ATP, as a paracrine signalling molecule, induces intracellular Ca2+ elevation via the activation of purinergic receptors on the surface of glia-like cochlear supporting cells. These cells, including the Deiters’ cells (DCs), are also coupled by gap junctions that allow the propagation of intercellular Ca2+ waves via diffusion of Ca2+ mobilising second messenger IP3 between neighbouring cells. We have compared the ATP-evoked Ca2+ transients and the effect of two different gap junction (GJ) blockers (octanol and carbenoxolone, CBX) on the Ca2+ transients in DCs located in the apical and middle turns of the hemicochlea preparation of BALB/c mice (P14–19). Octanol had no effect on Ca2+ signalling, while CBX inhibited the ATP response, more prominently in the middle turn. Based on astrocyte models and using our experimental results, we successfully simulated the Ca2+ dynamics in DCs in different cochlear regions. The mathematical model reliably described the Ca2+ transients in the DCs and suggested that the tonotopical differences could originate from differences in purinoceptor and Ca2+ pump expressions and in IP3–Ca2+ release mechanisms. The cochlear turn-dependent effect of CBX might be the result of the differing connexin isoform composition of GJs along the tonotopic axis. The contribution of IP3-mediated Ca2+ signalling inhibition by CBX cannot be excluded.

La volonté. Voilà une notion qui est la croce e delizia de tout juriste. Elle n’a pas manqué de nourrir la réflexion depuis plusieurs siècles d’histoire juridique et suscite toujours des questionnements contemporains. La dimension diachronique, l’approche comparative et la réflexion collective sont au cœur des rencontres « France-Italie » depuis 2018. Par leur format original et l’ambition d’identifier et d’analyser la circulation des idées juridiques entre les deux pays et leurs juristes, les journées toulousaines de 2021 proposent d’interroger à nouveaux frais un thème déjà fécond. Les contributions réunies dans le présent volume ont permis de croiser les réflexions d’historiens du droit français et italiens pour saisir une notion qui n’est pas univoque ni un principe universel. Ils se sont également interrogés sur les moyens et les éléments qui ont façonné cette variabilité notionnelle en relation avec leur contexte d’élaboration et d’utilisation. Volonté individuelle et volonté collective, volonté juridique et volonté réelle sont quelques-unes des multiples facettes de la notion. Elles ont retenu l’attention d’une vingtaines de juristes historiens pour lesquels « l’une des tâches fondamentales de l’histoire du droit consiste à rappeler aux juristes que les principes et concepts généraux n’ont pas une signification absolue ou intemporelle ».

El pirineisme és un dels grans motius en la literatura de la Renaixença al Rosselló. L’article té l’objectiu d’oferir una visió panoràmica de la qüestió del pirineisme a partir de Records del Rosselló, l’obra principal de Pere Talrich. Esta obra talrichiana és el màxim exponent en la qual el referent geogràfic és el protagonista que canalitza l’enyor de la terra nadiua, tal com és habitual en el respectiu moviment. L’autor, actiu en la seua implicació cultural del nord estant regala uns versos que es contextualitzen en els principis de què parteixen les obres d’este corrent: toponimisme, excursionisme i plenairisme. Records del Rosselló mostra una mirada en picat de plans, cims, fondalades i la vida que els pobla en què mitjançant l’evocació onomàstica va mostrant-se el paisatge allunyat, enyorat i estimat. L’obra comparteix els principis adés esmentats amb d’altres com Flors del Canigó, de Pere Courtais, o Records d’un excursionista, de Carles Bosch de la Trinxeria, però l’obra màxima i model és, sens dubte, Canigó, de Jacint Verdaguer, el qual conegué l’obra de Talrich i al qual l’autor manifesta una gran admiració. Algunes altres veus com Josep Sebastià Pons han begut dels paisatges poètics precedents. Tot este simbolisme s’afaiçona amb la cançó de gesta, el felibritge i la poesia francesa de l’època (Alphonse de Lamartine i Victor Hugo). Pyreneism is one of the most important motifs in the literature of the Renaissance in Roussillon. The article aims to offer a panoramic view of the Pyreneism based on the title Records del Rosselló, the main work of Pere Talrich, the greatest exponent in which the geographical reference is the protagonist who channels the longing for the native land, as is usual in this movement. The author, active in his cultural involvement in the north, gives us some verses that are contextualized in the principles from which the works of this current start: Toponymism, Excursionism and Pleinairism. Records del Rosselló shows a close-up view of planes, peaks, valleys and the life that populates them in which, through the onomastic evocation, the distant, longed for and beloved landscape is shown. The work shares the aforementioned principles with others such as Flors del Canigó, by Pere Courtais, or Records d’un excursionista, by Carles Bosch de la Trinxeria, but the greatest work and model is, without a doubt, Canigó, by Jacint Verdaguer, who knew Talrich’s work and to whom the author expresses great admiration. Some other voices like Josep Sebastià Pons have drunk in the preceding poetic landscapes. All this symbolism is familiar with the chanson de geste, the Felibrige and the French poetry of the time (Alphonse de Lamartine and Victor Hugo).

Dins del conjunt demostratiu del català, no sempre s’inclou el determinant aqueix en el paradigma, si no és considerat com una forma secundària de aquest. Aquest treball examina el demostratiu aqueix i les seues variants en textos de l’edat moderna per tal de resseguir-ne el desenvolupament enfront del de aquest i de comprovar l’establiment de cada forma dialectal. Els resultats indiquen que, a diferència del català general, en la Catalunya del Nord s’empra més (aqu)eix que (aqu)est des del segle XVIII. Pel que fa a les formes, el corpus en registra tant de reforçades per aqu- com de no reforçades en els diversos dialectes. No obstant això, en català central, nord-occidental i balear es registren amb una freqüència considerable les formes no reforçades com est. Among the several demonstratives of the Catalan system, the determiner aqueix is barely contemplated in the main paradigm and is generally considered as a secondary form of aquest. This paper examines aqueix and its variants in texts from the Early Modern period in order to check its development in relation to aquest and identify the establishment of several dialectal forms. According to the results, unlike most of the Catalan areas, in Northern Catalonia (aqu)eix is more used than (aqu)est since the 18th century. Regarding the forms, the corpus shows both the reinforced ones (with aqu-) and simple ones in the different dialects. However, in Central, Northwestern, or Balearic Catalan the simple forms like est obtain a considerable frequency.

Les concurrències fer petons o donar consell són construccions amb verb de suport (CVS), en què un verb es combina amb un nom predicatiu i constitueixen un predicat complex semànticament (Colominas, 2001). En aquest treball presentem una aproximació descriptiva a l’ús dels verbs de suport fer i donar en el català actual, ja que ambdós tenen força variabilitat, especialment pel contacte lingüístic amb el castellà (Ginebra & Navarro, 2015). L’objectiu de l’estudi és mostrar el decalatge que hi ha entre la normativa i l’ús del català actual en les CVS amb els verbs fer i donar mitjançant l’anàlisi de dades del Corpus Informatitzat de la Llengua Catalana (CTILC), que es complementaran amb dades de xarxes socials de microblogging com Twitter. Tal com s’esperava, mentre les dades quantitatives del CTILC segueixen els usos establerts per la normativa, a les dades de Twitter s’observa una presència més elevada del verb donar en contextos sancionats per la normativa, encara que no és majoritària. A partir d’una breu anàlisi contrastiva amb altres llengües romàniques es conclou que la convivència dels verbs fer i donar en CVS en català, així com la seva vacil·lació en l’ús actual, es pot considerar, en efecte, una qüestió de contacte amb el castellà. Més concretament, no es tracta d’un cas d’interferència, sinó de convergència lingüística. The constructions such as fer petons (lit. ‘do kisses’) and donar consell (lit. ‘give advice’) are light verb constructions (LVCs), in which a verb combines with an eventive noun building a semantically complex predicate (Colominas, 2001). This study presents a descriptive approach to the use of the light verbs fer (‘make/do’) and donar (‘give’) in present-day Catalan, since both show variability, especially due to the language contact with Spanish (Ginebra & Navarro, 2015). The aim of this study is to show the disparity between the norm and the use of fer and donar LVCs in present-day Catalan with a corpus-based study of Corpus Informatitzat de la Llengua Catalana (CTILC), which will be complemented with data from microblogging social networks as Twitter. As expected, while quantitative data from CTILC follow the standard uses of the norm, Twitter data shows a higher presence of the verb donar in contexts which are normatively incorrect, although these are not the majority. After a brief contrastive analysis with other Romance languages, the study concludes that the coexistence of fer and donar in Catalan LVCs, as well as the fluctuation in their uses, can be considered as a matter of contact with Spanish. In fact, it is not a case of linguistic interference, but of linguistic convergence.

Després d’un període d’ascendència clarament parnassiana, concretat en obres com Els fruits saborosos (1906) i els dos llibres de sonets (publicats, respectivament, el 1905 i el 1907), Josep Carner comença a explorar noves vies per a la seva lírica. Marina Gustà (1987) situa el canvi de to d’aquest poeta cap a 1912, coincidint amb la publicació de Les monjoies. Tanmateix, una relectura de les composicions de Verger de les galanies (1911) demostra que, en realitat, aquest canvi es produeix alguns anys abans i que està motivat, en bona mesura, per la redescoberta que Carner va fer dels versos d’Ausiàs March, llegits moltes vegades al costat d’un precursor del Renaixement com Francesco Petrarca. After a period following Parnassian literature in which Josep Carner published books such as Els fruits saborosos (1906) and two books of sonnets (appearing in 1905 and 1907), he started to explore new ways for his poetry. Marina Gustà (1987) has tended to claim that a change is produced approximately in 1912, when he published Les monjoies. However, a revision of the poems included in Verger de les galanies (1911) demonstrates that actually this change in Carner’s poetry occurred some years before and that it was partially caused by the rediscovery of Ausiàs March, whom he considered very similar to Petrarch.

Aquest treball descriu els efectes pragmàtics de les expressions evidencials evidentment i és evident detectades en el llenguatge parlamentari de les sessions del Parlament de Catalunya. L’anàlisi es fixa en els objectius comunicatius que motiven els polítics a emprar aquests recursos lingüístics. A banda de l’ús purament evidencial, són les activitats d’imatge aquelles que en aquesta mena de discurs tenen una relació directa amb la (des)cortesia verbal. Tant les activitats d’imatge com la (des)cortesia representen estratègies que ajuden a construir i projectar la personalitat del polític, i/o del partit al qual representa, per tal de guanyar l’acceptació social. Es tracta d’estratègies que l’ajuden a dur a terme l’argumentació de manera eficaç. Totes dues expressions funcionen en aquest gènere com a intensificadors, reforcen l’avaluació o la convicció del parlant i, amb això, la credibilitat de l’afirmació emesa. Amb la present aportació es pretén obtenir un coneixement més ampli sobre els factors interaccionals que contribueixen a l’expressió de l’evidencialitat en un tipus de discurs determinat. This work describes the pragmatic effects of the Catalan evidential expressions evidentment and és evident detected in the parliamentary language of the sessions of the Catalan parliament. The analysis deals with the communicative intentions which motivate the politicians to use these linguistic resources. Besides the purely evidential use we identify image activities that in this type of speech have a direct relation with the verbal (im)politeness. The image activities as well as the (im)politeness represent strategies that help to construct and project the personality of the politician and/or the political party to gain social acceptance, help to argue effectively. Both expressions operate here as intensifiers, they strengthen the speaker’s evaluation and conviction and this way they strengthen the credibility of the assertion. With this contribution we try to acquire a wider knowledge of the interactional factors that contribute to the expression of the evidentiality in a specific type of speech.

La vocal neutra catalana és la realització més vistent d’entre les que manifesten una de les isoglosses principals amb què distribuïm les varietats del català en dos blocs geolectals. La bibliografia ha situat l’origen de la nostra vocal neutra en posició tònica o, després, pretònica, i dins del marc de les evolucions de /E/. Contra això, en aquest article defenso que la vocal neutra catalana va néixer en posició posttònica i a partir de /a/. En suport d’aquestes idees, aporto dades de l’occità —recollides a l’Atlas linguistique de la France i que presento en mapes meus—, que faig valdre per al català assumint que la isoglossa catalana del tractament de /a/ àtona final sobrepassa el límit nord del nostre domini lingüístic i continua dins de l’occità. Finalment, reconstrueixo una cronologia que explicaria que, a partir de l’origen coincident que suposo, les dues llengües hagin acabat tenint resultats divergents per a /a/ àtona final. The Catalan schwa is the most prominent amongst the realisations that enact one of the main isoglosses by which we distribute Catalan varieties into two geolectal groups. The literature on the matter has placed the origin of Catalan schwa in stressed position and, later, in pretonic position, and within the frame of the evolution of /E/. On the contrary, in this article I plead that Catalan schwa was born in post-tonic position and from /a/. In support of these ideas, I present data from Occitan —gathered in the Atlas linguistique de la France and rendered in my own maps— that I consider valid for Catalan by assuming that the Catalan isogloss on the treatment of unstressed final /a/ goes beyond the northern limit of the Catalan sprachraum and continues within Occitan. Finally, I reconstruct a timeline by which it could be explained that, from the matching origin I hypothesise, the two languages have ended up with divergent results for unstressed final /a/.

La subtitulació és una pràctica que implica transvasar un text oral en escrit i, per tant, canviar-lo d’un mode a l’altre. En aquest procés sovint se sacrifiquen característiques percebudes com a estereotipadament pròpies del mode oral, lligat a una major col·loquialitat, per obtenir un text adequat al mode escrit, percebut com a formal. No obstant això, les diferents pràctiques de subtitulació d’IB3 i TV3 demostren l’existència de dues concepcions diferents dels usos lingüístics en la subtitulació i, conseqüentment, de dos models allunyats per subtitular. En aquest treball s’aborda aquesta qüestió des de l’anàlisi de la subtitulació de quatre sèries de ficció: Amor de cans, Mai neva a Ciutat i Pep (d’IB3) i Merlí (de TV3), de les quals dues (Mai neva a Ciutat i Pep) han estat emeses també per TV3 i, per això, compten amb dues versions de subtítols, els d’IB3 i els de TV3. Aquests dos models de subtitulació ofereixen informació lingüística sobre les percepcions i actituds dels usuaris avançats de la llengua, com són els subtituladors, i es relacionen amb observacions i pràctiques lingüístiques ja relacionades amb l’efecte centrípet del centre sobre les perifèries. Subtitling is a practice that involves transposing an oral text into written form and, therefore, changing it from one mode to another. In this process, characteristics perceived as stereotypically proper to the oral mode, linked to a greater colloquiality, are usually sacrificed in order to achieve a text suitable for the written mode, perceived as formal. Even so, the different subtitling practices of IB3 and TV3 demonstrate the existence of two different conceptions of linguistic uses in subtitling and, consequently, of two distant models of subtitling. This paper addresses this issue by analysing the subtitling of four television series: Amor de cans, Mai neva a Ciutat and Pep (from IB3) and Merlí (from TV3), two of which (Mai neva a Ciutat and Pep) have also been broadcasted by TV3 and, therefore, have two versions of subtitles, those of IB3 and those of TV3. These two subtitling models offer linguistic information on the perceptions and attitudes of advanced language users, such as subtitlers, and are connected to already cited linguistic observations and practices such as the centripetal effect of the centre on the peripheries.

El procés creatiu de Joan Vinyoli (Barcelona, 1914-1984) parteix en molts casos de la recuperació i reelaboració de materials antics de l’autor que sovint compten amb un alt component autobiogràfic. En les diverses versions dels poemes, Vinyoli difumina aquest factor vivencial per convertir l’anècdota en veritat poètica, però no arriba a eliminar-lo. D’altra banda, la utilització d’un mateix material per a la construcció de poemes diferents estableix relacions interessants entre poemaris. Tenint presents aquestes dues característiques de l’obra vinyoliana, i a través dels esborranys que se’n conserven al Fons Joan Vinyoli (Arxiu Comarcal de la Selva), oferim una lectura genètica de tres poemes —«El graner morat», «Aplec» i «El guany»— de Vent d’aram (1976), un llibre escrit al voltant dels records. Joan Vinyoli’s (Barcelona, 1914-1984) creative process arises many times from the recuperation and reelaboration of author’s old materials, which usually have a high autobiographical component. In the different versions of the poems, Vinyoli fades this experiential fact to convert the anecdote into poetical truth, but he does not remove it completely. On the other hand, the use of the same material to construct different poems establishes interesting relations between his books. Having in mind these Vinyoli’s work’s characteristics we offer a genetic interpretation of three poems —«El graner morat», «Aplec» and «El guany»— from Vent d’aram (1976), a book written about memories, through the drafts conservated in Fons Joan Vinyoli (Arxiu Comarcal de la Selva).

La dona d’aigua és un personatge pertanyent a la mitologia catalana amb una gran tradició en la literatura popular dels Països Catalans. Analitzar la seva presència al territori del Pirineu resulta d’especial interès per la confluència de cultures i llengües que hi trobem. Aquest element multicultural provoca que a cada localitat les llegendes sobre dones d’aigua presentin característiques diferents, tant pel que fa al seu aspecte físic i psíquic, com respecte a l’hàbitat i als motius temàtics de les seves llegendes. En aquest article s’analitza la tradició popular lligada a la figura de la dona d’aigua al territori pirinenc a través de tres llegendes, cadascuna pertanyent a una de les regions de parla catalana de la serralada. L’objectiu és mostrar les similituds i diferències que hi ha entre elles en relació al context social i històric de cada comunitat. Al mateix temps, es pretén reflexionar sobre els missatges morals que transmeten i el rol que ocupen en la construcció cultural i identitària de la societat. The dona d’aigua (water women) is a character that belongs to Catalan mythology with a long tradition in the popular literature of the Catalan Countries. Analysing their presence in the Pyrenees is of particular interest given the confluence of cultures and languages that we can find there. This multicultural element leads to the fact that in each place, the legends about dones d’aigua present different characteristics, both in relation to their physical and psychological appearance, their habitat and the thematic motifs of their legends. To illustrate this, this article analyses the popular tradition linked to the figure of the dona d’aigua in the Pyrenean territory through three legends, each one belonging to one of the Catalan-speaking regions of the mountain range. The aim is to show the similarities and differences between them in relation to the social and historical context of each community. At the same time, the aim is to reflect on the moral messages they transmit and the role they play in the cultural and identitary construction of society.

L’objectiu d’aquesta recerca és analitzar les estratègies discursives, relacionades amb el registre col·loquial, que caracteritzen la poesia de Joan Vinyoli, Gabriel Ferrater i Miquel Martí i Pol, per tal de comparar el discurs dels tres poetes. L’obra poètica d’autors com Joan Vinyoli, Gabriel Ferrater i Miquel Martí i Pol ha contribuït a la construcció d’una identitat pròpia de la literatura catalana i, més concretament, de la poesia catalana contemporània. Així mateix, tots tres poetes, a banda de compartir un context sociopolític i unes determinades circumstàncies de producció, tenen en comú la preocupació per la llengua i per l’estil dels seus textos. De fet, tots ells valoren positivament l’ús de mots corrents en els textos poètics (en efecte, a partir dels anys seixanta del segle xx el llenguatge poètic va adquirir un to més directe i, fins i tot, col·loquial). Així i tot, s’ha comprovat que la presència d’elements del registre col·loquial és major en la poesia de Ferrater, en comparació amb Vinyoli, en part perquè Ferrater fa un ús més recurrent de l’estil directe; i ho és encara més en la poesia de Martí i Pol, que és de vegades força col·loquial i fa servir sovint l’al·literació. Per tant, es podria considerar que hi ha una gradació entre els tres poetes a partir de l’ús que fan del registre col·loquial. The aim of this research is to analyze the discursive strategies, related to the colloquial register, that characterize the poetry of Joan Vinyoli, Gabriel Ferrater and Miquel Martí i Pol, in order to compare the discourse of the three poets. The poetic work of authors such as Joan Vinyoli, Gabriel Ferrater and Miquel Martí i Pol has contributed to the construction of an identity specific to Catalan literature and, more specifically, to contemporary Catalan poetry. Likewise, all three poets, apart from sharing a socio-political context and certain circumstances of production, have in common a concern for the language and the style of their texts. In fact, all of them positively value the use of common words in poetic texts (indeed, from the sixties of the 20th century poetic language acquired a more direct and even colloquial tone). Even so, it has been verified that the presence of elements of the colloquial register is greater in Ferrater’s poetry, compared to Vinyoli, in part because Ferrater makes more frequent use of the direct style; and it is even more so in the poetry of Martí i Pol, which is sometimes quite colloquial and often uses alliteration. Therefore, it could be considered that there is a gradation between the three poets based on their use of the colloquial register.

A la Catalunya del Nord, el català es troba en un estat avançat de substitució lingüística i el sistema educatiu immersiu en aquesta llengua és un model minoritari, la qual cosa té conseqüències en la formació identitària i psicosocial dels seus alumnes. Aquest article té com a objectius: identificar i analitzar les actituds lingüístiques i les representacions socials vers el català i el francés de l’alumnat de les escoles immersives, així com examinar les relacions amb els factors invariables, com ara l’edat i el sexe biològic, i establir patrons amb la llengua inicial. Gràcies a les entrevistes qualitatives a quinze antics alumnes, hem pogut determinar l’existència de cinc prejudicis lingüístics: parlar català considerat com a situació artificial, parlar francés com a acte de rebel·lia, la inseguretat lingüística, l’autoodi i la incertesa identitària. Així doncs, les cinc actituds identificades tenen una major incidència entre els parlants amb L1 francés, però sobretot entre les dones. A partir dels resultats, proposem una sèrie de mesures i polítiques lingüístiques centrades en el capgirament de l’actual situació sociolingüística del jovent de les escoles immersives. In Northern Catalonia, Catalan is in an advanced state of language substitution and the Catalan immersive schools are a minority educative system, which has some consequences on students’ identity and psychosocial construction. This paper aims to identify and analyse the linguistic attitudes and social representations towards Catalan and French of students from these immersive schools, as well as to examine the relations with invariable factors, such as age and biological sex, and to establish patterns with the initial language. I examined fifteen testimonies from former students at the immersive schools and I identify five linguistic attitudes: speaking Catalan considered an artificial situation, speaking French considered an act of rebellion, linguistic insecurity, self-hatred, and identity uncertainty. The results show that linguistic prejudices have a greater incidence among speakers with L1 French, but especially among women. Based on these results, I propose several measures and policies focused on turning around the current sociolinguistic situation of young people in Northern Catalonia immersive schools.

És ben sabut que l’expressió de la identitat, tant de gènere com afectivosexual, ha estat una qüestió tradicionalment marginada de l’estudi acadèmic, com també la manera com s’ha plasmat, sense embuts ni pretensions encriptadores, a les obres literàries. A partir dels anys setanta, a nivell social, comença a palesar-se un canvi de paradigma que, paulatinament, aconsegueix esbossar una realitat subordinada, encara hui, a l’heteropatriarcat i al binarisme heterosexual cisgènere. Aquesta progressiva visibilització social té el seu respectiu ressò en els productes culturals, com és el cas de la literatura, la qual reflecteix la realitat social imperant. La relaxació de la censura, l’ampliació de les llibertats d’índole sexual i un gran moviment de conscienciació i reivindicació socials són algunes de les claus que afavoreixen la desestigmatització d’algunes realitats humanes. En aquest sentit, aquest article, centrat en l’estudi del lesbianisme en la literatura, parteix d’aquest context per analitzar el tractament del tema de l’amor entre dones a partir d’unes obres separades diacrònicament per tal de veure quina n’ha estat l’evolució. Els objectes de l’anàlisi són, d’una banda, els contes homònims dels reculls primerencs de Carme Riera, Te deix, amor, la mar com a penyora (1975) i Jo pos per testimoni les gavines (1977), com també la narració «Qui portava flors a na Glòria?» (inclosa en la primera obra esmentada), textos que podem considerar un punt d’inici (anys 70); d’altra banda, estudiaré com es palesa aquesta temàtica a la novel·la Permagel (2018) d’Eva Baltasar, a fi de contrastar-ho amb una representació literària actual més desinhibida. It is known that the expression of gender and sexual identity is a matter that has traditionally been marginalised from academic studies, as well as how it has been expressed in literary works, without any tricks or cryptic pretensions. From the 1970s onwards, there was a social paradigm shift which started to take place and gradually managed to outline a reality that is still subordinated to an extended heteropatriarchy and a common heterosexual cisgender binarism. This progressive social development of visibility is also seen in cultural products, such as literature, which reflects the current prevailing social reality. There are a few clauses that favour the de-stigmatisation of some human realities, such as the loosening of censorship, the expansion of sexual freedom, or the great social awareness and vindication movements. In this sense, according to the current state of the study of lesbianism in literature, this article aims to use these contexts with the purpose of comparing the handling of love between women, based on diachronically distant literary works, to analyse the evolution that could be therefore found. The subjects of the analysis are, on the one hand, the stories of the same name from Carme Riera’s first collection Te deix, amor, la mar com a penyora (1975) and Jo pos per testimoni les gavines (1977), as well as the narrative «Qui portava flors a na Glòria?» (included in the first named work). These texts can be used as a starting point (from the 1970s). On the other hand, the approach to this topic in the novel Pergamel (2018) by Eva Baltasar will be observed in order to compare it with a more uninhibited current literary representation.

Als Països Catalans, el jazz també va tindre una presència destacada durant el segle xx. Joan Salvat-Papasseit va ser el primer poeta a fer-hi referència a Óssa menor. Fi dels poemes d’avantguarda (1925) relacionant-lo amb la dansa i l’oci nocturn, juntament amb altres poetes com Ventura Gassol. La nova música va ser considerada un símbol de la modernitat urbana, com les màquines, l’electricitat o els transports, i lloada pels poetes avantguardistes com Carles Salvador o Maximilià Thous Llorens. Tanmateix, l’expansió i la professionalització del jazz va quedar frenada per la Guerra Civil. Durant la postguerra, poetes com Espriu, Palau i Fabre, Fuster o Estellés associen el jazz al subgènere del blues i al seu component de melangia i nostàlgia. Apareixen, llavors, les primeres al·lusions a músics concrets com Louis Armstrong o Cole Porter. Amb tot, és a partir dels anys huitanta quan les referències al jazz es fan més abundants i explícites. Joan Margarit és potser el poeta que lliga més la seua estètica literària al jazz. Hi destaquen també Pere Rovira i Ferran Anell, que troben una gran fascinació en les vides tràgiques de Billie Holiday i Chet Baker. The study of the influence of jazz on poetry has increased considerably in literatures such as American and Spanish. In the Catalan Countries, jazz also had a prominent presence during the 20th century. Joan Salvat-Papasseit was the first poet to refer to it in Óssa menor. The new music was considered a symbol of urban modernity, like machines, electricity, or transportation, and praised by avant-garde poets like Carles Salvador or Maximilià Thous Llorens. However, the expansion and professionalization of jazz were stopped by the Spanish Civil War. During the post-war period, poets such as Espriu, Palau i Fabre, Fuster or Estellés associated jazz with the subgenre of blues and its nostalgia component. The first allusions to musicians such as Louis Armstrong and Cole Porter appeared also at that time. However, it is in the eighties that references to jazz become more abundant and explicit. Joan Margarit is perhaps the poet who most closely links his literary aesthetics to jazz. Pere Rovira and Ferran Anell also stand out, because of their great fascination for the tragic lives of Billie Holiday and Chet Baker. Today, the union between poetry and jazz has been brought to the stage with several interdisciplinary shows.

Since the beginning of her career, Professor Sabine De Knop has been doing research within the frameworks of Cognitive and Contrastive Linguistics and has mainly distinguished herself in three research areas: Language & Cognition, Construction Grammar and Applied linguistics.
