood Pressure Monitoring in the context of Primary Health Care. Methods: a descriptive, qualitative study, carried out in seven Family Health Care Units in Belém, Pará, in which 14 nurses, who worked in the HiperDia Program participated. Data collection was conducted from January to March 2017, through individual semi-structured interviews, using a script prepared by the researchers. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and submitted to content analysis technical procedures. Results: four thematic categories emerged, addressing knowledge about Home Blood Pressure Monitoring, the proceedings, and strategies in the management of people with hypertension, the importance of monitoring, the resources and methods for diagnosing the disease, and the difficulties in carrying out this monitoring. Conclusion: the nurses acknowledged the relevance of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring in the actions carried out by their teams, highlighting the use of this method in preventing complications of hypertension. Objective: to describe the process of creating and validating an instrument for detecting the risk of early weaning. Methods: methodological study developed after approval by the Research Ethics Committee for the development of a checklist-type instrument composed of 8 blocks, based on literature review and situational diagnosis of a maternity hospital in Maranhão. The validation occurred according to the Delphi technique, through the evaluation of 9 judges in the first stage and 8 in the second stage. The Content Validity Index for each item and the overall Content Validity Coefficient were considered with minimum values ≥ 0.80, as well as a minimum agreement of 80% for validation. Results: the blocks "Breast milk substitutes" and "Professional guidelines" achieved maximum validation in the first stage. After the adjustments suggested by the judges, validation of the checklist was obtained with a Coefficient of Content Validity value = 0.96 in the overall assessment of the second stage. Conclusion: the instrument was considered valid and will contribute to the improvement of the approach to breastfeeding, directing attention and identifying care needs to detect the risk of early weaning. Objective: To assess the knowledge of nursing professionals working in clinical wards about palliative care (PC). Methods: Descriptive, transversal, quantitative study. The sample consisted of 42 nursing professionals from three clinical wards of a university hospital in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Knowledge about PC was established as an outcome variable, assessed based on the number of correct answers on the subject. The outcome variable was crossed with the explanatory ones using the X2 test, considering p <0.05. Results: The level of knowledge about PC among nursing professionals was considered partially satisfactory. As for the professionals' self-perception, it was observed that the majority had little knowledge (78.6%). There was no statistically significant difference between professional classes (p=0.63), between training (p=0.66), time since training (p=0.09), length of service in the sector (p=0.537), training in palliative care (p=0.065) with the number of correct answers. There was a statistically significant difference between professionals who rated their knowledge of palliative care as sufficient and those who had never heard of it (p = 0.031). Objective: To discuss complications and preventive measures, as well as the removal conditions associated with the use of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters, in the intra-hospital context from the perspective of the nursing team's knowledge. Methods: Exploratory-descriptive investigation, mixed-method research, carried out in a private hospital (MG-Brazil), from March to May/2021, with 114 nursing professionals, using Google Forms. The following data were collected: Professional's characterization, knowledge's profile and evaluation of complications, preventive measures and removal conditions associated with the use of the catheter. Results: The professional profile reveals signs of how nursing job is precarious and the participants' knowledge demonstrates access to the main complications of using the device, prevention measures, as well as the conditions that justify its removal. Conclusion: There is evidence of the needed educational interventions, aiming an improvement of the safe practice to the professional and to the patient, care quality and excellence of care in the health institution. Objective: To analyze events in the managerial and care work process, such as interferences in the nursing workload in the Intensive Care Unit. Methods: Epidemiological, cross-sectional, historical series study on workload analysis. Measurements of the Nursing Activities Score were carried out between 2007 and 2014. The events were divided into managerial and assistance actions. Results: The Nursing Activities Score was applied 35262 times to 4731 patients. Among management interventions, the workload was greater under the Directors' Collegiate Resolution no. 26 of the National Health Surveillance Agency concomitant to the increase in the proportion of patients per nurse (p<0.001), in the implantation of assistance sites (p<0.001) and in the expansion of the unit (p<0.001). Among assistance interventions, there was an increase in the workload in the period of technological incorporation (p<0.001), accreditation of liver transplantation (p<0.001) and implantation of an infection control bundle (p<0.001). Conclusion: Interventions that aimed to improve the quality of care are factors that interfere with the nursing workload in the ICU, whereas it has increased over the years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To describe the experience of undergraduate Nursing students at the Federal University of Alagoas during the implementation of the Nursing Process to an individual affected by Fournier's Syndrome. Methods: Descriptive study, of the experience report type, based on the experience of Nursing students, during the curricular activities of the Supervised Internship in an Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital in Alagoas. The experience occurred throughout the month of October, 2019. The implementation of the Nursing Process was guided according to the Theory of Basic Human Needs, proposed by Wanda Aguiar Horta. Results: The Nursing Process was implemented, based on its six phases, which identified the individual's problems and enabled the survey of the necessary interventions to carry out care, as the theory suggests. The implementation of this scientific tool, in a dynamic and interrelated way, provided safer and more humanized hospital care to the individual. Conclusion: The fulfillment of the six phases of the Nursing Process allowed the Nursing students to undergo the hospital experience in an enriching way, because it contributed not only to the satisfactory evolution of the assisted patient, but also to the strengthening of the teamwork and of Nursing as an applied science. Objective: To identify the approaches taken on the Systematization of Nursing Care in publications in the journal de Enfermagem em Foco. Methods: This is a documental research, descriptive of quanti-qualitative nature, carried out in the official magazine of Cofen. Results: Of the 754 articles published since 2010 by the journal under analysis, 37 addressed the topic in various aspects, with the years of greatest production being 2017, 2019 and 2020. Only one article was produced in Mexico and the others in Brazil. The regions with the highest production were: Southeast, Northeast and South. Most research design was descriptive studies. Conclusion: The publications point to the relevance of the Systematization of Nursing Care in the qualification, organization and effectiveness of nursing care, however there are still barriers to be overcome, so that it can strengthen the dimensioning of nursing staff, conceptual and methodological clarity on Systematization Nursing Care and Nursing Process, and the qualification of electronic/manual records in patients' medical records. Objective: To describe the assessment of people deprived of liberty on the nursing care received in the hospital environment. Methods: Qualitative research carried out in medical and surgical clinic units of three public hospitals, in capitals of the Northeast region of Brazil, reference in urgent and emergency care. From the technical application of exhaustion, the sample consisted of 17 male custodians in hospital. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were used. Data were submitted to the content analysis methodology proposed by Bardin. Results: Three categories of analysis emerged: Perception of care, Safety protocol and people deprived of liberty rights. The subjects reported dissatisfaction with the guarantee of their rights, specifically when referring to authorization for visits; describe the performance of care with distinction and evident prejudices and recognize that the use of handcuffs and the presence of the criminal policeman generate an atmosphere of fear among professionals and other patients in the hospital wing. Conclusion: The assessment of hospital care practice is positive, although the need to reflect on the (re)organization of the work process is evident, after all, the quality of nursing care does not refer exclusively to technical skills. Objective: To know the aspects of the structure and process of emergency care in family health units. Methods: Descriptive study, of qualitative nature, carried out in a municipality in the interior of Bahia, through interviews with 08 nurses. The data were analyzed by the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. Results: It was possible to know the resources perceived as necessary, as well as those available for the care of acute conditions in the service, in addition to the process in the care of patients. Conclusion: The results showed that the units have insufficient resources for emergency care, revealing the need to strengthen care for acute complaints sensitive to primary care, mainly through the improvement in the provision of material resources and professional qualification. Objective: To identify nursing interventions and analyze the survival of pediatric patients who used extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in the post-op period of cardiac surgery. Methods: This is a prospective historical observational study with a quantitative approach. Data on the main nursing interventions were captured in the medical records during the immediate postoperative period. Subsequently, telephone contact was made to analyze the survival of children who used extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery. Results: There was a predominance of male gender 68.8%, infants 66.7%, white ethnicity 83.3%. We found 82 nursing procedures. In the patients who had hospital discharge (33.3%), it was performed for follow-up. Conclusion: The main nursing interventions for pediatric patients after cardiac surgery using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation indicated in this study were: multiparametric monitoring, care for prevention and / or control of bleeding, change of decubitus position, bandage change and observation of the patient's clinical change. Objective: To assess the risk of developing pressure injuries in patients admitted to inpatient units of a hospital in Zona da Mata Mineira. Methods: Cross-sectional and descriptive research, with a quantitative approach composed of 322 patients. The interviews were conducted through a semi-structured script, organized and analyzed using the Microsoft Excel 2007 program. Results: There was a predominance of females with 173 (53.7%) patients. Among the interviewees, 200 (62.1%) were less than 60 years old and the main hospitalized unit evaluated was the medical clinic with 209 (64.9%) cases. Through the application of the Braden scale, 222 (68.9%) presented no risk for the development of pressure injury and 40 (12.4%) with low risk. However, 23 (7.1%) of the patients were at high risk and 37 (11.5%) were at moderate risk. Conclusion: Weaknesses were observed in the risk assessment of patients, as well as in the prevention of these diseases. In addition, it was possible to highlight the main contributing factors for hospitalized patients to develop pressure injuries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To understand the perception of pediatric nursing faculties about the use of therapeutic play. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted through the application of semi-structured interviews. Data were collected through an online form with 12 pediatric nursing faculties from higher education institutions in the state of Pará, Brazil. Data analysis was performed using Bardin's content analysis technique and the IRAMUTEQ software. Results: 33.3% of the faculties interviewed stated that they did not include therapeutic play in their syllabus. However, they emphasized the importance of addressing the topic in undergraduate courses. Faculties also pointed out strategies for teaching therapeutic play, the importance of using it in pediatric care, and the establishment of a child-professional bond. Conclusion: The research allowed us to define the situation of therapeutic play teaching by pediatric nursing faculties, highlighting its advantages and difficulties in the approach during the undergraduate course. Objective: To understand the meaning of being-with leprosy reactions. Methods: Study based on Martin Heidegger's hermeneutical phenomenological method, conducted from 25 individual interviews with patients undergoing treatment for leprosy reactions, in a specialized health unit located in the state of Pará, Brazil. Results: Two thematic units were organized: "Signifying leprosy reactions" and "Living with leprosy reactions". For the participants, living with leprosy reactions means pain, shame, hopelessness, fear, uncertainty and concerns that profoundly transform daily life. The sense of being-with leprosy reactions is almost always revealed in the impersonality, ambiguity, curiosity and publicity of life, in which the being-there is seen from other beings and not from oneself. Conclusion: This study provides important knowledge for nursing care to people living with leprosy reactions, as understanding meanings and senses is important to boost the practice of sensitive, empathic and concerned with dialogue and with nursing care. the needs of the being-there in the world, where the cure is revealed in the care practices with-the-other and not for the-other. Objective: Analyze the factors that interfere with the quality of care given by primary healthcare nurses to the elderly domiciled. Methods: Qualitative study conducted with eleven nurses from basic health units in the municipality of Boa Vista, Roraima. The strategy adopted for data collect was through a semi-structured interview via the digital platform. Bardin's content analysis technique was applied to the findings. Results: The data records units were interpreted into four areas: bonding between the nurses and patients; family involvement and distance in the provision of care offered by nurses; and elderly people who live alone in the home. Conclusion: The intervening factors involved in the nurses' care for the elderly domiciled were: bonding; mediated by relationships of trust, closeness and exchange of experiences; performance, collaboration, attention, adherence, not understanding health guidelines, denial of care offered, distance, lack of support from family members, and elderly people who live alone. Objective: To analyze the challenges and suggestions in the care of clinical patients with psychiatric symptoms in the perception of nurses in clinical inpatient units of a general hospital. Methods: Qualitative, exploratory-descriptive study. Data collection took place from August to September 2019, through semi-structured interviews with 13 nurses. Results: The interviewees pointed out as challenges for the execution of the care: the unpreparedness of the care due to the low workload of the undergraduate courses and the difficulty of access to psychiatric consultancy. Regarding the suggestions, nurses understand the need to qualify care through training, knowledge of the hospital's psychiatric inpatient unit and better staffing. Conclusion: It is essential that reflections are raised regarding assistance to these people in other areas, contributing to the inclusion of subjectivity in comprehensive care in the field of mental health. Objective: To describe the caring realized by the nurse of the primary health care to the elderly in a residential space. Methods: Qualitative study fulfilled with eleven nurses of Boa Vista's primary health units. The adopted strategy for data collection was a semi-structured interview using the Zoom Platform. The data collected was analyzed and it was organized into categories. Results: The register units were decoded in two dimensions: domestic nursery evaluation inducing preventive orientation of accidents on elderly and care actions by the nurse on the elderly's body at his residence. Conclusion: In this article were produced preventive orientations about domestic cleaning, the arrangement of objects and people inside the house aiming the decreasing of falls. The caretaking procedures involved the verification of vital parameters, medication orientation, skincare, personal hygiene, bandage realization, passing and changing catheter on domestic situations elderly. Objective: To identify the prevalence and risks for the development of pressure ulcer in hospitalized elderly, in addition to verifying the association with clinical causes and functional capacity. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study with quantitative analysis developed in a university hospital in Brasília, from August 2018 to February 2020, with 125 elderly people admitted to the medical clinic unit. Braden and Katz instruments were used. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The prevalence of Pressure injury was 16.8%. From the chi-square, there was evidence that the greater the degree of dependence of the elderly, the greater the likelihood that the elderly will develop Pressure injury. It is also pointed out that the elderly classified as strongly dependent had a higher prevalence of serious injuries. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the prevalence of Pressure injury was close to the average of studies with elderly people in the same conditions. In terms of functional capacity conditions, it was observed that the greater the degree of dependence on the elderly, the greater the likelihood that he would develop a skin lesion. Objective: To know the challenges faced by nursing technicians in the care of obese patients in inpatient units. Methods: Descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach, guided by the tool Equater - Consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research, conducted with 28 nursing technicians from public hospitals in the south of the country. Results: Three categories emerged: The physical overload of the nursing technician and patient safety; cooperation between the nursing team to provide care; the (un) available technologies for care. Conclusion: Caring for an obese patient is challenging. The number of professionals in the nursing team and the lack of equipment can influence the work process, and consequently compromise the safety of obese patients. Objective: To learn the social representations of high-risk pregnant women about pregnancy, high-risk pregnancy and hospitalization during pregnancy. Methods: A descriptive, exploratory study guided by the procedural approach of the Theory of Social Representations. Conducted with 35 high-risk pregnant women hospitalized in two public reference maternity hospitals in Ceará between July and September 2016. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using the ALCESTE software. Results: The pregnant women elaborate different representations about pregnancy and high-risk pregnancy, the first is considered ideal and the second a problem, confronting them between the desired situation versus the real situation. Pregnancy was represented in the historically female function: reproduction and motherhood and high-risk pregnancy as a time of difficulty and insecurity. Hospitalization symbolized the confirmation of risk, surveillance, treatment and protection of maternal and fetal health. Conclusion: Pregnancy is a social phenomenon, mobilizing affections and represented by pregnant women, even in the condition of high risk and hospitalization, as a special experience of the female universe, which inspires care, attention, resilience and overcoming. Objective: To investigate the prevalence and factors associated with frailty in the elderly in outpatient care. Methods: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, involving 100 elderly people. For this, a structured instrument was used, containing questions related to sociodemographic and clinical characteristics; and the Edmonton Fragility Scale (EFS). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, with univariate analysis for all variables and Chi-square and Student's t tests. Results: Among the elderly, 34% had mild frailty and 27% were apparently vulnerable. The relationship between frailty, polypharmacy, advanced age and low education was evidenced. Objective: To describe preventive measures and barriers to reducing occupational exposure to infections by tuberculosis and human immunodeficiency virus in prison health units, from the perspective of nursing professionals. Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out in five prison units in the state of Pará, through semi-structured interviews with 15 nursing professionals. The data were analyzed using the content analysis technique proposed by Bardin. Results: The themes identified were preventive measures related to material resources, health education and care for people deprived of their liberty and barriers to reducing occupational exposure to tuberculosis and the human immunodeficiency virus in the prison environment. Conclusion: From the perspective of nursing professionals, the prevention of occupational infections by tuberculosis and the human immunodeficiency virus runs through the need for structural and organizational improvements to their working conditions, which would positively influence the provision of qualified and resolving assistance to all the prison community. Objective: To report the experience of the role of obstetric nurses in the process of implementation of care during delivery and birth, especially performed in water, in an Intra-hospital Normal Birth Center in a public maternity hospital in the state of Amazonas, Brazil, in the period of October 2017 to December 2020. Methods: Descriptive study, of the experience report type, carried out from the role of obstetric nurses in the process of implementation of care during delivery and birth performed in water. Results: The Intra-hospital Normal Birth Center now has 4 pre-delivery, delivery and post-delivery rooms, 2 of which have bathtubs for water birth and one of these is characterized as multicultural. Indicators of good practices in childbirth care showed better results gradually with the inclusion of the provision of assistance in water birth. Conclusion: This experience brought elements to advances in obstetric nursing practice in the state of Amazonas, and the breaking of old paradigms regarding the performance of these professionals, incorporating the category in attachment, reception, hospitalization, delivery and birth care and discharge safe from the mother and baby binomial, becoming a fundamental part for the improvement of care in respectful care for women and their families. Objective: To report the experience of implementing the Care Factory Extension Program as a social technology for building health care models. Methods: This is a descriptive study of the experience report type. Results: As Social Technology, Care Factory Extension Program provides knowledge to reconvert our thought of attention to social inclusion and a helping relationship. Conclusion: The implementation of Care Factory Extension Program as a social technology requires from its mentors creative and motivational skills, knowledge, and availability to ensure Nursing autonomy. Objective: To report the professional experience of nurses in the implementation of matrix support in nursing care for people with wounds in Primary Health Care. Methods: Experience report on the implementation of Matrix Support as a model of care for people with wounds in the city of Florianópolis - between June 2019 to June 2020. Results: The implementation brought as a result, in addition to the expansion of access to health services and strengthening of the bond between the ESF and the person with the wound and their families, it provided adequate assessment and shared care, the clinical record of consultations, data monitoring and due billing of dressings performed. Conclusión: this service model brought greater resoluteness in Primary Health Care from the qualification of the service, and better management of health information. Objective: To identify the conditioning factors, facilitators and inhibitors in the transition of family members to the role of family caregivers of a dependent elderly person at home and the nursing interventions necessary for a healthy transition. Methods: It is an integrative literature review carried out in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System onLine (MEDLINE) databases via PubMed, Latin American and Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) in January and February 2020. Results: After the evaluation, 23 articles were selected because they answered the research question and 374 were excluded. The research results were organized into three categories: "conditions that inhibit the healthy transition when becoming a caregiver for a dependent elderly", "conditions that facilitate the healthy transition when becoming a caregiver for a dependent elderly" and; "Therapeutic nursing interventions for a healthy transition". Conclusion: The transition process of a family member to the role of family caregiver for a dependent elderly person is extremely complex. It requires structured support, so that the period of instability does not last. With therapeutic nursing interventions, it is possible for the family member to achieve mastery of the transition and stability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To analyze the convergence between the risk of falls and dependence for the nursing care of hospitalized patients, using the Morse Fall Scale - Brazilian version and the Patient Classification System. Methods: Methodological study, with a cohort design and developed in two inpatient units of a university hospital in Porto Alegre / RS. The sample totaled 510 patients who were followed up during hospitalization, from September to December 2018. The variables collected were demographic (age and sex), fall risk by the Morse Fall Scale -- versão brasileira, degree of dependency for nursing care by the Sistema de Classificação de Pacientes and the occurrence of falls. Data analysis performed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: There was a fall rate of 2.3%. A statistically significant association was identified between high risk and the occurrence of falls. Patients classified as Intermediate, Semi-Intensive and Intensive Care were associated with the High Risk for falls, and patients classified in the Minimum Care category were associated with the Low Risk of falls according to the Morse Fall Scale - Brazilian version. Conclusion: Patients with greater dependence on nursing care also have a higher risk of falls during hospitalization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To describe knowledge and practices performed by people with venous ulcers in the care of injuries. Methods: A descriptive study with a qualitative approach, carried out with eleven patients undergoing treatment of venous ulcers in an Outpatient Stomatherapy Service in Brasília, Federal District. Data collection was carried out between April and May 2019 through semi-structured interviews, which were recorded and later transcribed in full. The data were submitted to thematic content analysis. Results: Most were female and over sixty years old. Three categories emerged from the content analysis of the interviews: general knowledge and practices in ulcer self-care; myths and beliefs that permeate self-care; and difficulties experienced during ulcer care. Conclusion: This study unveiled the knowledge, practices and also beliefs that patients with venous ulcers have about vascular disease and the wound healing process, which provide better guidance in the planning and development of educational health actions aimed at the needs of outpatient users in order to enhance self-care. Objective: To identify in the scientific literature how nursing theories have been used in nursing care for hypertensives. Methods: Integrative review with database searches: VHL, SCOPUS, CINAHL, LILACS, PubMed and Web of Science. 32 articles were found of which four were selected for the final sample. Results: The nursing theories evidenced in the publications were: Orem's Self-Care Deficit Theory, used as a basis for identifying self-care deficits and related factors in hypertensive patients, as well as for strengthening self-efficacy and improving the quality of life of patients with hypertension; Sister Callista Roy's Theory of Adaptation, used as a means of care for people with hypertension and family members in adapting to the process of self-care and coping with hypertension; and Theory "Human Becoming" by Rosemarie Rizzo Parse, from which the role of the person with hypertension in their treatment process should be encouraged by the nurse, who is the mediator of the self-care process. Conclusion: The application of theories was more focused on aspects that interfered with the self-care of hypertensive patients, a context in which nurses perform care aimed at promoting the subjects' autonomy and independence. Objective: To know the nurse's routine in the hemodialysis sector of a public hospital in Northeast Brazil. Methods: Field study of exploratory and descriptive nature, qualitative approach. Developed in the hemodialysis sector of a public hospital located in Campina Grande, Paraíba, with all nurses working in the sector. Data collection took place in September 2017, through semi-structured interviews, and analyzed following the theory proposed by Bardin. Results: Nurses were interviewed with an average age of 41 years, predominantly female and with an average time of eight years working in the hemodialysis sector. The following categories emerged from the content analysis: Nursing assignments in the hemodialysis sector; Nursing management in the hemodialysis service; Systematization of nursing care in the hemodialysis service; Adversities and complications found in the hemodialysis sector; and Actions by the nursing team to minimize risks and possible complications. Conclusão: The multiplicity of duties and activities in the routine of nurses in the hemodialysis sector was evident in our study, which showed the essential role and role of nurses within such a specific and highly complex sector. Objective: To analyze publications on nurses' personal and professional values and their relationship with nursing education and clinical practice. Methods: Integrative review of articles indexed in the MEDLINE, LILACS and CINAHL databases published between 2014 and 2019, which addressed personal and professional values in nursing, being analyzed by descriptive statistics of the frequencies and analysis of thematic content of Bardin. Results: Thirteen articles were selected, in Portugueses, Spanish and English, in eight different journals. The countries that had institutions affiliated to the studies were Turkey, Canada, Spain, Colombia, United States, Brazil and Iran. The places where the studies were developed were in higher education institutions, hospitals and basic health units. The most used methodology was quantitative. The constituted thematic categories were: instruments for evaluating nursing values, description of nursing values and associated factors, intergenerational differences and evolution of values. Conclusion: It was concluded that the search for knowledge about nursing values is universal, but little addressed in the Brazilian context. Human dignity was the most represented value in studies. Objective: To discuss about Clinical Care and Clinical Nursing Care, in this path, proposing a definition for these concepts. Methods: It is a theoretical study, reflective, anchored in the conception of care and clinic by several authors from different areas of knowledge (Philosophy, Sociology, Medicine and Nursing), with a view to allowing the construction of a theoretical basis capable of supporting the proposed discussions and definitions. Results: Clinical Care and Clinical Nursing Care have been increasingly used by professionals and researchers. However, these concepts are still poorly defined. Hegemonically, the clinic has been represented by the research and therapeutic activities of the repercussions of the disease on the body, marked by signs and symptoms. However, in this sense, focusing on the disease, the clinic contributes little to the resolution of health problems. Objective: To analyze the operationalization of good practices in bloodstream infection control and prevention during the preparation and administration of drugs in peripheral venous catheters, performed by the nursing team. Methods: A descriptive-exploratory study, with a quantitative approach, in which 371 administrations of intravenous drugs were observed, between November 2018 and January 2019, in a large hospital in city located in the state of São Paulo. Data were collected in four different stages and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: Weaknesses were identified in the distribution of inputs and in the adoption of infection prevention and control measures, highlighting the low adherence to flushing, hand hygiene and the cleaning and disinfection of surfaces and objects. Objective: To analyze the nursing diagnosis focusing on the problem and risks documented in clinical practice by nurses caring of patients in Intensive Care Unit. Methods: Quantitative, transversal, documentary and descriptive study. 122 medical records were selected in the medical file sector, by simple random sampling, with a significance level of 99%, over a one-year time frame, 2016 to 2017. Medical records with a history and diagnosis filled out by nurses from the Intensive Care Unit or by nursing students signed by the responsible nurse were chosen in the first 24 hours after the patients' admission. Medical records with erasures and / or absence of pages in their chronological sequence were excluded. Results: 809 titles of nursing diagnosis were identified, of these 375 (46.3%) with a focus on risks and 434 (53.7%) with a focus on the problem. The diagnosis stood out with the highest percentages: unbalanced nutrition, less than body needs (98.4%); deficit in self-care (96.7%); risk of infection (92.6%); impaired gas exchange (71.3%); risk of impaired skin integrity (54.9%). Conclusions: The identification of nursing diagnosis in the Intensive Care Unit enables nurses to recognize the demands of everyday care, for planning and decision making focused, resolutive and effective in intensive care. Objective: To evaluate fall prevention strategies prescribed and performed for hospitalized older adults. Methods: This was a quantitative, cross-sectional study conducted in a tertiary public hospital between 2015 and 2016. Results: The sample consisted of 153 older adults, 101 (66.0%) of whom were women. Risk of falling was found in 60.9% (92), and women had a higher chance of falling (p=0.0016). Visual signaling of fall risk on the bed was not prescribed for 75.0% (69) of the elderly patients at risk, however, this precaution was taken for 92.4% (85) of those patients. Maintaining bed rails elevated was prescribed for 78.3% (72) of the elderly patients at risk of falling (p=0.006). This precaution was taken for 70.7% (65) of the patients at risk and 54.2% (32) of those not at risk of falling. Objective: To know the perception of nursing professionals about the use of therapeutic plays in children's hospitalization. Methods: This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach carried out with 18 nursing professionals who work in a pediatric unit of a teaching hospital in southern Brazil. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, based on a predefined script that combines open and closed questions, whose analysis was thematic. Results: Two categories were elaborated: Knowledge about therapeutic play; Use of distraction strategies or therapeutic play in child care. Most participants showed to have a simplified understanding about the therapeutic play, ignoring its applicability and functions, associating it with recreation and attributing its practice to occupational therapy professionals, not using it in their daily work. However, they use distraction techniques to provide greater comfort to the child during a hospitalization. Conclusion: It is believed that the development of standard operating produces regarding the use of therapeutic plays in the care of hospitalized children can contribute to minimizing the negative effects of children's hospitalization. Objective: To analyze the ethical nursing processes judged by the Regional Nursing Council of the Federal District involving the elderly. Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study of retrospective document analysis. Eighteen ethical processes were analyzed as to who the whistleblowers were, the profile of the respondent, the characterization of the complaints, the age of the victim, the locations and types of health institution with the highest number of ethical occurrences, the main articles violated in the code of ethics and a the penalties applied in the final decision of the board. Results: Ethical infractions were most frequently committed by nursing technicians, with few years of enrollment, due to negligence against elderly people aged 60 to 70 in the care provided at home. Conclusions: It is believed that the study can instigate professionals to think about their professional practice and about the possible ethical and legal implications resulting from assistance to the elderly, contributing to make nursing practice more cautious and ethically responsible considering the needs of care that arise in the current population aging scenario. Objective: To raise the challenges that nursing encounters to perform assistance to patients in Palliative Care, based on scientific production disseminated in online journals. Methods: Integrative literature review, with data collection in the month of May 2018, in the databases Database in Nursing, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences and Scientific Electronic Library Online. Results: 35 publications were identified, whose textual analysis allowed the construction of four thematic approaches: Education in nursing; Nursing assistance / care; Implementation of guidelines. Objective: To reflect on the resignification of nursing care, based on the pillars ontological, epistemological and methodological. Methods: This is a reflective theoretical essay, which turns to knowledge about nursing care from an integral perspective, from the different dimensions that constitute it. Objective: To reveal the meanings and senses of nursing care, from the perspective of women who experience breast cancer in a situation of bone metastasis. Methods: Qualitative study based on Martin Heidegger's hermeneutic phenomenology. Twenty-four phenomenological interviews were carried out with women undergoing cancer treatment, in a public reference hospital located in the north of the country. The interviews took place in 2017 with the support of a semi-structured script. The testimonies were transcribed and analyzed in two moments: median comprehension and interpretation. Results: Women mean nursing care based on daily manifestations of zeal, affection, attention, concern, patience and professional competence. In turn, the meaning of nursing care for women is revealed in the impersonality and in the existence of the other, when women demonstrate a need to feel welcomed and recognized in their humanity. Conclusión: The results of the study demonstrate similarities in women's life experiences and suggest the need for reflections and actions to encourage nursing practices aimed at being-in-the-world and the different possibilities of care, given their different meanings and senses. Objective: To evaluate self care activities with arteriovenous fistula in chronic renal patients. Methodology: A descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, conducted with 60 patients in a dialysis unit in Northeast Brazil, from September to October 2018. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee (Opinion nº 233.953/13). Results: The most frequent cares were: not allowing blood pressure verification (71.7%) and medication administration and blood collection in the fistula limb (71.6%), perform fistula limb hygiene with water and antiseptic soap (68.4%) and avoid carrying weight (68.3%). The least reported cares were: putting warm compress on the day before hemodialysis (30.0%) and do pressure exercise with rubber ball (15%). Conclusion: The knowledge of chronic renal patients regarding self care activities with arteriovenous fistula was insufficient, and the most and least known care among patients was identified. Objectives: to characterize the physical restriction of patients in intensive care units of a general hospital. Method: quantitative, descriptive research conducted in intensive care units of a general hospital in 2019. The researchers observed eighty episodes of physical restriction in 33 patients. A structured instrument was used to collect the data, which were analyzed using simple statistics. Results: all mechanical restrictions were applied to the upper limbs with the use of bracelets, of which 77.5% were made of crepe bandages with surgical compresses; 86.3% of the cases had partial movement restriction. Of the total restrictions, 96.2% occurred in patients with a nasogastric/enteral tube, 67.5% in patients on mechanical ventilation; 53.9% of the cases the patients were under sedation; 33.3% had psychomotor agitation. There were only 5.2% of nurses' records and 42.5% of nursing technicians in the patient's health charts, however there was no medical or nursing prescription for the procedure. Conclusions: it was identified the lack of defined criteria for the use of the' physical restrictions. The lack of a nursing or medical prescription and low quality and quantity of records on the procedure interfered with the understanding of the justification for the use of physical restriction. Objective: To verify the level of comfort in the safety dimension of family members of patients admitted to beds in the Intensive Care Unit. Method: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study, carried out from June to September 2019, with 40 family members of patients admitted to beds in the Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in southern Brazil. The data were collected using the Comfort Scale for Family Members of People in Critical Health and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. Results: Of the interviewed family members, most were female, aged 40 to 59 years old, first-degree relatives, with high school education. The general average of the comfort level in relation to the safety dimension was 4.36 for the Intensive Care Unit I and 4.31 for the Intensive Care Unit II, resulting in medium comfort. Conclusion: The level of comfort in the safety dimension was shown to be medium, showing positive reflexes of family inclusion in the hospital context related to welcoming, interaction with the health team and reliability in the care provided. Objective: Comprehend the perspective of a nursing team in a natural birth center about the assistance on humanized childbirth. Method: this is a descriptive, qualitative research carried out with nursing professionals of a natural birth center, in a municipality in the interior of Ceará. The data were analyzed according to the thematic categorical analysis, using IRAMUTEQ software in data processing. Results: The study participants recognize the relevance of their work and identify the nursing class as the protagonist in humanized care. This present the perception of humanized birth related to women's autonomy, also, they understand that the humanization process begins when the woman enters the birth center. Methodology: Descriptive study, qualitative approach, experience report carried out at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz during the months of March and April 2020. Experience Description: We initially established a multidisciplinary committee to define guidelines of actions to take care of the patients. The main guidelines were related to the care structure and protocols. Another action was training the nursing team. Results: Implementation of a new flow for patient care in the Emergency Room; Expansion of beds for patient care in inpatient and Intensive Care Units; Hiring and training nursing team professionals in a reduced time; optimization of the nursing team with redirection of professionals according to the occupancy rate of the units; strengthening of multidisciplinary performance. Final considerations: The experience obtained in this experience showed us that teamwork and the establishment of a bond of trust between professionals is a crucial point for the successful implementation of relevant changes and for a safe and quality care. Objective: To know the perceptions of nurses about the care of cancer patients in Primary Health Care. Method: Descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, carried out between March and April 2019, in ten Primary Health Care Units, in the municipality of Aracati, Ceará, Brazil. The research subjects were 10 nurses, and a semi-structured interview was conducted, using a form. Results: From the speeches, three categories emerged: Nurses' perceptions about cancer and care for cancer patients; Actions carried out in primary care in the care of cancer patients; Difficulties in cancer care, in primary care. Conclusion: Participating nurses viewed cancer as a stigmatizing disease, which interferes with the life quality of patients and family members, and it is important to provide cancer care in primary care, especially with the help of a multidisciplinary team. Objective: To reflect on the application of the Nursing Process in the organization of professional care in coping with COVID-19 in Brazil. Method: Theoretical reflection study supported by Resolution COFEN nº 358/2009, which provides for the Nursing Process. Results: Considerations are presented about the applicability of the Nursing Process guided by the professional knowledge/practice of the nursing team under the leadership of the nurse. Objective: to know and analyze the process of nursing care management to the woman's health on Primary Health Care (PHC), focussing on the Nursing Process. Method: it is an action-research, based on the methodological reference of Thiollent. 10 nurses that made a nursing consultation on PHC in Chapecó/SC participated. Data were collected through interviews and focus groups. Results: scenery of consults and management, organizational, administrative, cultural and hegemonic practice were evidenced. Main challenges to effectively apply NP are related to nurses' work process, overload, accumulation of administrative and assistance functions, shortage of human and material resources, high demand from users in health services.
