The details of designing of a villa for a couple in Los Angeles, which was built with inspiration from the sunshine of California, are discussed.

Designers Roger Thomas and Janellen Radoff, of Wynn Design & Development, arranged the six villas at Wynn Las Vegas and DeRuyter O. Butler and Glen Ashworth, of Butler/Ashworth Architects, created the entire hotel casino. A pool, garden and spa are adjacent to the glass-enclosed living area of a smaller villa and high walls and lush foliage add to each suite's sense of privacy and serenity.

Oscar-winning actress, of 'Rebecca' and 'Suspicion' fame, Joan Fontaine shared a delightful, sprawling, single-roofed redwood-and-shingle structure with her second husband William Dozier on Fordyce Road clinging to a hillside in Brentwood. The couple favored a casual, informal lifestyle and Fontaine filled the house with cozy upholstered sofas and wing chairs, English antiques, oil paintings and books.

Architect John King and interior designer Norma King replaced their own residence in Ajijic, Mexico with their own design and give it a Moorish look. John King had a set of plans for a main house considering the width of the narrow but deep lot, with a pool-cooled courtyard behind it and guest casita behind the courtyard.

Baron Eric de Rothschild, who oversees the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (DBR), purchased an estate in Peralillo, Chile, called Vina Los Vascos in 1988. The estate included an almost 550-acre vineyard, with additional 840 acres of vine plantation where finer methods of growing and winemaking were introduced to produce a cabernet sauvignon acceptable to the American and European palette.

Architect Nick Fullerton and designer Linda Bedell redid the 1929 lodge on Montana's Lindbergh Lake. Bedell complemented the daybed, original to the lodge with hickory furniture while Nick did the repairing of the split roof, reinforced walls and restored walls and the log exterior.
